Need advice on what's the absolute best laptop I can get for heavy rendering on the road.  Something powerful and light that I can run operates Adobe premiere and third part special effects like Boris. I'm looking at upgrading my mac to the brand new 16". I've had problems with mac and premiere in the past...plus no I want to use a Boris for special effects. I guess what I'm asking ois would you recommend the brand new 16" 64GB ram maxed out. I want to purchase a Dell G7 laptop, but I read somewhere gaming laptops may not be the best for After Effects (or other programs in Adobe CC). I wanted to check here before I made the purchase. I mostly use AE to prepare audio visualizers for my music from templates. I'm also interested in Premier to edit YouTube videos. I have a mid 2011 27-inch iMac. It has a 2.7GHz Intell Core i5 Processor. It has only 4GB of ram but is upgradeable to 32GB. Will I need a new Mac or can I get away with upgrading the Ram and using this one to edit with Premiere Pro?

Remember my mini-ITX PC? Well, it turned out that I will be keeping the box and some of its components. The CPU definitely needed upgrading, especially since it was nearing four years old (with the H170 chipset dating back five years now). I’m currently on the look for a new laptop to rely on entirely for my design work. Unfortunately, MacBook Pro isn’t a feasible option for me in the meantime, so I’m looking for a Windows laptop than can run the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Dimension, and also (but less importantly) After Effects as I’m still planning to learn it. I really care to have all features like 3D active in Photoshop, and I’m also not sure whether Dimension requires an even more power GPU.I found a decent option within my budget from HP with an i7-8565U chip, 16GB of RAM, and 4GB Nvidia MX250. My only concern is whether the MX250 will be able to efficiently run the programs I previously mentioned or will it fail the job. I'm really hoping someone can help. Premiere was running like a champ, and now, all of a sudden, exports are taking much, much longer. What previously took 5-8 minutes is now taking > 1 hour.  My specs: CPU Ryzen 9 3900XRAM 64 gbGPU GeForce RTX 20602 SSD drives. The weird thing is when it's encoding, the CPU never rises past 10% utilization and the GPU never rises above ~5% or so. I'm encording using h.264.  I've changed every setting I could think of. Software instead of hardware encoding. Switched from performance to memory. I've tried using the media encoder instead of PP, and nothing I do affects this bottleneck. And again, this is a recent phenomenon. When I first started using PP on this machine this summer, it was tearing through encodes. Now it's crawling. Thank you in advance.   

Long time ago on this forum, there was a list of computers that were compatible with the Mercury Playback engine for PP. I've been useing an old Toshiba that has "Known Issues" but that's all I have. Any suggestions for a newer computer for PP? I only use Premier.Thanks,Art

I currently have the Alienware 17 R5i7 8750H 6 coresNvidia 1070 (also has a Internal GPU as well)32 DDR4 Ram1TB SSD With this I have trouble editing the New Sony A7SIII 4k 4:2:2 10bit GOP Long Codecs (S & HS).  It is too glitchy and not worth trying.  Even with proxies it has issues.  Prior to the update my specs were fine for all other 4K files even the 4K 4:2:2 10bit 120fps from Z-cam.  The Prores RAW from Atomos Ninja V I can now edit after updating and tweaking my nVidia settings but start to get problems when playing more than 2 tracks with RAW clips simultaneously.  But still not able to edit the A7SIII files at all. My question is what specs should I be looking for to crush through these files with this new update that is more resource hungry.  I dont want to spend more money than I have to and buy something that I don't need. Would a i7 10th gen with RTX 2070 be fine or should I go up to i9? Also with the new update to PP it

My current laptop bought in 2105 Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro simply can't handle Premiere Pro 2020. I get an unsupported video message and it just glitches so bad. What do people recommend for the best laptops on the market now and what spec should I be looking for?   

I've just gotten off a support chat and they informed me that my poor GPU performance in Premiere 2020 is due to the fact my card is not supported. I have the AORUS 1080ti Waterforce. I was then told that the GeForce GTX 1080ti IS supported.... I'm very confused how those are different.  Need some help here. 100% CPU load with 2% GPU utilization.

Hi! I have a i7 7700 - with 32GB Ripjaws RAM and a GTX1060(running a 32" 4k BenQ display.) Rendering a simple cut video from perepere thats 5 min long at 1080p 60fps takes about 60 hours.I look at task manager, zero of GPU is used. I know there's been some similar threads about this and possible weaker CPU's but I feel like I should not have this issue... anything I can do?  

Hi, I am planning to buy a new laptop and found HP Spectre X360, Intel core i7- 1065G7 10th gen, 13-inch 4K UHD screen , RAM 16GB, Intel Iris Plus graphics, 1TB SSD and 32 GB Intel Optane. I was wondering if Intel Iris Plus graphics would work well with Adobe softwares such as Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, After Effects, and XD?

Help! I have done a ton of research and just can't pull the trigger on a purchase for a new monitor. The basic requirements are obvious as a designer — high resolution, 32-inch size or thereabouts, and good color accuracy. I need to be able to connect to my Macbook Pro. I want something that lasts and has clarity throughout the whole screen, doesn't flicker or get dead pixels after a month (per disappointing reviews, thus my pause to buy so far...). Anyone have one they totally love? Thanks!

I  have a Creative Cloud Photography plan and want to retain my images on both a Thunderbolt external hard drive and an external SSD. I travel away from home for a couple months each year and want to bring an exact copy of the Thunderbolt drive on the SSD for use while I'm away from home. It's much lighter to carry and I'm carrying too much stuff already. I use 'Super Duper' as backup software and a MacBook Pro for computer.. What I imagine doing is traveling with the SSD and adding to it as I photograph and also continue to work with my existing images. Then when I return home I can copy the SSD onto the Thunderbolt drive. I will then, on that day, have two drives with the identical contents. I can imagine some further refinement of my overall back up strategy.I converted to the new plan for Adobe in April 2018 and find my back up dated October 2017 appears to have a different file structure with the 2018 drive displaying the data under date headings with the 2017 drive displayin

NVIDIA GTX 4GB 1660 (Ti or super) GPU gddr6 Some say that 9600k is better with 1660 GPU , some say i5 10400 maynot support gtx 1650 or 1660. But 9600k has no hyperthreading, so its 6 core, 6 thread with 9 m cache, and higher power of 95 W.
