Hi everyone!I have recently realized that my laptop is just not enough to work in After Effects/Premiere. I am mostly working on motion graphics with a max length of 60 seconds (usually 15-30sec videos) and as you can imagine Macbook Air 15' is just not working that well.. or at all.My budget is between 1500 - 1800$ if it can be in the lower range I would be really happy. So far from what I have researched I know I should be looking for CPU (speed over quantity of cores), supported/dedicated GPU, and preferably two RAMs so I can store cache on separate RAM.Rather than picking on my own, I would like to get a recommendation from an expert community so I am coming to you for help, thank you in advance!Edit 1: I need recommendations for a laptop, not a work station - I already have that. But since I am traveling a lot I need a laptop that can perform as well. 

Looking to purchase a mid priced laptop that would be happy running Premiere Pro. At this stage I'm not looking for something too expensive so are there any ou folks would recommend to buy or avoid?Thanks

I'm currentl using MSI GL65 Leopard 10SCXR 15.6" 120Hz Gaming Laptop i& 16GB 512GB GTX1650 W10H. I only bought this on the 31/07/2020 however I'm experiencing issues with playback in Premiere pro. I've setup proxies and made quality to the lowest I could (1/8) and toggled proxies. It will play about half videos and then freeze on playback mid video. I'm not too sure why this is happening... If I could get some advice this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. I am about to try my first "Production" set up, with a new PC, so I am setting up PP and PS for the first time on these drives. And I want to get the Scratch Disks optimized. First, Premiere Pro: The official instructions for PremPro say to use a different harddisk for the Scratch Disk and suggest having seperate folders for Video Capture, Video Preview, Audio Capture, Audio Preview, Media Cache, DVD Encoding. Is that correct? Is that the preferred way to set that up, those subfolders inside a Premiere Pro Scratch Disk folder? Photoshop: But the official instructions for Photoshop says using the SSD of the main harddrive for the Scratch Disk is preferred over using a non-SSD harddrive. This, despite Support Community posts saying the opposte (e.g. SSD's have limited write capability, alwasy better to have the Scratch Disk on a seperate drive, etc.) Any advice would be appreciated. Hello!So, i had the GTX 750 Ti 2GB and i upgraded to RX 580 8GB XFX. I tested in Premiere Pro CC 2019 my new GPU. But the playback is so much slow than before and i dont know why. After Effects is working well, but in Premiere is terrible.I already selected the "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL)".My specs:RX 580 8GB XFXRyzen 5 160016GB RAMAny suggestions? Hi This could be a pretty dumb question. My Apologies. I am a beginner. I make 1080p 24fps videos with footages (Some I shoot and some taken from Web) and a lot of animations (especially data/statistical) done in After Effects. My computer (Asus Rogstrix G731 - Laptop) isn't that powerful - i5 9300AH, 24 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1650 4 GB and a Single SSD for everything (OS, Adobe suite and Media). I use Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator and Audition for my work. There is a lot of back and forth between Premiere Pro and After Effects (occassionally with Illustrator too) using dynamic link. My system is struggling a lot during this and often, the After effects and Premiere Pro keeps crashing. As I couldn't afford a new PC right now, I am planing to upgrade my laptop with the following:Increase the RAM to 32 GB from 24 GB (There are 2 slots inside, 1 with 8 GB and other with 16 GB). So basically, every time I launch or playback a video in premiere or after effects my pc bluescreens. The blue screen error is DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations to help me fix this problem? Thanks!Heres some diagnostic info for the problem. System specs:i9 7900x overclocked to 4.6ghz on all 10 cores  ---- note, its stable and i have the issue on default clock speed.2x Nvidia GeForce Titan Xp --- august driver cuz the new ones don't like java for some reason lol2x Samsung 960 Pro 2tb SSD8x 16 G.skill something ram --- tried swapping all dim slots & changing out ram.Asus x299 Motherboard ---- tried to reset biosOS: Windows 10 Build: 1709 (OS Build 16299.192)Side notes: I have reinstalled windows. Hi Guys, My son needs a laptop for his school work and needs to run the latest Adobe PS and Premiere software. Could you tell me if a laptop with Windows 10, Core i7 10th gen CPU, SSD HD, 16GB ram and a dedicated Nvidia GTX 1650 graphic card will work well for the next 3 years? Hello, I'm about to buy the 2020 iMac 27 inch, 3.8GHZ intel core i7 processor, 8GB RAM (will upgrade to 64GB), and wanted to know if there is much difference with graphics cards Radeon Pro 5700 xt vs Radeon Pro 5700 when it comes to rendering and exporting in Premiere?  There seems to be a big jump in quality from the base model to the 5700 xt but not so much to the 5700.  Would appreciate some input. Thanks! 

I was searching for tips to improving video editing performance (Premiere Pro and After Effects) on the internet. I came across these two videos which are quite unique out there. I kept searching blogs and  youtube for some backing up for this but couldn't find any.  But out of desperation, I went and did this anyway. According to my personal experience, I couldn't find much difference in performance. If anything, AE and PP was crashing more often. Although this could be because of multitude of factors as I was nearing completion for this video with a lot of graphics. So, with my limited technical knowledge, I can't blame it on tweaking these settings. So, I am posting it here. Please shed light on this. It would not only help me but many other beginners like me with mediocre PC trying to improve performance. Thanks  

I upgraded to Threadripper 2 - 2920x (12/24)ASUS X399-A / 16GB ddr4CPU utilization never gets above 45% during encoding. Encoding a 39 minute video from 2 cameras (1 is 4K, the other is HD) down to MPEG-DVD.After 45 minutes, it still estimates 1 hour 25 minutes on a 2 pass encode. This is crap for a program that is supposed to be multi threaded. A 6 core, 12 thread intel processor can do a similar encode in 20 minutes.Is it time to switch to a better video program? Is Adobe making PPro CC even more useless?[Moderator note: moved to appropriate forum.]

Hi, I was wondering if an HP pavilion laptop 15t with 16gb and core i7 would work well with after effects. Im not planning on using the laptop for anything other than video editing, so I'd like to know if this is a suitable choice.

Hello!My after effects is lagging(preview) on not hard scenes.Adobe remote sessions cant help me and specialist said me i need to post my problem here.My pc config: Amd ryzen 3700x, nvidia rtx 2060 super, ballistix aes 32 gb, ssd samsung 970 EVO plus 500gb, motherboard asus prime x570-P, hdd seagate barracude 2 tb.Im working on Windows 10 2004. I cant solve this problem for 1 month.I did so many actions,but nothing helped.I really appreciate all your answers and help.Information:ae use 55% of my cpu power maximum,i dont know why.I tested my cpu and gpu and its okay.I think i need do something not in after effects,because i did all i can in settigs,e.t.c.Solving this problem is not easy,please dont write me somehing like "clear cashe". If you need more information please write comment and i will provide all inf.Specialist said that problem in hardware,not in ae,not in project,not in windows account and thats why i dont even know what i can write else.Sorry for my english,

Hello community, I have a budget of 3 - $4,000 USD. Looking to purchase a mobile workstation that will run video editing, motion graphics, and CGI using Premiere Pro and After Effects. I need a lot of horsepower in efforts to cut down on export and preview times. Just got a proposal from Puget Systems ... I work mostly in Premiere, with some Ae/Audition and some Resolve also.   How's this sound? My area of concern is the AMD CPU, for H.264/5 accel, but ... I wanted to ask you if you know what could be the reason that Premiere does not use the GPU of my new AMD Radeon Pro WX 3200, it only uses the GPU when exporting with the sequence part that has bone preview that has been processed before (that is to say that in timelines appears green) but when it is time to export the part of the sequence that has not been processed before (that is, it is seen in red) it stops using the GPU and of course it is very slow. The same happens to me when processing, I edit DSLR and Sony video camera videos, if I ask to process all the video it takes horrors and it is that it practically does not use the GPU at all and I changed the card because Adobe recommended it. Wondering if anyone else is seeing this. I recently upgraded from a GTX 1070 to an RTX 2070. Please Adobe i need your help now.. I installed the adobe after effect 2020 vs 17 but am getting a "system compatibility report"!  I work with an Hp laptop    Processor: intel(R) core(TM) i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz  2.60 GHz   Installed memory:  5.00GB    System type: 64 bit. Operator system     Video  intel(R) HD Graphics 4000.. Adobe after effect says 'system compatibility report; unsupported video driver.. Please I need your help and the best possible solution to the issue. Thanks 

Adobe just released a new premiere pro version which claims that it works better with AMD GPUS. Does that mean AMD GPUS are equivalent to Nvidia GPUS for premiere pro nowadays?

Hi everyone, Am upgrading my mid level PC and have AMD Ryzen 5 3600x with 32gb ram and 1tb ssd card. Now looking to buy a GPU but am bewildered by the choice. Needs to be able to do a bit of 4k editing. Currently does this with GTX 970 but a bit glitchy. Currently looking at RTX 2060 or GTX 1660 so around about £300-350 price range.  Any advice gratefully received. Thank you so much.  

I recently acquired a Mac Pro (Mid 2010) and am running High Sierra with the following specs: Processor: 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel XeonMemory: 24 GB 1066 MHz DDR3Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB I tried running the latest version of Adobe Premiere and it ends up performing ridiculously slowly, eventually I get the spinning wheel of death and have to force quit. I know nothing about graphics cards and such. Do I need to update my graphics card to be able to use Premiere? Or would it help to run a previous version of Premiere instead? Any input on what I can do to my comptuer to get it to run adobe properly is much appreciated.  I traded a 2015 iMac with 32GB of RAM for this Mac Pro and now I'm wondering if I should have kept the iMac instead. It seemed to run Premiere just fine.
