Today, my Video Demo feature won't open and closes Captivate 2019 each time I try to use it. I've rebooted the PC (Win 10) twice.I am opening as Administrator too. I went to check for updates, which there is, but the Updater window never opens. Just takes me to Creative Suite Site to view my other Apps. I am on Captivate version  11.5.1.499.It had been working fine last week. My other options are working fine i.e. New Simualtion, Blank Project, etc.Any suggestions?

Is there a way to script html code into a slide in order to play a vimeo video?I see the prompts to put in a aboslute URL is that the only way? In Storyline 3 you can embed code directly into the slide and control autoplay, video size, etc... I was just looking for a simular form or widget in Captivate 2019. Thanks, Jeff! 

hello,Hope I can get some help here with this.We have made 8hrs of content broken up into many courses with adobe captivate alongside giving it to the client for testing with their LMS. Throughout this process we have been talking about scorms and versions of the builds. The client is happy with the product and now that we are at the end they have told us it needs book marking. We said that it was turned on in the project and so it should be working. After some more testing on their end they tell us that they made their LMS and it is not compatible with scorm. They mention that in the past they had to override the bookmarking on other scorms.....My question is..... If one needs to stop or leave or come back at a different time and or PLACE to start that course back up. How can we track one's progression through a course? This is so if they are 45min in they do not have to sit through that part again. I am geussing I need it to log the slide's URL maybe at each page or section and they

Hello!I've created a Text Entry Box for students to enter thier name. When student enters thier name and clicks "submit" a "start your quiz" button appears.  Using the this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/text-entry-boxes.html I've created an Advanced action to "test" the box and display an error message if nothing is entered into the field when "submit" is clicked. This works as expected.  How can I "reset" the advanced action to clear the error message and "re-test" the text entry box? Thank you all again!Serko

Hi,  I should start off by saying that I'm a javascript developer, not a captivate developer, and I'm simply trying to figure out how to add some functionality to a captivate project a co-worker of mine is developing.  All I know about Captivate is based on online documentation and google searches. On the first slide of the project, the user will click on the avatar they wish to use.  I imagine that the master content slides we'll be using will have a placeholder for the avatar's image.  I've read up on advanced actions and user variables, and realize that I need to set a variable when the user selects their avatar, but I'm not sure what the value should be.   If the project's library contains all of the images, can I simply set a variable named avatarImage to a image's path, i.e. 'images/avatar1.jpg', and then somehow set the slides placeholder to be the value of that variable? Any help would be appreciated, -Scott 

What would be the best way to create the following kind of project in Captivate: It's about recognizing a sound in a language. I want there to be a video in which a person pronounces a sound, and the user has to recognize that sound and choose the correct sound in a multiple choice quiz. Can all this be done in one slide? There will be several sounds, each with their own multiple choice question, and I'd like there to be a way to shuffle the questions. Thanks in advance!

So I have had an active (and paid up) Captivate account since 2016.  I got a new computer and see that my subscription is current, but can't find an option to downloaad Captivate to my new device.  Any suggestions?  I see all of my creative cloud stuff but no Captivate... strange... 

Hello Everyone,I have a simple form with 3 statements that a student must agree to in order to begin a quiz. Each statement has an empty square smartshape (CB1, CB2, CB3) preceeding it, that changes its state when the student click on it; the state changes from empty square to a square with a check mark. Upon the student agreeing to the last statement (CB3), I need to have a text entry box appear (show) wich student will use to enter thier name and after they click submit a "start quiz" button appear. I can't figure out how to triger the action of "show" on the text entry box, based on the state of CB3, and also "show" the "start quiz" button based on the state of the text entry box.   I appreciate any help I can get. Thank you all so much!Serko 

Hi everyone, Trying to add a nice image to the background of the Play button (Captivate start up screen).  It works great in Chrome but the image does not show up in IE.  Anyone else having this issue?   Thanks!

To begin with Pooja had a Group of objects (flags for Vistied) hidden via the timeline (as a/the Group). But when it was time to hide the again (so they could show later, via an action), she UNhide'd them in the timeline, selected the Group('s) layer and went up and clicked the eyeball to the left of Groups name, at the top of the Properties panel.) My question is. If you need to start your slide with hidden stuff (that you are going to SHOW later via an action. Does it make a difference if it is hidden via the timeline vs. hidden via the Properties panel? Thanks!Raph

I use Adobe Captive 2019 64bit ver 11.5.1.499, I create new project by going New then From PowerPoint, select my PowerPoint file, Captive will go through process of importing all the slides from PowerPoint then eventually it will open with actual Captive project that I can work on and save. This use to work fine now what started happening is that Captive will go though import steps but then never open actual Captive project, it will revert to initial screen where you have options for Recent, New and Resources. I tried different PowerPoint files and the same thing is happening.

I like the effect of using glow and blur in Captivate, but it does not work when publishing to HTML 5.  Has anyone found a similar or other effective highlighting technique for HTML 5 delivery?I was hoping the new version of Captivate would have something, but I don't see anything new.I know there are SWF to HTML5 converters, but that does not seem like a reasonable option.Thanks.

I am trying to construct a one choice attestation answer, in order for users to acknowledge that they have completed a course. In storyline 3 we would use a True and False quiz questions and delete the second choice. In Captivate I can't delete a second choice. Ther Properties only allow 2 or more selections. Is there anyway to modify or create a single choice that wiull report correctly to an LMS? Thanks, Jeff!

I have a project in which I've added three navigation buttons to the second slide in my project. I have the buttons set to display for rest of project - and always on top.I am also adding knowledge check slides intermittently in the project, and I do not want the navigation buttons to appear on those slides.  I created an advanced action that hides the buttons, and I applied the advanced action to the on enter event for the knowledge check slide. It works, but it also hides the buttons for all remaining slides.  Is this expected behavior?  Is it expected that I then add an advanced action to show the buttons on the first slide on which I want the buttons to appear again?Thank  you,

I am running into an issue where Reviewers using the Adobe Air Captiave Reviewer product are unable to see or play video files embedded from Vimeo or YouTube in the reviewer. Does anyone have a solution for this?

HelloI did a project. After it was finished, I deleted the Captivate software and reinstalled it. But now my project doesn't open with this version and it shows the error that I attached bellow.Does anyone know what the problem is?

Is there ANY way to create a full screen toggle button in captivate? I've tried everything I can think of. I am creating an interactive training product that I would like for users to switch to "full screen mode" if they wish (both html5 and flash). Is this possible??

I am trying to package Captivate Voices 2019 with Captivate 2019 and deploy a complete package silently using SCCM. I have successfully packaged Captivate 2019 but cannot find any documentation on how to package Voices and deploy them silently. Please provide any guidance.Thanks,Shekhar

In the Drag & Drop Interaction, there is a check box to Auto Submit correct answers.  Is there a way to auto submit after all of the drag sources have been placed on a drop target, even if they are incorrect?  I played around a little with conditional actions and couldn't come up with a solution.Captivate 7,  Windows 7Thanks! 

Hello,I have a Captivate SCORM project that concludes with a quiz.  Passing the quiz, sets my couse to complete.   If my user re-launches the course, they are returned to the Quiz results page as expected since that's where they last were.  However, I'd like to give my learner the option to actually review the course screens again if the class is already marked complete.  Can anyone provide any guidance?  Thanks in advance.  EDIT... I found an old post that suggested adding a button to the Quiz results page that returned to slidex.  This will work but curious if there are any other options. Based on other posts, it appears not.  

Hi, I am using Captivate 2 and I have a log in simulation where the participant must enter a name, a password and then click login. On the next screen they need to click a continue button. Very simple. If they answer correctly they can complete the assessment. If they enter the incorrect name or password the assessment stops on the last screen and will not move forward - the continue button is acting as if its disabled. There appears to the learner that there is no way out of the assessment, and that the assessment has "crashed". Are there any settiongs that could be causing this behaviour? SCORM is required, currently set to: Report: Pass/Fail, Report quiz results only, reposrt score as percentage, report only the score. Quiz Settings tab Quiz: Pass required Setting: only Show score at end is turned on Pass Fail optoins: Pass set to 90% Passing grade is continue. There are quiz questions in my Captivate 2019 project that do not have voiceover so do not have the background audio automatically reduced. Is there a way to reduce the volume on just specific slides instead of turning the background audio off completely?
