I upgraded to Threadripper 2 - 2920x (12/24)ASUS X399-A / 16GB ddr4CPU utilization never gets above 45% during encoding. Encoding a 39 minute video from 2 cameras (1 is 4K, the other is HD) down to MPEG-DVD.After 45 minutes, it still estimates 1 hour 25 minutes on a 2 pass encode. This is crap for a program that is supposed to be multi threaded. A 6 core, 12 thread intel processor can do a similar encode in 20 minutes.Is it time to switch to a better video program? Is Adobe making PPro CC even more useless?[Moderator note: moved to appropriate forum.]

Hi, I was wondering if an HP pavilion laptop 15t with 16gb and core i7 would work well with after effects. Im not planning on using the laptop for anything other than video editing, so I'd like to know if this is a suitable choice.

Hello!My after effects is lagging(preview) on not hard scenes.Adobe remote sessions cant help me and specialist said me i need to post my problem here.My pc config: Amd ryzen 3700x, nvidia rtx 2060 super, ballistix aes 32 gb, ssd samsung 970 EVO plus 500gb, motherboard asus prime x570-P, hdd seagate barracude 2 tb.Im working on Windows 10 2004. I cant solve this problem for 1 month.I did so many actions,but nothing helped.I really appreciate all your answers and help.Information:ae use 55% of my cpu power maximum,i dont know why.I tested my cpu and gpu and its okay.I think i need do something not in after effects,because i did all i can in settigs,e.t.c.Solving this problem is not easy,please dont write me somehing like "clear cashe". If you need more information please write comment and i will provide all inf.Specialist said that problem in hardware,not in ae,not in project,not in windows account and thats why i dont even know what i can write else.Sorry for my english,

Hello community, I have a budget of 3 - $4,000 USD. Looking to purchase a mobile workstation that will run video editing, motion graphics, and CGI using Premiere Pro and After Effects. I need a lot of horsepower in efforts to cut down on export and preview times. Just got a proposal from Puget Systems ... I work mostly in Premiere, with some Ae/Audition and some Resolve also.   How's this sound? My area of concern is the AMD CPU, for H.264/5 accel, but ... I wanted to ask you if you know what could be the reason that Premiere does not use the GPU of my new AMD Radeon Pro WX 3200, it only uses the GPU when exporting with the sequence part that has bone preview that has been processed before (that is to say that in timelines appears green) but when it is time to export the part of the sequence that has not been processed before (that is, it is seen in red) it stops using the GPU and of course it is very slow. The same happens to me when processing, I edit DSLR and Sony video camera videos, if I ask to process all the video it takes horrors and it is that it practically does not use the GPU at all and I changed the card because Adobe recommended it. It goes without saying that I have it, I think everything is configured as recommended, and everything is up-to-date (both Windows, drivers, and Premiere). Wondering if anyone else is seeing this. I recently upgraded from a GTX 1070 to an RTX 2070. I wasn't expecting huge improvements, but definitely didn't expect to see my test render take about 12.5% LONGER after the upgrade.Any insights on what would/could be causing this?System Specs:Intel i9 9900kRTX 2070 EVGA XC32 GB DDR4 3000Mhz

Please Adobe i need your help now.. I installed the adobe after effect 2020 vs 17 but am getting a "system compatibility report"!  I work with an Hp laptop    Processor: intel(R) core(TM) i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz  2.60 GHz   Installed memory:  5.00GB    System type: 64 bit. Operator system     Video  intel(R) HD Graphics 4000.. Adobe after effect says 'system compatibility report; unsupported video driver.. Please I need your help and the best possible solution to the issue. Thanks 

Adobe just released a new premiere pro version which claims that it works better with AMD GPUS. Does that mean AMD GPUS are equivalent to Nvidia GPUS for premiere pro nowadays?

Hi everyone, Am upgrading my mid level PC and have AMD Ryzen 5 3600x with 32gb ram and 1tb ssd card. Now looking to buy a GPU but am bewildered by the choice. Needs to be able to do a bit of 4k editing. Currently does this with GTX 970 but a bit glitchy. Currently looking at RTX 2060 or GTX 1660 so around about £300-350 price range.  Any advice gratefully received. Thank you so much.  

I recently acquired a Mac Pro (Mid 2010) and am running High Sierra with the following specs: Processor: 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel XeonMemory: 24 GB 1066 MHz DDR3Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB I tried running the latest version of Adobe Premiere and it ends up performing ridiculously slowly, eventually I get the spinning wheel of death and have to force quit. I know nothing about graphics cards and such. Do I need to update my graphics card to be able to use Premiere? Or would it help to run a previous version of Premiere instead? Any input on what I can do to my comptuer to get it to run adobe properly is much appreciated.  I traded a 2015 iMac with 32GB of RAM for this Mac Pro and now I'm wondering if I should have kept the iMac instead. It seemed to run Premiere just fine.

I am planning to buy an iMac but due to lockdown the top model in iMac 21.5 inch is not available so I am thinking to go for a second variant in 21.5 inch. Please suggest. I require it for basic video editing. 

Hey guys, I amgetting a computer built for me and computer specs confuse me. I'll be editing mostly 4K projects, drone, Sony a7iii and GoPro footage in premiere pro and after effects. I will also he doing a lot in Lightroom and photoshop. These are the specs I got suggested for my budget. I come across the Mercury software render only thing in the project settings which is a bummer... and really wanted my RX 570 8GB to do the work... and this worked for me. Installed latest drivers from the Radeon site with the automatic installer software. A couple reboots later and it was installed. Also opened the registry editor at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors and changed IntelOpenCL64.dll from 0 to 1 On this older but still good working rig:I7-4770K 16GB RX 570Crucial BX500 1TB SSDWIN 10 Hope this helps someone else.   

I am thinking of getting the Asus Zephyrus G14 with the 4800hs and a GTX 1650ti. I have been watching videos and articles saying that Intel is better for video editing because of QuickSync. But now I've seen more reviews talking about the new update with GPU-accelerated rendering, which is supposed to help Ryzen CPUs with render times. The main question I have is, will the laptop have good video playback in Premiere Pro and After Effects (Not much shuttering and able to handle effects). Render times don't matter as much to me :).

I need to run Premiere Pro on a system with Intel Graphics 4600Radeon R7 25016GB RamIntel I7-4770 , 3.4GHzThe system is only required to do basic Video Editing task ( use of After Effects is also very occassionaly required). I realise the 4600 is not supported by Adobe, however any advice would be much appreciated.  

Hi guys! I'm seeing that when rendering en media encoder, and also in premiere. the sistem is not working as muchas as it could. My CPU, GPU, and RAM Memory are under 30% while rendering a 1hour video in H264. I understand this means my render times should be shorter if using full capabilitie. I have an Intel i7-4790K CPU 32GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 with 6GB  could there be something wrong in my config? thanks!!!

Hello!Does anybody here has experiences with working with 4k source material on a Macbook Pro 2012 (mid 2012) unibody?Is that possible anyway?My question acutally relates to two different Macbooks:1. Macbook Pro 13 (mid 2012), i5 2.5Ghz, 1 TB SSD, 8GB RAM (my current macbook)2. Macbook Pro 15 (mid 2012), i7, 2.6Ghz, 16 GB RAMFor full HD my current Macbook (no. 1) was good enough, as I only use it for cutting simple videos (only one camera, no effects).With 4k video sources I don't get a flued video preview, so I can't work with it.I would be great to know, if upgrading to a used Macbook Pro 15 (no. 2) unibody would allow me to do this. I know that the latest unibody models from 2012 have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M. I really love these old unibody macbooks due to their upgrading and maintanance options, so I would prefer it over a newer retina model.Hope anyone can help!?

Hi, If my iGPU is enabled, Premiere Pro uses it for scrubbing. This results in highly delayed scrubbing performance. If I disable the iGPU, Premiere Pro uses the CPU for scrubbing. This results in faster scrubbing performance but very high CPU utilization. 1. Can I tell Premiere Pro not to use the iGPU, without having to disable the iGPU in the Windows device manager?2. Can Premiere Pro utilize CUDA/Nvidia GPU for scrubbing acceleration? Thank you!
