Hey dear Fellowship of the Media,I have my OS Windows 65bit on a 256 GB ToshibaI set up my Project, Media Cache and Scratch all onto my emtpy 512 GB NVME (212GB left) It is a Samsung SM961 512 GBIs this smart? (I followed some guides on the internet.) Should I try different combinations?I got another 1 TB HDD for other Software and Clips.I promised myself a huge boost from installing the NVME. Before today I edited on my 7200RPM HDD.I cant say I notice a difference. I have a Ryzen 1600 a B350 Gaming Pro Motherboard.Did I do something wrong?If I benchmark my Nvme the read and write speeds are amazing. 3.3 Gb/s and 1.8 Gb/s.If i copy however something from my nvme to my SSD or vice versa i get write speeds of 60 mb/s or 130mb/s. (It peaks to write with 1.3GB/s and then dropps to 600Mbs to 400 and stays very low at 120Mb/s. What might be the bottleneck for my NVME Drive? Are there Drivers that I need to install?I ordered a heatsink for my nvme since it does get a little hot. But that can'

So here's my predicament...I'm a videographer with a Creative Cloud subscription. My primary app usage, far and away, is Premiere Pro. I have dabbled in After Effects a time or two but quickly noticed how it seems to choke up my laptop. Additionally, I recently upgraded to a camera that shoots 4K footage and have been pleasantly surprised as to how my machine can handle and render the footage. That being said, I've had my computer for nearly 5 years now and feel it's time to either buy a new one or finally upgrade my internal hard drive to an SSD. I've already maxed out the RAM and know that I can't make any upgrades to the processor or graphics card, due to the limited upgrade capability of the laptop. Any advice on whether an SSD should help me get a few more good years from the laptop or if the money would better be used towards a new setup (thinking about finally going Mac) would be super helpful. Hi all!I'm in the process of sitting down to build my 4k-6k editing and After Effects PC workstation and I'm in a quandary as to the best way to optimize the hardware configuration for my particular x299 motherboard to get the best performance and fewest bottlenecks.  I would appreciate any advice from the computer experts here.Ideally, I would like to do green screen compositing and light graphics and animation work in After Effects CC, and edit, color correct, and mix/master audio in DaVinci Resolve 14 Studio.  I may stick with Premiere Pro CC in order to finish editing a project already in-progress and then switch over to Resolve once it's completed.Current video codecs will be 4k and possibly 6k DNxHR and Cineform 10 bit, 4:2:2 with exports from 1080p to 6k DNxHR, H.264, and H.265 depending on the deliverable needed.I have built my own computers in the past, but the move to M.2 SSD drives and sorting out PCI and CPU lane and SATA III port conflicts, and which M.2 drive sh

Was ich dabei vergessen habe, mein Laptop entspricht zwar den Systemvoraussetzungen, es ist aber unmöglich damit zu arbeiten beziehungsweise kann ich mich nicht nach meinen Ideenfluss entfalten.Möchte zukünftlich in Full HD visualisierende Effekte oder Motion Graphic vornehmen. I am looking at buying a  HP Zbook 15 Gen2 with the Intel i7-4800MQ 2.7GHz CPU with Nvidia Quadro K1100M Video Card.   I will be installing a 1tb ssd into anything i buy and 16gb of ram.  Is this CPU/GPU combo able to play back and edit 4k video? (sony a6500 and goPro hero5 cameras)  or will I get better performance out of run of the mill ultrabook with a 7th gen i7 7200u with an nvidia 900 series gpu?    more cores older gen, vs new gen less cores is the basic question.  My usual workflow is 10 min gopro videos 2 lays of video, titles  and a 2 layers of audio exported to h.264.  This will be the edit videos in the hotel room system and not a primary machine so cheap but effective. At our production house we have 2 workstations both with the same specsIntel Xeon E5-2660 v3 @ 2.60GHz 10 Core 20 Threads64GB of Ram 2133MHzNvidia Quadro K5200 8GBThey have never been as fast as they should be even when just editing HD footage, and it's very laggy with 4k or video with graphics layed on top.Any ideas why they may be, one of the workstations is faster than the other which is odd as they are identical.

I need a laptop around $1100. Precision 15 7000 Series (7510) is a workstation laptop but doesn't seem to have the fastest GPU.Dell 15.6" Inspiron 15 7000 and Acer Predator Helios 300 seem to be very similar. Since several months ago, we've been piping through alot more intensive graphics and videos and the render times and saving have been sluggish. Hi there - I've been trying to get some answers to what kind of system I would need to run AE on other forums, but eventually realised I should come here. I'm going for my first build (rather excited about it), but I don't have mega-money to splash around. I'm going to be doing pretty basic stuff with AE - 2d animation for explainer videos, infographics, that sort of thing - so no heavy-duty video rendering. I work mainly for motion design with sometimes 3D. My question is it's better to buy like a Imac 27'', 4,2GHz, 32Go, for about 2900 euros or going to have the new "basic" Imac pro 2017, 4,2GHz turboboost, 32Go, with the new vega graphic card for 4900 euros. I use Premier to edit, mostly my own HD footage. Currently HD, but would like to be 4K ready is case a client demands it.
