Hey everyone! Recently worked on this AE project, I've tried to render it at least 4 times, all to no avail, besides taking forever to render, I keep getting hit with this message. Tried opening it with VLC  (and it just shows a black screen), changing the project settings, clearing cache, rendering with or without media encoder, and it just doesn't show me the video, either black screen through VLC, or hit with this message. The only thing I can think of is the project is pretty heavy and it has a Saber plugin but that's about it.   Any help would be appreciated!

HeyI have an issue latly where whem i for example zoom out and change keyframe the whole video is coruppted and went into a black screen as you see can someone help me out 

Hey guys. For some time now, when I download scenepacks from youtube, using chrome youtube downloaders, when I import my scenepack in mp4 into after effects, I just can't see it, it looks like an mp3 file, even though I can play it and see it outside of after effects. Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried using yt-dlp but it's the same, will you give me an idea how to fix it, or any other youtube downloader that will work? Sometimes certain characters won't work in After Effects, and are changed into Myriad Pro. In the example, the letter capital "L" won't work, but will work perfectly well in Photoshop and Illustrator. In other fonts other letters won't work. Hi, I'm having trouble figuring out an 'easy' work around for a problem I'm having. I need a stroke outline to animate before a 'M' letter fills in. This stroke outline needs to be offset, so the 'M' shape/letter doesn't look bigger when complete (stroke animation and M letter fill in will happen simultaneously). Easy enough.When offset paths is on top of trim paths in order, this offset is fine and looks correct. However, this means I cannot change the first vertex point for trim paths to start and end from.When I put trim paths above offset paths to fix this first vertex point problem, the offset paths breaks and produces double lines that are no longer where i need them to be, 'inside' M letter shape.Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there more steps I need to take, to be able to control stroke offset and where trim paths starts from. I need to do this for a bunch of layers for a logo design so was hoping there was a fix for my issue going forward. Thanks, G

for some reason it wont cover the entire shape just the rectangular size in the middle, anybody have any ideas on how to fix it?

 Anyone know how to do it or what it called this transition? Thank you!

im trying to do an effect where i made 3 masks of a car and have them shatter but some reason on the first frame they just instantly become a bunch of epices with 0 animation.  i googled it and watched like 10 videos about it idk what im doing wrong. please help

when i try and use 3d tracking the points show up but no targets or anything show up and i cannot select tracking points. i have show layer controls on and im on active camera and have detailed analysis on, ive tried in many different projects with different footage and watched a bunch of videos and looked at other posts about it and have tried everything. please help

I'm mostly a Maya animator, and although I've been using AE for 20+ years it's mostly been as a compositing tool and never really had to do too much fine editing of animation. I'm now doing a full 2D/2.5D animation project in AE, and I cannot BELIEVE how absolutely rubbish the graph editor and motion editing tools are. I know this is a well-known fact about AE, but I'm still flabbergasted at just how pathetic the graph editor is and how even the most basic animation curve editing features are rudimentary beyond belief and totally lacking in user friendliness. I am mostly trying to work with Puppet Tool animation. First issue there is NO ABILITY TO SEPARATE CHANNELS on position pins, a capability that exists on just about everything else. Why is this missing? This then has the knockon effect of not being able to frame only one X or Y curve easily, since the button to do this automatically frames both channels. I have yet to figure out if there is an easy way to zoom in and out of curves

Reporting ”Your system has run out of application memory” issue on a brand new MacBook Pro Max 64 GB Ram while running After Effects. I knew about this error / warning message while running AE CC on a Mac Mini M1 / 16 GB ram, weas hoping to get rid of it when upgrading. But this seems to be related to Mac Os Monterey (an earlier OS versions). The bad thing is that at times it slows down a rendering process to the point that I have to force quit, loosing the rendering. That is annyoing considering the fact that I hace spend cloase to 5K Euros for the machine. 

Hi everyone, I don’t know if I’m making a mistake or what’s going on, but I have a precomp at 120fps and I did a generative fill, and it looks spectacular.However, outside the precomp, the sequence is at 60fps and it looks like this. Does anyone know how I can fix it??

Dude I have a M2 Macbook 64 gb ram and ae caches so slowly I am considering self harm.  Went out got 2 nvme drives, one for media the better one for caching.  It is even worse.  I can do my work.  Installed reinstalled all that stuff, and it has been ongoing for a long time.  I have managed by other means but I am tired of it.  So what are good affordable alternatives to this adobe nonsense. 

I wanted to share some insights when animating random text characters I got using Character Value and Character Offset, which is probably a bug in AE. At some frames a few characters are getting cropped - either left, right, top or bottom. Suuuper enoying. What I figured out is that Character Value with anything higher than 0 will result in this big. 1 or 2 might be working, but mostly not. Now I think its even strange Character Value even exsist.. 

I am currently writing. a script to create captions in After Effects and it keeps bringing every line in with allcaps flipped on. What line of code do I need to add to ensure allcaps is turned off? Thanks in advance. 

This annoying tips are aimed at beginners, I have been using this program for more than 20 year. There seems to be no way to stop them from popping up? Any suggestions? 

Hi folks, not sure if it's possible, but I would like to use transform_world on top of each other. What I mean is to do first transformation, then save it and do other transformation on that result (in a loop). The reason is I want to do initial matrix transformation on one instance (translate,scale,rotation) and then take that result and do other transormation multiple times. I'm trying to render a video edit of multiple footages, however all of the footages have this "missing footage" scene after rendering out. I never had issue with rendering footages previously (e.g. mp4, mov format). Not sure is it because my footages are in AVI format?

I have an error off a freshly installed After Effects on a new box for AE 2025. I've tried rolling back to other 2025 versions, safe mode, etc. with the same issue. Attached is a screengrab of the error itself

I'm working on a project with multiple 3D objects. I created a shadow with a solid for one 3D object (the red one), and it worked perfectly. However, when I tried the same method with a different 3D object, the solid just doesn't recognize it. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Hi, I'm trying to understand smartfx, specifically result_rec & max_result_rect.If we examine Shifter.cpp example in sdk, and let's say output comp is 1920x1080, and layer we applied effect to is also 1920x1080, and we use offset, it will offset pixels properly, but if we apply effect to 4K footage, the footage effect has been applied to will be cut off if offset is used.How to combat this? I keep getting the error that Point On Path in the variable is undefined, no matter how complex I make this script. Hey folks! How can I change the buttons display on this area? I always have to use a bigger area just to see / click and use all of the functions (and I aways need them), but end up with lower space to another panels.  If I could just make them in the bottom (and make a second line with the functions) would be perfect.
