Hello,

In my e-Learning I use the function from Adobe Captivate 7, that creates automatically a table of contents from the sheets, which are in the filmstrip

After exporting and trying out the e-Learning, I noticed that not all chapters were checked automatically in the table of contents after I have seen the contents of this chapters. I found out that only those chapters were checked in the table of contents which consist only of one sheet in the filmstrip. Not checked were chapters which consist of a few of sheets, which are organized in a group in the filmstrip.

While creating the table of contents in Adobe Captivate 7 it is possible to choose which sheets will be shown in the table of contents. Some of the chapters of the e-Learning consist only of one sheet. So therefore I hook them as visible in the menu. In chapters which consist of a few of sheets formed as a group in the filmstrip I hook only the first group sheet, the subodinate sheets were not hooked so that they aren't visible in the automatically created table of content, because otherwise it would be to many sheets in the table of contens.

How can I reach, that all chapters of the table of content will be checked after viewíng theire contents regardless of wheather they consist of one sheet or of a group with many sheets in the filmstrip?

Thank you for your answers!

@Thank You RodWard for your quick answer!

I knew this button. My solution will be to make all slides visible in the TOC.So the learner can navigate individually within the grouping slides, because as you have written in another discussion it is not possible to start the chapters with groups by clicking the group slide in the TOC.

    But afterwards more questions arise:

    1. Can the names of chapters / slides can be displayed in two lines instead of only one in the TOC? Because, some of the slide names are too long and I can't shorten them. And I don't want to make the TOC as big as it should be.

    2. After exporting the e-Learning project with all slides visible in the TOC I found out that the triangles of chapters with "grouping slide"-chapters are all unfolded. So the learner has to close all the triangles to see the name of all chapters.

What are the solutions for the new Problems?

If you've made changes to the naming of slides or structure of slide groups, you usually need to re-generate the TOC again and then deselect the items that you DO NOT want to appear in the Table of Contents.

Many Captivate users DO NOT know about the regenerate button.  It's here:

The recommended practice is to ONLY finalize your TOC near the end of your project when you are sure nothing about the structure or slide naming will change.
