Premiere Elements

Hi all,I often have 2 hour + long videos where I just want to trim the first few minutes and last few mintues to get rid of any superfluous parts.I do not want to "edit" it and then render it out.I just want to "delete" the first few minutes, the last few minutes, and then hit save, and the video is done.  No lengthy rendering times wanted.I was told this is called a "video splitter" and tried a couple of those programs.I have used Avidemux to do it with some success.  But that's all it does (I think).Now looking for a more feature-rich editing program (hopefully under $150 USD) for Windows that will also do this video spliting as well as normal editing.Does anyone know if Adobe Premiere Elements will also do this video splitting?Thanks

Hi all,    I've been having issues with adobe premiere elements 2018. Namely it crashes when I try to edit video (which kind of defeats the object but never mind)... Having done some research I have discovered that editing 4k video (shot from a GoPro) may be putting too much demand on my machine (apple MacBook Pro 2017) and causing instability a possible workaround was editing using proxies to reduce the workload.I am not after winning an Oscar for editing, I just want to edit personal videos into something more watchable.can anyone explain in very simple terms how I can do this in adobe elements 18? The easier the explanation the better. I have only just started editing and bought this software primarily because it got good reviews for being easy.thank you

Hi, So if I am showing a clip of my kids when they are 4 years old, I want to show a date to the viewers of my video while its playing.  Like, "2009" or something.Can I overlay text on a clip somehow?  The only way I am seeing to do this is by using titles, inserting a whole slide with the text I want to display.  Is this the only way?Thanks!

I'm using Premiere Elements 10, and I have these columns on either side of the clip in the video viewing area that are black after I export. I was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of them? My assumption is that the "workarea" or whatever it's called is not full and that it is not the same size as the clip itself, but there isn't any other options and a video I edited months ago, before this issue came, still gets them if I import it. The main thing I am working on has black bars at the top too, which I don't really mind, but have black on all 4 sides makes it look too small. When I am working on a project in Premiere elements and decide to move the window to my second monitor (or move anywhere) it smears/trails/streaks everywhere. Please see the screenshot I attached. Does anyone have a fix? It never used to do this. I tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck. Only this software does this. All other programs and windows are fine... Something strange I noticed is that if I remote into this PC from another PC and move the window, it does not streak. I have two problems.  Sometimes trimming a bittorent video enlarges the borders in the final save so that the screen size dimensions are smaller.  I imagine that it might have to do with video was structured.  I usually save it according to how PE interprets the video (ie 720p).2nd, If I split a multi-scene video into individual scenes, the sum of all the scenes vastly exceeds the size of the original video.  For example, I might trim a 3GB video into its individual scenes and the sum of all the scenes might be 8GB.  I'm assuming that it might relate to how the video was originally compressed.  Any thoughts?

I'm capturing dv video from an analogue camcorder via firewire to premiere elements 7. Original video 4:3 PAL. Settings in capture window matching. However there's a black bar on one side and the bottom. Can't see any way to, or even any  need to, change aspect ratio. Is it pixel ratio issue? Fyi it's a replacement camcoder not the original (panasonic nv200) but can't imagine that makes any difference.....

Does the FDR-AX33 4k have a mode that allows you to shoot in 1080p? Sometimes I would like to shoot in 1080p instead of rendering in Elements. Haven't found anything that gives a definitive answer.

I have PE14 & Adobe box indicates it's Roxio Powered.  I already had a Roxio 2012 Special Edition (SE) loaded, which I purchased from Costco years ago.  How do I know that when I select Export an ISO Image for an AVCHD, that the PE14 supplied version of Roxio is being used vs the older 2012 Roxio SE?  I ask because it takes 60 to 90 min to export and has failed many times near the end of the 90 minute export... but, sometimes without any additional changes, it will complete.

I have a recorder and have added recordings to my Adobe Elements 18 presentation.  All of the recordings are fine except one of them.  I've tried to correct his by rerecording the message several times - it is still not loud enough.Is there a way to select this recording and make it louder?

Hi,I haven't used Premiere much as bought to use Photoshop but lately GoPro Studio trial expired and I am back to other options thought I should give Premiere a test on combining clips.I tried exporting with the following configuration, 4K 200mbps and file size 12GB see screenshot included.For some reason Premiere is exporting a low quality 500-600mb file, including full 8 mins of video but not the 12GB file. A very low quality version that cannot be used anywhere. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong and how I can fix this?Thank you!

I have used PE14 for many years and have had very few problems which I have not been able to resolve. Now I have upgraded y Mac mini to High Sierra O/S and am having serious problems with two features of the program which I use frequently. When trying to preview a video clip the program will freeze and a restart of PE14 is required often loosing unsaved changes. Similarly with the zoom tool. If I try and perform a zoom into a still picture clip all is well until I try to save the effect with the Done command. Same result as with the clip previewer - lost changes and time wasted. I have tried numerous reinstalls with the same result. I, and many other PE users, need this problem sorted out urgently.

Hi guys,I've been working on a video in VOB format, copied from a DVD to my SSD. The editing is successful, no issues there. When I export to DVD ISO it completes in about 10 minutes, I'm guessing there is no conversion going on here hence why it is faster. When I wan to export to another format (I've tried loads of them) the saving video / rendering media process takes literally days. Premiere is taking up hardly any capacity on my computer, SSD remains hardly touched, in around 8 hours it has only done 144MB - the CPU is not touched, memory is static around 1.4GB. It seems to me the export process is somehow capped or set to be in the background or something. My computer has ample resources which it's not bothering to use!Has anyone seen this before? If so is there a cause?

Is it possible and easy to convert 4k to 1080p using Elements? Is it more practical to just shoot in 1080p and use them? I do not really need 4k footage, but it might be useful in the future if I am going to invest in a camcorder. Thank You.

Hi, Im a total newbe with this , but basically I have a c920 webcam and Element 15.Im using a Mac mini with latest OS.When I open a new project , the webcam movement quality is very slow , like its  a low frame rate or something, and Im really not sure what to change to correct this, if it is indeed correctable?Many Thanks

Just updated OS for iMac to 10.13.4. From the discussion on Apple websites I was waiting (and hoping) to see if the new OS solved the situation with freezing Adobe Premiere Elements 2018. It doesn't. Premiere still freezes and has to be forced to close; within 10 seconds of opening a test video I got the beachball of death. Also this time, I had it freeze up in Organizer during a back-up. That's a first.

Hello:I am having trouble importing videos from my SD card into Premiere Elements 15.  The software just hangs at "Copying Media 16%" for hours at a time before moving forward. What used to take minutes, is now taking days. I am importing from a Nikon Cool Pix P610 camera (MOV files)Any Idea what the trouble could be ? I am currently using the trial version of Premier Elements. I like to test it out before I buy it. I am getting an export error and a yellow explanation mark inside triangle, in the last minute of rendring the video when I have clicked the Export and share. But no explanation of what makes the error happen. Is this because I am having the trial version or is it something else that I am doing wrong?

My adobe premiere is not opening for some reason and I am not sure why. I was hoping that you may be able to resolve this issue?

Hi, I'm currently using Premiere Elements 14 my video is just below 10 minutes. When I try and export & share I select the 1920 x 1080 (resolution of my video) and high quality, although it then tells me that my video is to long.I looked through the forums, I read that there is a way to fix it but couldn't really find how. Any help would be appreciated.
