We use desktop PCs with multiple monitors (2 or 3) and Windows 11. Windows has a feature that it tries to remember on which monitor was app running last time it was closed, and when you open it again it will launch on that same monitor. But this feature doesn’t work properly with Adobe Reader, and since monday it’s kinda broken. Let me explainUser1: three monitors side by side, center is main. User opens some pdf that he never opened, it opens on center monitor. He moves the window to left monitor and closes it. He opens again the same pdf and it opens on the left monior. He closes it and opens different pdf that he never opened before. It opens on center monitor. He moves it to right monitor, closes it and openes again. It opens on right monitor. He closes it and opens previous pdf. It opens on left screen. User is annoyed 🙄.User2: two monitors, right one is main, left one is secondary, new Adobe UI. I have a few users experiencing issues with acrobat and pro. Where if I have a pdf open that is saved to the c drive. I then attempt to open a pdf from outlook it does not open a second tab with that pdf nor does it open a window with that pdf. The only thing I can see is when I have task manager open there is a instance of acrobat opening in the background processes, but no window gets created for me to see. The strange part is if I have acrobat closed then open a pdf from outlook first. I can then open any number of pdf correctly from any drive or from outlook. It only happens when the user opens a pdf from their c drive first. This issue has persisted through reinstalls of acrobat on multiple different devices. Let me know if I can provide any more information about this issue. The devices are all win 11 most recent updates installed. Most recent version of acrobat/ pro depending on the user. This is also happening on my work device although Idon't use acrobat that much 

Hello everyone,for the past few weeks (possibly since the January Windows Update), we have been getting the following error message randomly when opening different PDFs:'The font ArialMT cannot be found or created'.It doesn't matter whether the PDF file is being opened on a network share or locally.Once the user clicks 'OK', the error disappears after reopening the same file.Affected users so far: 50 Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.7623) Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2025.001.21111 Continous ReleaseAny help would be appreciate Message displayed (german) 

This is not a question, but a suggestion. This product's version numbering scheme is very confusing and should be simplified. Currently, the version number is a code of YYYY.nnn.nnnn, where Y is the year and n is a number. Use case: It's not intuitive to ask someone to download version “YYYY.nnn.nnnn"  

I installed Acrobat Reader on a Windows 11 machine and am getting a view in which all tools are spread across the screen at different locations as shown in the first image below.Also, some tools are floating around. which I want to avoid.  I want to change the view back to old one I am used to as in second image below. How to get the view on the second imave on a Windows 11 machine. 

OK, this is getting no response at all from Adobe, so I am going to ask this question again as, while one of the 2 other posts on this subject says “answered” it is NOT answered. So, I am going to open a 3rd post on this subject to see if someone at Adobe will care to comment. ALL of the links in Reader open in Edge and not the default browser (Chrome in my case). When I say all, I mean even the help links like the link I opened to get to this forum (yes, I’m in edge now just trying to get the real answer) and the one in the image below:And yes, I have tried EVERYTHING referenced in all the attempts to fix this when you Google the issue. NOTHING fixes this “bug”, but surely someone out there knows how to fix this so we can all get on with life. Thanks - John

I use a new DELL laptop with WIN11, and after some dayes, adobe acrobat is opening only as admin and only if enhanced security/protected mode is offFirst, everything worked, but then, I do not know why, it does not react expept as a admin.With processMonitor, I could find no trace of the reader if I try to start it as a standard use,I tried all possible folder  and registry permission issues with ChatGPT, but nothing helped.Alos reinstalling even with the cleaner tool didn't change anything!

I have a number of documents with links to youtube videos. These had worked a few weeks ago, provided we exported the doc to a PDF rather than 'saved as'. Please can you advise how I make these links now work? Thanks....

Hi Everyone, I am currently Downloading PDF Files from my Gmail account to my Desktop.Up until today, I was able to Download these files no problem. Today however, everytime that a PDF Files completes downloading from Gmail to my Desktop, Adobe Acrobat Automatically Opens the file on my Computer. This is Driving me MAD! Is there any way to stop this from happening? I've attached a file that I got from a Reddit post - where other people were having this issue.It seems that in the past, that there was a check-box option in Acrobat Reader under Edit -> Preferences -> General  to turn off this annoying features. But this option is missing on my Acrobat Reader.

Hi all. I'm posting this in the hopes that it might help someone else out that may have the same symptom. Last week, my Adobe Reader stopped printing. Nothing I did produced any result. Not hitting the print icon. Not hitting CTRL+P. Not selecting "print" from the drop-down menu. There was no error message. No nothing. It was as if I hadn't clicked anything. I tried repairing the installation, no help. I've rebooted the computer many times over the last couple weeks. Here's what finally fixed it. On a whim, I went to Windows Explorer, right-clicked on the PDF file, and selected "print" from Explorers context menu. Adobe flashed open for a sec, and the document printed. Now, Adobe Reader prints as it always used to do. There must have been some little "glitch" or something going on.Problem solved. Hope this helps someone else.Artie

Not a question, but a suggestion that this forum should be called exactly what the product is designated “Adobe Acrobat Reader”.

I noticed that the ability to delete pages is still a premium feature. That's ridiculous in 2026! Could you reconsider the FREE vs. PRO options? Many people have the Reader app, and basic tasks should be included, not just viewing.Years ago, I also requested a searchable settings menu. Nothing has changed. Sad.

We had a user report an issue to our helpdesk yesterday, she was downloading a PDF document via Chrome, and the document was opening up in Adobe Reader automatically. We checked the settings in Chrome and it was not set to automatically open Adobe Reader after downloading the PDF, and the Adobe Reader extension was not installed, so we weren't sure why this was happening. On further investigation we found a setting in the Preferences - General tab called "Open PDFs automatically in Reader when they are downloaded in Chrome browser". Initially when we tried to turn this setting off it would re-enable itself when we closed and reopened Adobe Reader, however clearing the user's preferences from the registry and trying again worked for us. The setting is under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\AutoDocOpen - bIsAutoDocOpenFeatureEnabled dWord 1. The user is on the current DC build 2003.006.20360. Has anybody else experienced this, and is there a

Hello, Since the latest update on 12 febrary 2026, we have some bug :  We receive calls for tenders via PDF forms, we fill in the required fields, and we accept the offer, which creates an email in the drafts folder of our Gmail account with the completed data, the address of the recipient of the offer, and the PDF attached to the email.But since the update, it no longer works, even though I have checked several settings:The default email application is GMAIL.The email address is configured in Acrobat in the messaging section.I tape next : Accrobat Reader waiting with this screen and open a new google web page.i have the latest version : With a computer on  Windows 11 25H2 Can you help me ? 

For many years I have had trouble free borrowing from Borrow Box.Having changed my computer and moved from Windows 10 to Windows 11 I have experienced difficulties.I can borrow a book, download it to the computer and so read it but the transfer to my e-reader via Adobe Digital Editions no longer functions.I have ensured that the edition of ADE is current, even dis-installing and installing again but on opening the app I am confronted with a blank page. The top line with "File Edit Reading Help" is all that appears, there is no list of books borrowed, "Help" indicates it is authorised to the computer but downloaded thumb print fails to open. Can you please advise as I have no further ideas

I use Adobe Printer as my default PDF printer, but as soon as I print a document the Adobe Printer’s default paper size settings revert back to “letter” in stead of staying on A4 after it was saved.

Hey all, I'm trying to print a sewing pattern from acrobat reader, which has to be printed as tiles using the poster page sizing option. But when I go to print, the 'poster' button is greyed out and I can't click on it. I've got the latest version and everything and the file is specifically meant to be printed this way. Any advice?Thanks!

We have approximately 50 computers running Windows 7 that have encountered a critical issue since February 23, 2026. After Adobe Acrobat Reader automatically updated to version 25.001.21223, the application began displaying the following error message upon launch:“The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-winrt-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”In response, we uninstalled the software and downloaded the official installer (AcroRdrDC2500120630_MUI.exe) from the official website to perform a clean installation. However, after a few days, the application automatically updated again and the same error reoccurred.As a result, we have been forced to remove the software entirely and switch to alternative PDF readers. This situation has caused significant operational disruption and inconvenience.Could you please advise whether there is currently a definitive solution to this issue?

I can print a test page fine, but when I ask to print a pdf I just get blank pages.  Please help

Hi, I have an issue with the measuring tool in Adobe Reader.  I can correctly set the scale, but the measurement is incorrect in the display. For example, I have a drawing with scale 3/16 in = 1 ft.  I set the ration to 0.1875 in = 1ft, but it doesn't measure correctly, an area labeled 10 ft, 1 in on the drawing is calculated as 6.16 ft by Adobe.  Here is the scale: and here is a picture of the calculated measurement: I open the same drawing with another PDF viewer (Foxit Phantom PDF), and it works without issue - the same area is now measured correctly:   I am not sure if I am missing something, but I have tried this with multiple drawings, it happens with them all. Can anyone provide an idea about what I may be doing wrong, or is this a flaw in Reader?
