Adobe acrobat crashed, failed to autosave, did not ask to recover upon reopening. How do I recover edited document?

My settings call for autosaving every 5 minutes. This did not happen. After spending nearly 3 hours editing this pdf, adobe crashed and now it's gone. Is there anyway to recover the doc?

    Hello Taylorboebaylor,

We're sorry for the trouble you had and sorry for the delayed response, you may check the autosave file under the user temp folder, which will depend on your version of Acrobat and OS. If you're on a Windows machine and have a relatively new version it should be under:

    C:/Users/<YOUR USER NAME>/AppData/Local/Temp/Adobe/Acrobat/<VERSION NUMBER>/

It might not be an actual PDF file, though, but some other format.

However, if such a file exists then Acrobat should ask you whether you want to recover it when you re-open it.

If the autosave feature is turned on in the preferences, Acrobat/Reader gives you the option to recover the PDF file when you launch the application. However, it doesn't create auto-save documents like other applications.

And there isn't much can be done to recover the file.

You may use Adobe wish form to file a feature request or file modification request on existing features Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance,

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.
