Can you publish a Captivate video in such a way that you can control playback with a remote like you can can advance to the next slide in a PowerPoint presentation?

    Hi there

The answer is yes. You just need to add click boxes or buttons to each slide that allow you to move to the next or previous slide. Then assign a keyboard shortcut to them. These remotes simply feed out what amounts to a keypress. I believe Page up and Page down are the common keypresses sent by remotes. So one click box or button would be programmed with Page Up and the other with Page Down keyboard shortcuts. At that point the remote should work to operate the presentation after you generate it.

Note that if you generate the presentation as a SWF, you may need to click on it before attempting to use the remote. This action shifts focus to the SWF in the browser. Otherwise, it may not be "listening" for the keypresses.

    Hi Dameon,

Theoretically you could have rudimentary control, for example you could create a clickbox below the video and use it to start the video, using the pointer device like a mouse. You would just have to make it the same color as the background to make it invisable. But other than starting/stopping I'm not sure there is much more you can control.

    Cheers
