Hi all,I've just recently upgraded my system by buying 2 extra SSD drives, one for Cache files and the other as a working project drive, so now my main C drive only has programs on it, a lot is filled up with all my Creative Cloud Programs, mainly Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition etc. However my C drive is still almost full. It is a 500GB SSD. How can I safely clear out all the files connected to these Adobe programs that are not used anymore and do I need to uninstall old program versions etc? I am worried about losing my program preferences (tool bar layouts etc) any help on deleting old unused files/programs would be greatly received! All the best Jake
Hello, I've had a look at your system requirement page for Adobe Premier Pro 2020 at https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html and it show all the graphic card that support Adobe Premier Pro. However since I've to buy a company laptop for my company, they have ask me if this laptop Lenovo ThinkPad T14s AMD Ryzen 5 with integrated graphic card:"AMD Radeon Vega 8" will be supported by Adobe Premier Pro? OR they will need to go with a laptop with a high end GPU graphic card on this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html ? I would like to know so that I don't waste the company money on buying a laptop that can't even run the Adobe Premier Pro software for video encoding at 1080HD and 4K. Your system requirement page doesn't show this new mobile graphic card type so I need your answer to my question? Please advise?
My system is not by any means slow but I am struggling to playback 4k footage when editing (takes a solid 2 seconds to build the buffer when I hit play even with 1/8 resolution set) and render times for a 4k, 30fps, 10 minute video take upwards of 2 and half hours. Is AMD really that unoptimized for Premiere Pro? It's not my GPU and my system in general kicks ass for gaming (190fps in Overwatch with Ultra settings). Pretty sure the issue here is that the program isn't optimized to run on AMD. Any ideas? I'm still new to Premiere Pro on Windows but my wife's 2017 iMac performs better than my machine and the only reason I can think of is Intel processors are that much more optimized for Premiere Pro.Specs:Windows 10AMD Ryzen 5 3600ASUS Rog Strix RTX 2070 Super32GB G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800)2x512GB Intel 660P SSDsAny help is greatly appreciated. I updated to Premiere Pro 14.3.1 -- it was broken for me. Today updated to Premiere Pro 14.3.2, hoping my issue had been resolved. It's not. I am dropping back to 14.3, which works fine for me. Ditto the issues above for After Effects 14.7.1 (I have not tried to update to 14.7.2.) Ditto for Media Encoder, latest updates. My trouble with Premiere Pro 14.3.2: No video display -- will not play video. If I disable GPU acceleration, I get video display, but every operation is balky -- just saving a project sticks, gives "NOT RESPONDING", eventually saves. It's not useable. With Premiere Pro 14.3.2, as with 14.3.1, 16% of my i7 CPU is used by Premiere Pro when I am doing nothing. If I close Premiere Pro, it leaves a back ground task open that still sucks up 16% of the CPU. I have to kill the task from the task manager. I am running fully up to date Windows 10. Issue may relate to my video adapter. My hardware is old, but Premiere Pro, After Effects and Med
I'm moving to Bermuda for a few months from the US just to get a break from the same four walls. I'm renting a house on the beach. I have lots of film editing to do. I had planned to ship my PC (Lenovo P520 Thinkstation with Intel Xeon W-2255, 1TB Flash drive, 32GB RAM, NVidia Quadro RTX 4000, and Monitor (Dell 3219Q) but I just got a round-trip shipping cost from DHL and it's about $4400, which is more than what this system cost me to buy. Plus I would have to be without it during the time it's shipping which is over a week each way because of customs and shipping schedules. So, since I'm overdue for a new laptop anyway, my Plan B is to buy a new laptop with enough horsepower to run Premiere Pro well and take it in my carry-on luggage, and bring a smaller 24" monitor that I already own in my checked luggage. What do you suggest for a powerful AND RELIABLE laptop? (FWIW I'll also be running FL Studio and Photoshop on it) &nbs
hi i am atish here i am confuse which one is best for video editing xenon e5 1620 or i7 6700 can you tell me which processor best for me
I just bought a bunch of 2020 27" iMac's with the Radeon Pro 5700XT GPU. I'm having all sorts of issues. Windows in AE are bouncing around, GPU error messages in Illustrator. So I sat down to figure out, what iMac is supported by Adobe. Turns out you have to go all the way back to 2017 to find a 27" iMac that has a GPU option that is supported. The latest GPU's are Radeon Pro 5300, Radeon Pro 5700 and Radeon Pro 5700XT. None are supported The 2019 iMacs had the option of Radeon Pro 570X, Radeon Pro 575X and Radeon Pro 580X. Also not supported After much persistence I was able to speak with a senior engineer at Adobe and was told not to export support for the new iMac's anytime soon. If ever? So I got the idea of putting in an eGPU so that I can get a card, like the AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64. Now I have told that Adobe deosn't support eGPU's. Is there any Adobe support for modern Mac's? I'
Okay I will keep it simple , Lets say you want to spend Total of ~$2100 for CPU + GPU for Video Editing PC (ONLY NO GAMING) What is the right balance ? 1- Spend $1400 on 24 cores Thread Ripper 3960X , AND $700 for RTX 3080 , OR 2- Spend $600 on i9-10900K 10 corses CPU , AND $1500 for RTX 3090 The rest of the system will be the same , 128GB RAM , 2 TB NVME SSD , 10TB HDD . Please Experts replies only from people who render movies using 4K resolution . [Moderator note: moved to best forum.]
A few months back Adobe rolled out an update that made export rendering INCREDIBLY fast. It's this specific update I'm referring to: https://youtu.be/dxnQQWUDQBoI have been editing 20 minute long videos, using settings at 5.1, Hardware Encoding and CBR at 100 and those videos would come out to be like 15-20GB and my PC would export them in like 3~5min blazing fast. For the past few videos there's been an issue where it won't do that. The 5.1 quality takes now 2 hours to export, so I tried switching it to 4.1, CBR at 69 and the video size goes from 15~20GB oto like 5~7GB. This is FIFTY minutes. (also using CUDA for export) I have no idea what happened. I did not change anything, I merely took a week off work and I come back and suddenly things aren't working anymore. I've done a clean re-install and no dice. I've also updated Premiere as well. Here are my specsAMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X 24-Core Processor 3.79 GHz32GB of RAMNVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER I
hello all, Hope you're well. Looking to see if someone can help me decide if this is a good buy or not, looking at pre-made computers here in Slovenia and to see if they will be any good. I do mainly editing through Lightroom and Photoshop with most of my work coming through editing 4k footage in Premiere Pro. I am upgrading my laptop and am considering a model with a NVIDIA Quadro T1000 graphics card. Adobe's list of recommended graphics cards (for Premiere Pro) lists the NVIDIA Quadro P1000. I recently heard that the T1000 replaced the P1000, yet I do not see it listed on Adobe's list of recommended graphics cards. Reviewing NVIDIA's specs, its seems the T1000 is superior to the P1000, yet I'm still puzzled why it does not appear on Adobe's list. Anyone have any intel if the T1000 graphics card will work?
hi creative folks! 1. i change all of my software temp/cache folder to D:/temp (so i know where to look/delete)2. so last night i was sitting on my desk. waiting windows 7 deleting all things inside that folder3. at 99% my PC freeze. led lamp showing harddisk-in-use on my pc case turn off. but i san still see everything in my monitor. it's like frozen in place. then i try to push the power button to forcefully shutdown the system. didn't work4. i disconnect the power from power source. and my pc turned off5. this morning. just a minute ago. i tried to change the sata cable. i tried to change the psu cable to the harddisk. now it freeze at windows 7 loading screen (you knowm. the glowing colourful win 7 logo)
I have a user who attempted to setup airpods for audio/microphone via Audio Setup Wizard without much success. Initially, he was able to hear me, then he wasn't. Never got his microphone to work or to recognize his speech. Any suggestions for him?
Hello! I am currently trying to figure out why Premiere Pro isn't fully utilizing my CPU, or anywhere close to it, and I'm a bit stuck. For reference I am using hardware encoding and believe that all of the appropriate settings are checked. Some quick hardware specs that should be relevant:CPU: AMD 3900xGPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 FTW, 8GB GDDR5RAM: 64GB (XMP is enabled)Storage: M.2 SSD (Samsung 970 EVO Plus)OS: 64 Bit Windows 10All drivers are up-to-date to the best of my knowledge, checked today Export Settings:Format: H.264Preset: Match Source - High bitrateResolution: 1440p, 29.97fps Watching task manager during an export, here is what I'm currently seeing a couple minutes in:CPU: 9% usageGPU: 7% usageRAM: 22% usage (14.1gb of 64) I'm fairly cofnused as there doesn't appear to be any sort of a bottleneck, but clearly my system is not being pushed in the slightest to render more quickly. What if anything should I be attempting to do in order to improve this? Thank
There are many posts just like this one seeking advice for the best Ae drive setup, but since most of them are fairly outdated, and tend to be quite contradictory, this one will hopefully end all the confusion. So when Zen3 and Ampère will be released I'm planning to upgrade my complete system, allowing me to revise my drive setup too. Currently I am using a 256gb SATA SSD for my OS and programs, but it also serves as my Media & Cache drive. My projects and source files are on a 1tb HDD and I use a 4tb HDD as a backup drive. Obviously for my new build I'd like to speed things up with a NVME, but I'm not sure what setup would be the best in terms of performance for Ae. I made this table in order to keep things straightforward: In regards to the different setups:Is it better to have faster cache, but it's on the same drive as projects (like in Drive Setup 1), or to have slower cache, but it's seperated from OS and projects? (like in Drive Setup 2)D

Hi All, I've recently bought a new imac 27inch, spec below. I am a relative newby to PP, and enjoy editing with some layers on the footage such as black and white, and a grain as a make a sequence, and refine. One of the reasons for purcashing the imac was for quicker render in to out, when I am moving and editing clips. Please can someone give me the best preference settings for PP and my mac preferences too, to get the best perfomrance out of the machine and the software? I'm aware not to run most other software such as spotify, and google chrome while working in PP, as these slow PP down. Many thanks in advance. So I am currently getting ready to build a custom pc optimized for video editing (mainly premiere, and some after effects). I'm relatively new to custom pc builds and I'm not sure which SSD's to get and how to configure them for the best premiere performance. I've heard that you want to get two SSD's to separate your OS and programs from your video files and current projects, and I'm wondering if this is necessary or not. If it is, how should I configure this when my mother board only has 1 M.2 NVMe slot and the rest are SATA ports? I've heard that the Samsung 970 evo plus 1 TBs are very fast SSD's, so should I put that in the M.2 slot then buy an additional internal SATA SSD? If so, would it be better to put the OS and programs on the internal SATA SSD and put the video files and working projects on the NVMe since its faster? Or is this all unnecessary and I should just put everything on the Samsung 970 evo plus 1 TB M.2?I do professional video and edit a lot of 4k footage, some proje

Our public access station is looking to invest in a new editing work station. A large amount of the videos we edit are long-form multicam edits, usually lasting an hour or more and featuring 2-3 cameras. We are shooting in 1080p 60fps maximum, usually AVCHD or AVC mp4s. Our current set up seems to struggle the most with these types of long-form projects, so I want to make sure we put money into the right components to help these projects run as smooth as possible. Based on my analysis, the CPU seems to be the thing that gets hit hardest with these projects, so I already know that will be a big component to consider. What is considered the current top of the line CPU for video editing and rendering with Adobe? Intel or AMD? Is an i9 worth the price increase for this kind of work, or is a top of the line i7 just as good? What impact, if any, will a GPU have? Does a high end GPU like a RTX 2080Ti have a big impact on editing over say a 2060? How much of an impact does drive speed have? Wi
Hello all, I'm looking for some advice. About a year ago, I built a pretty hefty editing machine. My primary workflow from day-to-day is approximately 50% Premiere, 45% After Effects, and 5% Illustrator/Photoshop. Not surprisingly, I'm finding that my machine bottlenecks when rendering motion-heavy comps in After Effects or when exporting (via Media Encoder) a timeline from Premiere with a lot of Dynamic Links within. Even though I have an entire 1TB SSD drive that is dedicated solely as a c

Hello,I recently bought a notebook for me which has an integrated GPU AMD Radeon R7 M440 on it. The problem is that I cannot select the Open CL option for rendering with my GPU on adobe premiere pro or encoder. I know that Adobe recently blocked some GPU cards for this function, cause they are too old. But here is the deal: thats not the case for AMD Radeon R7 M445 (4GB). On my point of view Its not an obsolete GPU. Why my GPU card is not on the list? Its because there is an incompatibility going on or there is another kind of problem going on, like it hasnt be tested and aproved yet by Adobe? Thanks
Hi everyone! I have recently realized that my laptop is just not enough to work in After Effects. I am mostly working on motion graphics with a max length of 60 seconds (usually 15-30sec videos) and as you can imagine Macbook Air 15' is just not working that well.. or at all. My budget is between 1500 - 1800$ if it can be in the lower range I would be really happy. So far from what I have researched I know I should be looking for CPU (speed over quantity of cores), supported/dedicated GPU, and preferably two RAMs so I can store cache on separate RAM. Rather than picking on my own, I would like to get recommendation from an expert community so I am coming to you for help, thank you in advance!
I'm looking to purchase a new PC laptop. Which one do you recommend? [Moderator note: moved to appropriate forum.]
