I can't figure out how to get the controls to make adjustments to the effects and presets.effect to sho up again. I don't even remember deleting it. Can anyone help me?

In AE 2021 and 2023 on Mac running macOS 13.6… I have a field of source text.I want to only show a single line of that text in a destination text box.I'm talking about the line of text as displayed withink the width of a box, not the line of text as delimited by line breaks. In the destination text box, I set a text animator to change the opacity of all the text apart from lines 3 to 4.Range Selector. Index, Lines. Start 3.0 End 4.0 Offset 0.0 Whatever the source text is, I expect the third line only to be visible. Whether that source has linebreaks in it or not.  Depending on the type size of the destination text box, sometimes the third line is visible, sometimes none, sometimes the fourth. How can I ensure that only the third line is visible - whatever the display font or font size and whether or not the source text has line breaks in it? Cheers!

I want to get the image with PF_PixelFloat regardless of PF_PixelFormat in PF_EffectWorld.My current plugin casts the array to type PF_PixelFloat once and then uses it, losing time.Is there any way to do this?Thank you.

After Effects error: asked to create unknown property of type BCC3Unsharp Mask-0002 (1d16)

Cuando intento guardar (en Save y Save as ) o importar archivos en After Effects no me permite guardar ni importar. Cuando lo inicio por primera vez sí me permite importar o guardar pero cuando pasa un tiempo esos botones dejan de funcionar. Lo mismo me ocurre con el comando Command+S. No hace ninguna acción. Tengo la última actualización de After Effects. Y también le he dado acceso total al disco y sigue sin funcionar. Cada vez que lo utilizo me pasa lo mismo. Uso Mac. ¿Alguien sabe como solucionarlo? 

I made a stroke with round cap dashes and used start property of trim paths to move the doted line and I used end property make the path short and I had to put a keyframe of end excatly in the center time of 2 keyframes of the start property and I had to use keyframe hold for some keyframes.One of the problems is that the dots don't remain 5 but keep increasing from the first dot up ahead and another problem is that the whole path with all the dots appear at the end of the keyframes. Thanks 🙂

Hey so i make edits to songs that involve me cutting clips on beat and usually i dont use headphones while doing it and im able to cut clips right on sync with the beat. Recently i moved into a dorm so i have to use headphones while editing, but i realized the sound is a bit delayed and so I'm no longer to cut on the beat perfectly like i could before. I use airpods as my headphones which may be contributing to the problem, but I was also wondering if there was a setting I could change or something that would allow me to make the audio match up better with my clips when i preview. If not I would also love to know if there's any headphones that are good at preventing the delay. Idk if i explained this in a way that makes sense but I would appreciate any help!

Hi everyone I am just wondering if there is a way to automatically parenting compositions to nulls just by the same name. exemple: Comp name: TEST01Null name: TEST01 Is there any expression for this? or is this even possible?

This was supposedly fixed for this version, but I'm still experiencing long delays when I try to change the frame rate. The more layers there are the longer the delay. AE 24.1 (Build 78)Win 11 Pro Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631

Hello I managed to create a customisable template in Ae for use in Pr. But in Pr, I cannot customise effects such as 'Range selector' and 'Ease' (under the Slide up by word effect in Ae) in Pr.Is it because the Slide up by word effect is native only to Ae that's why it is not working in Pr?Please helpThanksAttaching screenshots   Mod note: Title changed slightly ".mogrt"

So I came across this bug/ feature, and I would like to ask for help. I am editing files in bulk with a script, and after that I would like to fine tune them in premiere , but after exporting a premiere pro project file in After effects, opening the file in PP the V1 and A1 tracks are turned off.I have tried a fresh file , without the script, so this is not the scripts doing.Is there a way to turn this off ?

Hello,I'm creating a little After Effects panel with a button that adds an expression to the selected property. I'm trying to use Template Strings (String Literals or Template Literals, whatever is named) for the expression because I want to make it multiline and also interpolate variables into that expression. For some reason, whenever I launch the panel from the Window menu, it gives me a "Syntax Error" message on whatever line that has the backticks (`) for the template string. I know that template string are usable in expressions but, do they work in scripts or not? I thought that scripts would use Javascript as well. I'm currently using AE 24.1.0 Build 78 on MacOS Ventura 13.5 Thanks in advance

Both while using v18.4.1 and v22.0.1, I've been experiencing freezes (no crash report window appears, and I need to kill the process through the task manager).Those happen randomly when using a function of some scripts. So far it's happened with Rift and with Motion 3. Those are not issued by the same developer."Allow scripts to write files and access network" is enabled for both versions of AE. Oddly enough, I've started experiencing other issues recently, but which I assume to be non-related: The 23:40 error (unsufficient memory) and GPU issues that seem to be related to the use of Element 3D in large comps. My build:Windows 10 21H1 (19043.1348)i9-9900K512Go NVMe512Go SSD64Go RamRTX 2060 Super Any suggestion or idea would be appreciated 🙂

I am not a seasoned pro with the Adobe programs but I have made videos before. I work for a college and I have a ten second clip of someone doing a simple squat motion for an exercise class. I would like to place a line on the thigh with two circles at each end and then have a separate line on the leg below the knee and have each line move with the person independently if that makes sense so someone watching the video can see more clearly what each part of the body is doing during a maneuver.  Can I do this in premiere or should I use after effects. I tried using motion tracking in after effects but the line stayed with the body part but did not move with the body part correctly. The person is wearing black leggings so I am not sure if that affects placing a line. If you can explain the exact process to do this as I am still relatively new to using the Adobe suite. thank you

the new AE version does not give the possibility to export RGB + Alpha. how can I do ?

I was thinking of using emojis to use in layer names, which is supposed to work for a long time, but all I get is an error symbol ☒. I currently have AE installed in Widnows 11, can anyone else confirm if emojos can be used or is it just my problem?  (Image from a 2019 post, AE on MacOS)Thanks!

Hello, first of all, I would like to thank everyone who responded and provided help. I am currently getting an error message in After Effects that appears as soon as the ok button is pressed. I am working under a deadline which is coming up soon and I forgot to save my project. This means that if I force quit I will lose my work and if I can't make the window go away I won't be able to finish for my deadline in time. Thank you! 

Any way to recover corrupt AE file? I had some power surges and it seems that the project I had open when my computer was in sleep mode corrupted, along with every auto-save version.Does anyone with dev tools have access to take a look at the code to see if there are errors that can be corrected?Attached are the original .aep, and the most recent autosave file. Working on the latest AE2023, I tried importing the project on both PC and mac versions of AE just to check. I get some of my timelines back using some temp files, but all of my dynamic linked timelines to Premiere just show "Recovered Placeholder" in the project panel with now layer or keyframe data within them. General errors shown when importing the project into a new project are:1) After effects error: file is damaged2) After effects error: chunk in file too big - probably unsupported file version3) After effects error: file is damaged. I'm working on getting this troubled PC replaced, or swapping the mot

Since Adobe still can't manage to properly sync user settings I had to redo my workspace again after the recent update. After a restart my timeline panel is now missing. I can open compositions in the monitor but no timeline. The menu 'window' doesn't even show an entry to activate. I can choose another workspace layout than it reappears. But I'm sick of recreating my workspace. Any suggestions?  Sometimes I want to quit this job just to never open a Adobe Product ever again...

Hi Everyone, Trying to use a RTFX speedline background and when putting it in a comp, something happens to the colors (attached screenshot). I am not sure what happenend and if its an After Effects issue or RTFX itself. Tried increasing the GPU, purging, restarting after effects etc.... and still nothing. Need help with this please if anyone knows the solution.Thanks

Olá,Uso o After Effects na versão 24.1., sistema Windows 10.Após editar e salvar normlamnete ao lodo do processo, fechoo arquivo e tudo aparente estar normal. Mas, quando tento abrir novamente, o After diz que o arquivo não existe. 

I cannot find how to animate lines as far as position of a single anchor point goes (not length or overall position). There are tons of tutorials on how to animate along a path in hundreds of ways, but I'm having trouble finding out how to do something like I drew in this image (one anchor point stays in the same position throughout, while other moves/stretches)

I make drone videos. I work with small projects (2 or 3 clips of footage) then render them. I like to have a 3D map marker above the house in far away shots. In order to do this, I track camera in Effects and Presets. Before I track in my clips, I precompose them as it seems I always get an error when tracking if I don't precompose the clips. I rendered a 2 clip project last night. The finished video shows me pulling away from the house, then motion blur zoom to the far away shot, which was the second clip in my small project. I have a 3D Map marker above the house, but the video is so tiny. The first clip is normal video, then the second clip is very tiny. What am I doing wrong? I work on a Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop with 32 gigs ram and nice video card... please help I am a newb. Thank you!

Hi! So I have a very bizarre spec that I need to export in QuickTime format (20400x72). However, when I go to Export > Media Encoder, it exports as 1080x1920. How to I get it to match source? I get this error message when I change the preset to Match Source (Rewrap):
