Premiere Elements

I am making a video of my daughter reading a favorite soty to her daughter. I've scanned the pages of the story book and want to put a small video of my daughter reading in the corner. The pages will dissolve into each other as she reads. How do I get a square or 'portrait' image of the video of my daugher? It was made in 'landscape' mode. Are the proportions of video in video fixed? Thanks in advance! Ed (Premiere Elements 2020, iMac Catalina)

Would appreciate suggestions on how to burn blu-ray discs for PRE 2020 projects.  I have accumulated (and continue to accumulate) HD camcorder video for which I want to edit and produce blu-ray discs.  Techniques, suggestions and/or software to burn PRE 2020 mp4 projects to blu-ray disc would be appreciated.

I recently upgraded from Premier Elements 2016 to the 2020 version. I am trying to do some very simple in Quick View that has seemed to change in this new version. I have added a video from a file. It is showing on the timeline, occupying about 10% of the horizontal length of the screen. I need to zoom way in on this clip to do editing. The help for Quick View arranging clips says: "To zoom in or out as you add a clip, drag the clip to the Quick view timeline. Hold down the mouse button, and press the Equals (=) key to increase the zoom factor or press the Minus (–) key to decrease it.". This is not working. Nothing changes in the view. The help also says "To zoom in on the Quick view timeline, drag the Zoom slider to the right, or click the Zoom In button". Where is the zoom slider? I cannot find this either. Any advice  here would be greatly appreciated. 

Getting back into shooting & editing after a 16-year absence from TV news (I now work for a government agency)I have Premiere Elements 2019.I shoot w/a camcorder: Channel 1 is the onboard shotgun mic...channel 2 is for interviews w/my stick or lav mic. Both channels are "on" while shooting. When I import my video, the audio in each mp4 clip is a blend of both mic channels. How do I pot-down the channel 1 shotgun mic...in order to isolate the lav-mic audio w/o the background shotgun mic noise? I haven't found the answer after searching the internet. Someone I know thinks that this is not possible in Elements--only in Premiere Pro--and that the solution is for me to simply turn down the shotgun mic when I shoot--thus, only shooting CH2 audio. Is this true? Or is there a way to pot down that shotgun mic audio in my imported mp4 clips?

Hi,My Premiere elements 2018 quits when importing mp4 from snagit-editor (version 2021). Does anyone kwno how to solve this? Are there different types of mp4 files? Thanks for any help,  Robert 

I would like to animate a shape or pen drawn mask in Premiere Elements similar to the 4th effect in this video by Orange83 (which shows how to do it in Premiere Pro).  Another effect I would like to do is have text revealed as someone walks by.  Is this possible in Premiere Elements?Thanks

Have just purchased Premier Elements 2021 from Amazon. It loads ok but when adding a video the top screen is corrupted with horizontal lines. I then notice that the version I have is the "Upgrade Edition". Does this mean I have to purchase an earlier version or is there an easy fix. I could return the disc to Amazon and repurchase a full one.

I have a project (recent) created in Premier Elements 14 which uses (with no problems) three mp4 files all shot on the same phone (Galaxy s10e).Yesterday, I upgraded to PE 2021. I opened my project and it picks up two of the mp4 files fine but on the third it reports "The importer reported a generic error".That file plays fine in Windows 'Films & TV' app and still loads into PE14, so it has not become corrupted since the last usage.Any suggestions? (Other than using PE14 to act as a transcoder for PE2021!)

With PE 13 & 14 there was a PDF file with the title "ADOBE® PREMIERE® ELEMENTS HELP" (in upper case).For PE 14 I saved it with the filename premiere-elements_reference-EN14.pdf5 years later I still have it. I assume the HTML-based "Adobe Premiere Elements User Guide" is the current equivalent:https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/user-guide.html This is all well & good (unless you prefer to actually read a document) but its falls over when you want to work offline for whatever reason OR when the next release of PE appears and the "User Guide" is presumably overwritten with the update. Has anyone figured out a way to make a local copy of this HTML structure?  

Hi all, I'd like to crop black squares on a video I'm currently editing, but am limited with what I can crop using the Elements cropping tool. I've tried applying an editing mask to feature all 3 participants on the video, but have had little success.  Any support would be great.  Here's what it looks like currently:  

Hi Guys! I'm using APE 2021 on mac and cannot import h.264 2.7k 60fps mp4 files.Files were recorded on hero 8 black, imorted to ipad (works perfectly fine in luma fusion in ipad pro 2017), and then transfered from ipad to mac book pro (2019 model)I'm keep getting an error that "this type of file is not supported or the required codec is not installed".Tried to do import it with different projects settings but nothing worked so far. Any ideas? Am I missing some codec that needs to be installed?Apologizes if the question is silly, I'm totally new to mac. Thanks!

Dear Adobe Team,I see that you have now GPU Support for Premiere Elements.I tested Premiere Elements 2021 but my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q Design shows that this GPU is not supported. I see that you support NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 so why not the RTX 2080?Please can you add RTX 2080.  If this is working i will upgrade immediately from 2020. Thanks in advanceStefan

The export worked in the test version. But now, after installing the purchased version, the window crashes every time I click "Export and Share". Prmiere Elements 2020, Windows 10, 64-bit. What should I do?

In the new Premiere Elements 2021 the rendering of an UHD clip for television takes 3 times the duration as in version 2020. The rendering of a 30 minutes UHD clip took in version 2020 approimately 2 hours, in version 2021 it takes 5 to 6 hours using in both cases a laptop with an Intel I7-8700k, 64 G Byte main memory and 4 T Byte SSD background storage. Hi,Is it possible to move keyframes on multiple clips simultaneously?  For example, if I have video clips on four tracks, I'd like to be able to move a keyframe for all four at the same time, without having to do each one individually. My question is about movement either up/down in value or left/right on the timeline.Thanks, Todd

So I've successfully done about 3 videos with a green screen. Each time, it's a bit of an experimentation, trying to understand the steps for it work versus what I've set and what I've clicked on... 1. Import green screen video2. Import background pic or video3. Click Chroma key icon, drop onto green screen video. 4. Click eye dropper , click on green area of background.5. Use sliders to adjust. This SEEMS like it should work, but once again, I'm banging my head , trying to understand why I get either nothing but the background pic/track or background video/track to play, or, the foreground green-screen video to play. There is some kind of sequence thing or something which is infuriatingly not mentioned or covered in any tutorials that I'm apparently not doing correctly. Thanks for any help.  

if you know the clip name, or a partial name, how do you find a clip in the timeline? Thank you

i used to use adobe premierre elements 3.0 and there was a scéneline AND a timeline , i used to use the timeline now i have adobe premierre elements 2021 , and i only have a scé,eline and NOT a timeline ! where is the timeline ?? i cant find it !! help me please !

I am using APE 14.  Putting together a field hockey video.  I have a lot of video clips and pictures in the project.  But should the project file be that large?  I have done other projects before and the prel file is usually MUCH smaller.  Some other odd things - when loading it shows it is loading 67,000 files!  Lastly, quite often when I search for a clip in the Project Assets, it shows the correct clip thumbnail, but when I drag it to the timeline, it is the wrong clip.  So thinking my project file is corrupt.   

If you know the filename, or part of it, how to you find it in the time line?   Thank you.  

Ich möchte auf meinem neuen PC Adobe Premiere und Photoshop Elements aktivieren. Scheinbar habe ich die Nummer der zulässigen PCs bereits erreicht und muss mich auf einem der alten Rechner abmelden - nur sind diese kaputt. Daher kann ich das auf dem Rechner selbst nicht bewerkstelligen. Gibt es eine Methode, sich irgendwie online abzumelden? Stellt Adobe das zur Verfügung? Meine Suche lief nun seit Tagen im Kreis, ich komme immer wieder auf die selben Support-Seiten, die keinen Support bieten. Und direkter Kontakt ist auch unmöglich... Danke im Voraus für die Hilfe

I am a bit green when it comes to editing. I have a nextbase camera that records at twice the speed. It is MP4 video. I try and import the videos and I get "importer reports generic error". They are stored on external disk. I have downloaded some but when I edit the video then it asks me where the video is. Very irritating and getting sick of this program as it continually crashes.

Prem Elements 2021 tells me my GPU is unsupported.The following link however contradicts this by listing it as one of the recommended graphics cards.https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/premiere-elements/using/gpu-acceleration.html Can anybody tell me what's going on?

I can't see the Special Edits section under guided edits.  I've installed Premiere Elements 2021 but don't see the Special Edits option when I click on Guided Edits.  Any idea how to fix that?Rick
