I have Adobe Premiere Elements projects built from earlier versions of the tool I would like to reopen. Specifically, Versions 4, 7, and 8. I am using Version 19. When I try to load these older versions, I get "This project is not compatible with current version of Premiere elements". I have a fair number of these older projects (25) as I have been using the tool and upgrading over the years. How can I open these and convert them to the version 19?
Greetings and thank for taking my question Using elements 21. I added music from the software music election. I cannot set the volumn lower. If I use the mixer it lowers it until I start the track again and the volumn return to original. If I press apply in the mixer, it makes no difference.
The first time I exported a file, it saved at 3.31 GB. I opened it back up to make some minor modifications in the order of clips and now it saves at 6.08 GB. Must've changed some setting inadvertantly but can't figure out what. Both videos were exported at the same settings on the 'Export and Share' screen. Please let me know how to get the file back to a reasonable size.
Hello- I have Premiere Elements 2021 and have been able to succesfully edit, however when I attempt to open the file the next day, for example, the file import failure error message below pops up. I've read elsewhere on this form that installing Handbrake can help, which I've tried, but it doesn't seem to do anything with my edited project. Could this mean that I have to start the editing project from scratch? Also, I had saved the project to both my hard drive and an external hard drive. When I open the project from the external hard drive I get the following... ...and ignoring it, if I just X out of the folder, it takes me to the PE timeline where everything looks fine to proceed. I just don't get it. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?Thank you,Rose

I bought a new laptop--can you reuse a serial number for a new computer? Old one was running Premiere Elements 2020. Just downloaded Elements on new machine (now version is Elements 2021). Tried clicking on the 'Activate this software' option and type in the serial number I have and it says it is not valid. How do I get it running on my new laptop?
Hi all, been using PE for a while but there's one thing I can't figure out. If I import and edit a video file for example 1920x1440 (4:3), when I come to export the only options I get are 1920x1080 (or equivalent) leaving black bars at the sides. I looked online and apparently it sets the project at the resolution of the first file you drag to the timeline, but I can't get it to export at the original file dimensions without black bars. None of the export presets allow 4:3. I just want to for example overlay audio then export the video exactly as it was added. Thanks - Keith

Unless I set the program to display as "Full Screen" the menus will not open. The Import Media button doesn't open either. The taskbar being set to 'hide" also seems to impact the issue. A program that doesn't open any of the menus is well......... useless. Setting it to "Full Screen" (so the double screen button is between the dash and the X) at least allows the menus to work. I've seen comments on this issue back in 2020. It's almost April 2021. Obviously this should never happen and demonstrates a significant amount of "non-standard" programming, but shouldn't it be fixed by now????
Which specific Premier Elements files should I backup? A number of projects have been created, Thanks,
Hi,I want to render a video in 120 fps.how do i do it? Thanks!
This happened when I received a bunch of Windows updates. I understand it to be a driver issue, but the newest drivers and software just don't seem to be compatible. What do I do? I now have horizontal green lines on my Adobe Premiere Elements preview screen now. They were never there before and appeared after some Windows updates. I have Premiere Elements 2021 with the recent update (20210127.daily.2235820)I'm running a Lenovo X1 Yoga Thinkpad with Windows 10I have the Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 adaptor with driver version 27.20.100.8337 now dated 6/16/2020 I searched Windows, Lenovo, and Intel for other drivers. I found an old one and installed it, which got rid of the green lines temporarily while causing other graphics issues in Windows. Then Windows updated my driver again to this one and the green lines are back. I can agree this is a driver issue, but I have the newest of everything! What do I do?
When making slide show videos, I include iinformation text/clips as explanatory note. I choose Classic titles since it has a plain default black background and ample space for information. The text color can be changed but I have not discovered a way to change the background color as could be done with APE9. The preset Text/Clip do not provide a means to change the background color. Has anyone discovered a way to change the bakcground color from default black to another?
Where is the one place? that you can change the name of your project that it goes into the entire project? Thank you!!!
I have a 2019 iMac and pretty much all adobe products are making it crash since the Big Sur update and premiere is the absoulte worst. I can't even get a project started without it crashing. I have posted on the forum several times and they direct me to other posts saying these answers should solve your problem and the suggestions do not make anything better. I've done every fix reccomended and shared my screen with adobe tech support to figure out the issue and still nothing. I am tired of this. My computer is now basically useless. Adobe used to be the trusted option and now it's terrible.
I am following the youtube videoUsing the Effect on Selection tool in Premiere Elements 2021, on Win10 PChttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlKUJzgcz94Upon selecting the blurr mask and by pressing the tracking button (and subsequent application of effect) the blue mask outline with handles disapppears and I cannot get it back. In the YouTube video the mask stays on.The effect of mask plus blurring is applied to the video, but possibility of re-tracking is lost. Thanks, A
Hey community!Do you know, if there are any further templates of the "Video Story"-Part of Premiere Elements 2020?These templates are very specific to one topic (marriage, birthday, ...). I'm searching for a more general template.Thanx for answering!Fabi
I imported an existing video into Adobe Premiere Elements that is 05:53:00 and am using Premiere Elements to resave it using the export settings needed by my local public media station. The final product needs to be exact, to the frame. After saving with Premiere Elements, the final video is 05:52:19. This won't work. I need those frames back at the end of my video for the public media station to be able to use it. How can I stop the program from dropping these frames?
Hi everyone. I have a project that I've been working on (only 3 minutes of content) and suddenly the program would freeze and crash everytime I opened the project. About a month ago I updated my Macbook Pro to the Big Sur operating system, which I today learned is not compatible with Elements 2020. My question is, why has the program and 3 different projects stopped working today, when they've been working just fine for weeks after updating my operating system? Please help.
Premiere Elements will not render any clips for me. I have set the work area and tried clips imported from multiple sources and cameras without any sucess. If I click the render button it just starts playing the video timeline. With multiple clips on the timeline its playing at like 1fps so basically not usable.Just purchased this software but cant edit any videos with this issue. Hopefully someone has a simple solution.
I use the current Win 10 version (all updates) and PrE 2021 (also current updates). As a computer I use a Lenovo notebook with an Intel I7 1165G7, 16 GB and faster SSD (2TB)4k videos (without PrE) are played smoothly and smoothly without noticeably loading the CPU. 1. It often takes PrE 15-20 seconds to start; but sometimes up to a minute. 2. 4K videos are usually displayed very jerkily - more like a slide show. 3. But worst of all are the disturbances that PrE builds into the videos. This probably happens when using the codec function of the Intel Iris XE graphics.I tried the driver version 27.20.100.9168 and the beta 27.20.100.9313.In both cases I have disturbances in the picture (which of course are not in the original). If I don't use the Iris XE and have it created by the CPU, the results are error-free - but it takes an infinite amount of time.So there seems to be a conflict between PrE and the Intel driver. How can I actually report such a bug to Adobe. Is there
Hi all, Recently I've been trying to get Premiere Elements 2021 to render using my AMD Radeon RX480 GPU. I saw that this isn't in the list of compatible videocards and Elements uses the standard software renderer. But since the RX480 supports GPU Calculations (OpenCL 2.0 under current up-to-date drivers), I thought I'd run GPUSniffer.exe and find out what it thinks about my videocard. As expected: GPUSniffer reports back that my videocard is perfectly capable of doing GPU calculations. Isn't there a way to also let Premiere Elements know that it's capable of doing so? If not, why not? If so, then how do I do it? I'm not really fond of sitting for a couple of rendering hours twiddling my thumbs by making the CPU sweat while there is a better option right there sitting in front of me.
Hello, I'm using Premiere Elements 2020 to edit a 3 track video. I have each the footage of my camera angles sync'd up on three tracks and I'm able to switch back and forth between camera angles by adusting the opacity of each of the videos on the separate tracks. There is a place in one of the videos where I need to time stretch a scene (no sound). I split the clip on either side of the scene in question to created a new clip that i want to stretch. I then trimmed the clip on the right by dragging the red bracket to the right thinking I was making room for the time stretching. As expected, there was now a space on that track. to allow for and extension of my new clip. I attempted to then timestretch the newly created clip. I wanted to slow it down. I changed the speed to 50%. As expected, the new clip increased in length by the appropriate amount. BUT, and here's the problem (sorry for the long preamble), instead of the clip
