Hey guys!I am in a bit of a conundrum. Or my friend is, I should say.My friend bought an Acer Predator Helios 500 laptop which he will primarily use with Premiere Pro. However we both ahve had multiple problems with the program, first being that it STILL crashes while going from and to full screen. the video in the preview window is extremely choopy and the sound cuts out a little bit (but the last one isn't that big of a problem).At first we had problems with the renderer being greyed.We then applied the solution found in these forums by going to Regedit and changing the value in the Vendors tab. But there was a slight difference there - we didn't have an Intel option available so we just put the value of 1 next to the AMD one. Maybe that was the problem? But it definitely helped. What to do? I'm sure the GPU is strong enough to handle PP. Thank you for your help!

Hello,I'm new to all the Premiere Pro and video editing stuff.I thought that I own a pretty performat machineAcer Notebooki7-7700 HQ 2,8 GHz16 gig RamNVIDIA 1060 GTX with 6 GByte of dedicated Video RAMTwo SSDand the machine isn't able to decode 4k 30 p Video in reduced (1/8) resolution in realtime.Export of 10 min 1080p content took 14hrs.I have checked that CUDA is active in the Premiere Pro settings & Media endoder settings. Got no idea what the bottleneck could be. Maybe someone out there can help me.ThxBjörn

I get bogged down trying to get a specific build listed for comment. I've seen how much difference small changes can make in the advantages and disadvantages of various component combinations. So let me start with the bigger picture.I'm willing to spend reasonable $s for what may be my last serious build. I'm now mostly retired, but have a lot of retirement projects of my own to do. So think Puget $6,000ish, but I like to build my own. I don't want to spend money unnecessarily, so willing to still look at i7s for example. But I'd like to build in some future-proofing, and I run a lot of different programs. Not really an over-clocker, but you never know...For example, i9 7940X, X299 (Gigabyte Designare vs Asus what? vs ?), 64GB DDR4 2666, SSD system drive (Samsung 860), 2X SSD M.2 (Samsung 970 Pro 1TB), GTX 1080ti (EVGA vs what? vs 1070 vs?).Or i7 7820X with same other components.Next tier of considerations: Case (roomy, quiet), Power supply (calculate size), CPU Cooling type.Thanks, St

HelloI'm after some help in identifying if my current computer setup is going to be okay to run Premier Pro CC (October 2018 (13.0) release).The published system requirements list an Intel 6th Gen or newer CPU.  I have a Intel Xeon E5-2697v3 processor.  Will this be okay?For the video card I have the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 AERO 8G OC.  I think the requirements now list the 1080 Ti and not the 1080.  Will my installed 1080 cause any problems?All other specification inside the current machine I'm happy with.  It's the processor and video card I'm not 100% on. Hello,I'm currently buying new laptop and as you can guess by the title, I'd like to ask some advice regarding CPU/GPU combination. I've narrowed my choices down to two:1) i7-8750H + GeForce GTX 1050 Ti2) i7-7700HQ + GeForce GTX 1060My first instinct was telling me to go for better CPU for video editing, but then I stumbled upon similar thred that suggests that CPU/GPU balance is important and bad balance can even be counter-productive. Should I then go for (2) to have better balance?Note: There's also the same model with i7-8750H + GeForce GTX 1060, but it's quite expensive. How would this combo do? Should I bite the bullet and expand my bugget? Note that I'm beginner, not a professional or semi-professional by any stretch. One of the reasons I'm buying new laptop is so that I can actually run the software at all, my current machine struggles even with Photoshop.Thank you

PPBM - I've been trying to do this test seemingly for years - i keep coming back to it once a year or so but there's always some issue, both with the site and figuring out how to run it and generate results. I finally got it to generate some results, but i have no idea how to interpret them. The PPBM site is kind of a mess and the PPBM charts don't display (even though the top 25, 26-50 do for whatever reason after updating/installing Adobe flash 6). I think the original creator has passed and i don't mean any disrespect, but i really have no frame of reference for interpreting these results that i've stayed up half the night trying to generate. Disk I/O = 298 secondsPremiere Disk write rate: 124.47 MB/sH264 timeline = 386 secondsMPE gain 589/49=12i7 2600k @ 4.6GHz32gb RAMGTX750tiproject disk is m.2 drive getting up to  1300MB/s sequential read and OS drive is a regular SATA SSD.Any help would be greatly appreciated. after looking at the insane prices of getting something like a Drobo or other RAID, i've decided to make a ultra-budget RAID array in my PC. Primarily for storing the bulk of my files, but it should probably also be fast enough to do some editing off of.I'm doing six 2TB 7200 enterprise drives in RAID 10, giving me 6TB of storage and (hopefully) something along the lines of 4-5x read speed of the individual drives? I'm not clear on this either - some sources say that RAID 1 + 0 will give me N-1x the read speed, some say 6x and 3x write speed (, Free RAID Calculator - Caclulate RAID Array Capacity and Fault Tolerance. ) and others say only something like 2-3x read speed. To make this worthwhile and do what i need to do, i would like it to do something like the former - more than 4x read and at least twice the write of a single disc. They are Hitachi drives and were used in a server or RAID setup before but are good working order in terms of passing something like a CrystalDiskInfo check

So i've been using a GTX750ti since i built my (budget) build. I have no idea where to start in terms of GPU searching. The numbers (1080, 570, etc) don't seem to directly correspond to increased quality. My question is this - what are common "budget" GPUs that people are using for video editing that perform well. Just to clarify I don't care about the latest models. Id much rather buy second hand and get something a couple years older. I paid maybe like $60 for my 750ti and honestly i have no real complaints with it. But i'm approaching the point where i'd like an upgrade as mine is a bit dated.I don't have a specific budget. I'd like something decent that will last for my next build, but i'm also not trying to drop like $400 on a GPU right now. I'd be getting a Nvidia GeForce GTX of some sort.Also, which specs are most important for video editing? I probably want something with at least 4GB vRam. I know that CUDA cores are relatively important? Also, is it true that just because a GP

I have a "HIS AMD HD Radeon 7950 3GB", I tried to enable openCL graphics support in premiere pro but not able to(have updated driver of GPU and motherboard, added required .txt file).GPUSniffer says "did not find any devices that support GPU computation " & premiere pro is stuck on "Mercury Playback Engine software only"My Question is - Will premiere pro/Adobe Media Encoder benefit from my graphics card? Hi people!I heard from a technician that using Windows 10 Pro for Workstations in conjunction with Premiere Pro would make a difference compared to using it with Windows 10 Pro or the "lower" version.The advantages would be related to better overall performance, less memory usage for execution (which also guarantees, in the end, a significant increase of performance), greater fidelity in the use of the files and even correction for some corruptions that are possible ...Would it be an exaggeration?Currently I use the Windows 10 Pro version. After the idea that he passed me, I was tempted to migrate to the version for Workstations ... Has anyone had any experience? Hi,I would like to purchase an alternative to Cintiq, such as a graphic display tablet by Huion Kamvas. My laptop(Acer? I think) is seriously under powered for adobe software.I would like bluetooth, light weight, SSD, fast processor. I can't afford Apple as they are so out of my price range. What would you suggest I consider for the laptop....I don't care about brand, just performance. I usually buy on Amazon, but even a refurbished one on eBay or the manufacturer's website would be acceptable.Thanks in advance for your help!
