Hi gals and guys, I will attempt to give one pragmatic answer to the ever going debate on whether Premiere Pro cache/source files should be on NVME SSD or SATA3 SSD etc. This is NOT a lab benchmark but a real world home user’s hands-on observation. The point here is to figure out simply and quickly the best strategy according to various scenarii. This being said, NVME drives being no longer expensive and using a variety of slots (M.2 and PCIe), the “very best” strategy is 3 NVME drives dedicated to Premiere Pro. Basta! End of the discussion and you can focus on creative things. I will not cover RAID arrays. If your budget allows RAID technology, this input is not for you. But! if you are like me and your platform and budget doesn’t (yet) allow such wholesomeness, source+cache files on a single dedicated NVME is the next better choice. I have a maxed out 16in MBP running the latest Mac OS X and Creative Cloud. My EGPU is a Razr Chroma with a 5700XT.I've set Premiere and After Effects to "Prefer External GPU", but it seems as though it is still relying solely on my internal GPU while I am working. The only time I see an uptick is when I render, but it still seems to be bottlenecking on something -- my system CPU, GPU, Memory and Disk are only getting used at 50% max and I'm having 10min+ render times. This is pretty frustrating considering Davinci and FCP X have no problem utilizing this setup and it is supposed to be supported by Premiere. 

I have done with a wedding project and exported file to mp4 with full HD resolution and everything was ok after one year the agent told me that video shows green lines and freeze during playing I don't know why this happened and this is the second time I see something like that

Hi,    Looking for some advice, we've just switched from a 2010 Mac pro to a Threadripper 3970x/RTX 2080 Super build with 64GB of Memory, and the switch has been poor to say the least.    We're only dealing with 1080p footage but we've seen usability drop as we've moved from the Mac across to the Threadripper with an increase in dropped frames sometimes even on single clips with no effects.   The reason we switched was predominantly due to the fact that the Mac was starting to struggle with 5/6 camera multi-cam footage but the Threadripper struggles to manage it even to a level on par with the 10 year old Mac.   Both systems are running the same up to date version of CC and the Threadripper has NVMe SSDs for footage, whilst the Mac is still coping with HDDs. Even on exporting we're not seeing the gains we expected.    We've run a number of benchmarks to make sure the HW is not the issue and they all came back with th

best computer configuration for adobe after effects and premiere pro CC.

So I have an HP z420 and I got a Xeon e5-1680 8 core 16 thread for it.  Currently, it has the E5-1620 4 core base speed 3.7G and turbo 4GGz  Each core base speed is 3GHz and turbo 4Ghz with an EVGA GTX 1060 with 6g of ram.  It has 1260 Cuda cores. Once I install the 8 core I should see a more efficient performance boost with Premiere? I also have 64G ECC ram.

Hello everyone I've been using Premiere Pro with my Nvidia GTX 2080 Super and i9-9900k, encoding with CUDA in H264 for almost a year now (I edit VR video for work) now the new NVENC update promised groundbreaking support for hardware acceleration on Nvidia cards with 3x faster encoding.. great! well.. thing is, trying to encode with my usual, unchanged OLD reliable settings, with the NEWEST Nvidia driver, there's no way I can encode because Premiere says "your system hardware does not support hardware acceleration" for the current export settings (WHAT? I've been using these exact same settings with this exact same hardware countless times in the last year) so to use "hardware acceleration" I'm forced to choose H265 instead (which is not what I want because it's not as compatible) and it's also way slower than H264 although if I choose "software acceleration" and continue with my old settings, then in Media Encoder the renderer is Mercury hardware CUDA, but in

Hiya, I am new to video editing and using Premiere Pro and I had some problems with my video being glitchy and choppy which meant I wasnt able to record the voiceovers that I wanted to do, I tried so many different things over the course of the last week and I have come to realise my laptop isnt good enough to support video editing (only 4GB RAM) I have done some research into what laptops need in order to be able to support video editing with apps such as premiere pro and I need at least 8GB RAM as well as other things but from doing research ive noticed RAM is the most important factor. Can anyone confirm a faster graphic card (say the RTX 2080 super) will perform better than 2060 super now that the GPU is being utilised. Also I did a few export test with the latest update (with Hardware Encoding enabled of course), I found that only around 15-30% of the GPU is being used (4k H264 timeline with LUT). However when export another timeline without LUT applied, the GPU usage jumped to ~70%ish - Weird! I've seen a youtube video showing 100% of RTX 2070 super being used while exporting with the new update + hardware encoding.

I've been tearing my hair out trying to convince BenQ that they have a problem with the profiles generated by Palette Master Element (PME) on the SW2700PT (but it may affect other models).  To me the problem is immediately apparent if you calibrate and profile to a non-native gamut, but BenQ insist all is correct.  Please could other owners take a look at this.If you have a more recent monitor (manufactured after about October last year) you should see an option in PME to calibrate and profile to RGB primaries other than the native gamut.  Try calibrating to sRGB primaries, then use the calibration with the sRGB profile created by PME.  On my system the images rendered by colour managed applications appear very de-saturated.  The reason is, the profile has been created for the native gamut, not the sRGB gamut.  In fact, I think PME always creates a profile for the native gamut, regardless of the calibrated gamut.The calibrated gamuts appear to be correct (

With COVID-19 impacting our ability to work in-office, my company has set up Microsoft Azure virtual machines, allowing us to continue our work in Premiere and After Effects remotely. We connect to this through the Teradici PCoIP client. This is all great and I feel fortunate that I'm able to continue working from home. The problem is that it just doesn't work well. On the plus side, our IT dept is open to scaling the power of these machines however we need them to. Here's the current setup:- Windows 10 Enterprise, 64-bit- Premiere Pro v14.0 (Magician)- CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2690 v4 @2.60GHz - RAM: 112GB (I don't have more detailed specs on DDR speed or architecture unfortunately)- GRAPHICS: NVIDIA Tesla M60- Virtual machine connects remotely via a 1GB hardline to our AVID Nexis media storage at the office. Issues:Ruling out internet speed/connection issues, I'd appreciate some assistance troubleshooting the hardware to give us a more usable workflow. Hi everyone, Hope this is okay to post here. I'm wondering what sort of specs I need to be looking out for on a MacBook Pro to be able to run Premier Pro as efficiently as possible? I'm currently video editing on my 2014 MacBook Pro and it's lagging so much, even with proxies. If I upgrade, what specs affect the speed of how I can process video footage? I'm aware of terms like RAM etc but have no idea how they actually relate to anything Thanks in advance!Hayley

I just got my new surface book 2 yesterday.. I have been doing all my video editing on my desktop for the past while, so I was quite excited when my new laptop came in and I could finally be mobile. In fact I was planning on using my laptop as my main system for video editing as my desktop is usually used as a system for gaming. Anyway so the laptop is performing like shit, I hope this is not the laptop but maybe a problem with the adobe software (I just dropped $2,600 on this seemingly piece of crap and I don't want to lose my money). For the first bit that I was using it, premiere was working just fine albeit with some stuttering which was surprising because I was working with 1080p footage and never had problems with 1080p previously. Now when I use Premiere, it opens regularly but once I load my project the gates of lag swing wide open, the program doesn't fully load, the slider at the bottom of the video timeline doesn't respond, I can't get through 5 seconds of video without heav
