when i press spacebar on after effects it switches to the hand tool instead of playing back the compostition.

I have a crap-load of layers that each need to be in their own precomp. Is there any way, script or plug-in, that would allow me to select a group of layers from the time line and make it so each of those layers get into their own precomp?

Hello everyone, after importing the GLB 3D animation, I adjusted the time remap and loopOut() to extend the loop animation. There were no issues, and I was able to adjust the overall speed (gif 01). However, I found that if I only adjust a partial segment, it becomes unreadable (gif 02). May I ask how to resolve this issue?1. import GLB 3D animation2. select one of the action at animation options3. adjust part of the keyframes to slow down partial speed4. the animation doesn't work and just show the static mode

Hi,I have a composition built at 1920x1080. I would like to change it to 1280x720.  Is there a way to do that and also change the layers within the composition porportionally?  I was thinking about creating a null layer and parenting all the layers to the null and resize the null but would that degrade my layers?Please let me know if there is a easier/more efficient way of resize (downsizing) the compositon without degrading the quality of the composition.Big thanks.

Hello!I'm new to using after effects, i have the 2024 version and an hp laptop. I intend to use it for editing, which i know know isn't optimal, but i intend to make due with what i have. The problem is that no matter what audio i use, it's distorted. When i render the clips, the audio sounds fine, but during the editing process it's impossible to even play the edit as it randomly speeds up or changes pitch, slo mo, etc. I've changed my RAM settings. I've used both mp3, mp4 and wav. I've made sure the fps match the comp rate, cleared cache, checked my preview panel settings, probably more stuff that i can't recall now. Also the distortion changes all the time so it's not consistent. I first downloaded AE last year and my laptop was 1 month new back then, but since the audio on edits kept turning out this way there was no way for me to edit. I'm mentioning that it was new incase anyone might think that it's happening because of my lack of storage. I would appreciate if anyone has any su

Hi all,I recently updated AE on my mac, and on making a new project, I can't see any keyframes in the timeline whatsoever.  I can drag them around and navigate between them as if they are still there, and they have the expected effects, they are just competely invisible.  I did a totally fresh install on a Windows machine as well, same issue.I've used AE pretty extensively before, so I don't think I'm making an obvious error, but who knows.  I can't find any other topics on the matter on multiple forums, so I'm starting to lose my mind.  Any help would be very appreciated.  Thanks!

Hello everyone,I have a problem with rendering a project.I want to export my comp to a .webm (for streamlab) to keep the transparency (alpha). I see my transparency in AE and I check the box "include alpha channel" in Media Encoder but the result is with a black background and no transparency.When i render in .mov i see the transparency and even by trying to convert the .mov file into a .webm file it doesn't work and the transparency dissapear.Any ideas how to fix this ?Here is some capture of my files (AE view, Media Encoder settings, .mov, .webm)    

Dans le cadre d'un montage sur Premiere Pro, j'ai du remplacer certains rushs par des compositions After Effect pour leur ajouter un Roto brush, c'est quelque chose que je fais très souvent sans rencontrer de problème mais cette fois ci, après application de l'effet, des messages d'erreur sont apparus et After s'est fermé (voir image ci-dessous). Jusque là, c'est quelque chose qui peut arriver seulement, lorsque je relance le logiciel, les messages d'erreur réapparaissent directement et le logiciel se referme... Je pense avoir tout essayé : lancement sans échec, réinitialisation des préférences, réinstalation du logiciel, supression du cache et de l'effet Roto brush dans les dossier du logiciel... Après avoir tenté tout ça, ça a refonctionné pendant environ 1h avant de réafficher les messages d'erreur. Bref, je ne sais plus quoi faire ! Pour l'instant, le logiciel refonctionne (pas pour longtemps à mon avis) donc je ne peux pas vous faire de captures d'écran des messages

i was adding a plugin and then my after effects wasnt loading so i looked on youtube for help and i had to find my pid number and then go to terminal which i did and instead of my file saving after effects just force quit is there any way i can get the file back.

hi there. It sounds really obvious but for some reason in adobe after effects after selecting the colour white or any other colour it doesnt change.The fill can change to no fill from black but not any other colour. Hope thats clear.Thanks in advance

[Moderator moved from Forum comments to After Effects.]I am trying to copy already-translated Arabic (which is to read LEFT to RIGHT) text into AfterEffects, but it never looks the same once I copy over. It shows up fine in Word or Google Translate, but the whole thing copies over differently into any Adobe application. I am using Adobe Arabic for the font. Any solutions for this?

 

related to box texts, i was able to find only this functionAEGP_CreateBoxTextLayerInCompwhich creates a new box text. but i need to change the box texts boundaries of an existing text. and also are there any ways to change the alignment etc too.thanks

Hello!I have watched many tutorials on how to use the perspective corner pin tool in order to do a simple screen replacement, every video shows how easy it is to set the 4 corners pins on the 4 corners of the screen. However when I try to do it myself my corner pins don't move together, they are extremely hard to set and I just wonder what I am doing wrong. Is there perhaps a special key to press when moving them around?Thanks a lot for your help!

I have a project in After Effects. I'm using the GeoTracker plugin to make a 3D face model mimic an actor's movements in the video. When the tracking was successful and the 3D model followed the facial movements, I added a camera, an object track, and several surface points (GeoTracker → Export → Surface Points). I need to transfer this tracking data to Blender for further work, but since direct export from After Effects isn't possible, I decided to use Cinema 4D as an intermediary.After installing the After Effects extension (Cinema 4D via Adobe Creative Cloud), I exported my project using the Maxon Cinema 4D Exporter (File → Export → Maxon Cinema 4D Exporter), selecting the layers with the camera, object track, and surface points. However, in Cinema 4D, only static tracking points appear. These points don’t move, even though everything is set up correctly in After Effects and the animation works there. What should I do

A .wav file I exported from Audition on a Mac is acting strangely on playback in After Effects. The sound doesn't actually play until about .3 seconds into the clip. This occurs on Mac only. On a PC the file plays fine. When viewed in Audition on both platforms the file waveform is identical. On my Mac, the file plays correctly in Quicktime Player, VLC, and Apple Music. It only misbehaves in AfterEffects.

I hope its ok to ask plug in questions here (I saw some other Duik questions floating around) - if not, feel free to delete this. I just started exploring Duik Angela to set up control sliders for character animations.I already found lots of tutorials on how to connect mouth graphics to build a lip sync slider... what I want to know if its possible to do similar setups but with different animated loops instead of just pictures/graphics?Lets say I got a bunch of animated mouths in short loops inside my comp instead of just pictures/graphics - like one is licking its lips or one has a growl animation etc. I would like to be able to animate this slider to chose one of these loops at a time and just have it keep playing the selected loop until i change the slider to another value.Another idea would be to have a flower in an idle animation loop as default and animating on the far right/left would go to a heavy wind loop while top/bottom might go to a perky or wilted state loop .If

My rotoscope brush is not working and I am not sure why. Anytime I click and drag with the brush there is no response. My computer is lagging quite a lot and I am working with a high res video. I've upgraded the RAM to 32 GB so am thinking it could be in relation to something else?

Bonjour, Lorsque je travail sur After Effects 2020, après 10 minutes dessus, la prévisualisation se fige.Je m'explique, le logiciel ne bug pas, je n'ai pas de message d'erreur. Le chargement se fait bien (Barre verte) mais que j'appuie sur ESPACE ou sur l'icône lecture, le curseur ne bouge pas. Une fois que je rappuie sur ESPACE ou le bouton STOP 3 secondes plus tard, le curseur se place 3 secondes plus tard. On m'a parlé de "Mise à jour automaqieu" mais je ne trouve pas ce bouton sous AE 2020 et de pus, pourquoi cela fonctionne t'il au début. A noter que la mémoire appartie au cache est de 40Go et que je possède déjà 16Go de RAM. (13 allou à AE) Merci de votre retour, vraiment je me tire les cheveux Romain

I just downloaded after effects and the effects that start with BBC aren't available. How do I fix this?

Nothing comes to my mind on how to create a fake 3D bird rotation. Do you have any ideas?
