As titled suggests, can't figure it out - Please help!   

I'm designing a lower third for one of our brands and have an animated object with 3 keyframes.I need to link the 3rd keyframe to a slider so my team can eventually adjust that value in Premiere with essential graphics without affecting the other keyframes.What expression should I use to do this?I imagine it would look something like this (with better syntax):if ( key(index) = 3 ) {key(index).value = effect("Slider Control")("Slider");}elsekey(index).value = value

I'm trying to learn After Effects; after Animate screwed up and deleted my save file, I want to focus on something else, but I literally can't use their tutorials. I just want to know how to remove an effect from the timeline after a certain point (Like after five seconds, the effect disappears.) But I can't find anyone explaining it online, other than how to remove the effect from the entire timeline itself, which isn't what I want to do. I assume the answer is so incredibly simple that it's not found online, so I wanted to look at one of the tutorials and find the answer without asking people a potentially stupid question. Now I find out that the in-app tutorial button is just a bad prank. Because it does literally nothing. I restarted the app and my computer multiple times, and it just won't load anything. I'm just flabbergasted that every single Adobe product is having this many issues, like.. really? The in-app tutorials don't even work? Why is the option even there? I have n

I want this ball have a motion behind the cup. For that I use inverted matte. When ball cross cup handle, only portion of the ball behind the cup handle should be invisible & other portion should be visible. How it can be done? video is uploaded as well.    

I'm using AE 2025We did the testing and got the texture and animation to appear with FBX files.But when I bring new 3D models or have the working model brought into a new comp, the animation drop-down in the Animation Options is gone.  I'm a bit clueless if it's a bug, a setting in the comps, or something specific I need to do beforehand. It's getting frustrating that the animation options exist in one comp and not in others. We did update the 3D Object's texture, but I feel like that shouldn't have caused any issues on the animation side

Is there a smart way (script?) to be able to find the exact position of anchor point of a layer in order to zoom it in full frame from a specific point of interest using keyframes for scale property only without altering the initial position property?

Hi everyone!I'm new to After Effects, and I'm putting together a project that consists of putting together a sequence of 3D renders (JPEGs) to create an animation. We also used clipping channels and some 3D passes. For each rendered sequence, we have the same amount of images, what changes is just the initial number in the file name, example:01.RGB_color.0000 to 0071, 01.Alpha.0001 to 0071 and so on, and in the next sequence, we have the same filenames, just changing to 02.RGB_color.0000, 02.Alpha.0000...The project with the files "01.xxx" is ready. My doubt is:Is it possible to automatically replace files starting with 01 in the project with files starting with 02 that are in another folder? And then change it to 03, 04, etc...The current project has a total of 1225 images.I will be grateful for any help and clarification

Hi,I'm a beginner to After Effect expressions. I'm creating a end creadit MOGRT for my team. There are total 16 text layers, named as "Title", "Name", Title 1" "Name 1" etc. and controled by 8 checkboxes, named as "Group 1", "Group 2" etc. two layers per checkbox. The vertical gap between "Title" layers and "Name"  layers should be 15 pixels, and 40 between groups. If one of the groups is unchecked the visible groups will move up. All the stacked visible groups should be vertically centred in the comp. I tested with 6 layers. Except to keep the gap remain as I asked for after adding multiple lines in "Name" layer, everything works well with the expression generated by Chatgpt.  I would be super grateful if someone could let me know which part has gone wrong in the below expression script, and how to fix it. Hi all,I've recently returned to After Effects and am having trouble viewing anything in my composition window. I've uploaded a screen grab of a short animation I did a while ago here, and you can see the preview of the project in the Project window, but I can't get anything to appear in the composition window. I thought it was just having the caps lock on, but that's not sorted it. I can't think of anything else, so wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Hi folks, pretty new to After Effects (usually edit in Prem pro) so need help id possible?Basically as a proof of concept for a longer video, I need to place the head from clip 1 onto the skeleton in clip 2.So far have managed to rotoscope the head in clip 1, and motion track the dots on the head of the sheleton in clip 2.If someone could give a step by step guide relevan to the latest edition of AE, that would be great. AS you know out there there's loads of advice but I can't find anything up to date or specific for thsi problem.Cheers!!!

HELP!!!! Trying to make a simple particle effect of leaves falling, but cant seem to import texture (the option isnt there). I was following this tutorialThings i've tried:-Looking up tutorials, but the tutorials seem to have the "texture" option while i dont-Saw an old reddit thread 6 years ago with the guy having the same issue. Applied the effect to the layer with the texture and it didnt work. I've been having this problem lately where After Effects gets stuck at the end of a render, without ever finishing it; but at the same time, when I check the render folder, it has finished the render. I always work in image sequences, so when some render breaks it's not usually a problem, but this has happened multiple times now and with some semi-simple renders, so it's strange. Here's a screenshot of the render queue I left last night:As you can see, the render queue got stuck at the end of the very first render. However, when I went to check the render folder, my surprise is that it seemed done: all the frames were there, with their corresponding information, the sizes were correct and they looked fine. So that's the most strange part. Even though After Effects said only 397 frames were processed, I found the whole 419 of them. And again, this has happened multiple times in the past few days. I know there is a quick and simple fix to this, but I've hit a roadblock. It's my first time using a Red Giant plugin, very happy with the results of my project so far, thanks to the plugin. Im using the Trapcode Particular effect to create a bubble particle logo look for my logo. Im having trouble finding a way to end the effect in unison. So far, I only have the center part fading away early, while it takes the rest of the logo a couple more seconds to fade. I know the reason it is doing this is because of the logo being matted as a shape layer, which is animating the expansion movement. Since the orb in the center is the first to be seen, it is also the first to fade away. I've tried messing with the Life Seconds slider of the Particles, but it doesn't seem to change the timing. Hey,so After Effects is not performing very well on my PC. Sometimes its so bad that my PC Frezzes and i have to power reset it. I ran some checks and the Problem is that when After Effects is open my VRAM Usage Jumps from 300 mb in use to 7,8 GB in use. I check and it looks like After Effects is using almost all of my VRAM on my GPU. That causes the System to Frezze. PC SpecsCPU : Ryzen 7 2700x AIO : Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX 360MM GPU : RTX 3070 Gaming OC RAM : Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB 3200MHz Here are to Screenshots of the Problem Without After Effts I dont know why After Effects does that and it only happens when i render the Project with my GPU, the second problem it that it doesnt even peform good. When i render with the Software encoder its smoother then with my GPU. A frame glitch after making it into a comp.  I have used roto in it and it came perfect. When i made this into a comp it appears like this     

I'm seeing a strange issue where I try to draw a layer mask with the pen tool, and instead of adding a path point where my mouse is, the new point is on top of the first one, and it's given handles that reach where the mouse is.  I have a layer selected, I definitely know how to use the pen tool, and I can create shape layers just fine. The issue is drawing a mask on an image layer.  I can use the polygon tool and make a square, and add and move points, to get the desired mask but that's just an awful solution.  This problem has occurred over many projects, and I've restarted my computer and the application several times.  I just updated AE as well.I have no idea why it's acting crazy or really even what's happening and would LOVE some assistance.(the cursor wasn't captured but it was above the first letter on the right, where the handle is)
