Thanks for anyone's helpI recently switched from running Captivate 2019 just fine using a work credit card to using an enterprise login.Afterward Captivate would exit by itself after the splash screen.  I tried using the Adobe cleanup tool and the Captivate uninstall too as well are removing as adobe items from my library (I'm on a mac)Interestingly the creative cloud apps all transferred over just fine on two machines.Constrastingly,  on two different machines I get an error message when trying to reinstall Captivate 2019. (on both machines Captivate would freeze then exit after I transferred to an enterprise account) I tried all of the "Error Code 1" suggestions on this board for creative cloud and they didnt work.  I didnt see any for Captivate.Adobe's troubleshooter guide just suggests that I try again laterso that's just this side of useless. Thanks in advance for your help! Rick    

Newbie question! If I am setting up a responsive Captivate course, what is the recommended largest screensize? The pre-set for desktop in Captivate is 1024x627, but the quality looks degrated when I test it on larger monitors.  Is there a larger size that is mostly used? Would a 1920x1017 desktop layout make a file too heavy when displayed on mobile? Thank you 🙂

Is it possible to have speaker notes (similar to PowerPoint) that are not seen by the audience when you run the Captivate presentation? I would need to hide the speaker notes from the viewers when using a digital projector. Thanks for replying!!!

Is anyone else experiencing hyperlinks to URLs added to text and or buttons not always working?I am getting inconsistencies - I add a link to text and it works, however, when I go back in and make any changes to the presentation the next time I publish the links don't work. Can anyone help?

Hi everyone,I think I'm finally wrapping my head around shared actions. There's one thing that's puzzling me, though, and I haven't been able to find an answer online. I'm hoping someone can help.On the Advanced Actions dialog, when I click Save As Shared Action, I get a list of parameters. The parameters are items from the advanced action which I'm saving, including variables, literals, and objects such as buttons and smartshapes. See screenshot below.If I don't need to use a variable or a literal, I can deselect it (for example, I've deselected the literals 16 and 1 as shown above).But I don't seem to be able to deselect any objects: nothing happens when I click the checkbox for the object.In this example, I want Success_msg1 parameterized. But I don't want q1_illegal parameterized, because it's always going to be the same (the just script shows and hides it, based on conditional logic). There are about 8 other objects I don't want parameterized.How can I deselect these objects

Try to delete an action  Ok that makes sense. Lets see where it is used.  This actually makes sense too, it is not used anywhere in my project. Why can I not delete it?

This missing functionality has been unavaliable in all versions of Captivate, but all other Adobe products is work fantasitc. This is basic functionality and along with many other basic functions, I do not know why it is not included in Captivate. To work around this problem so I can add an item to a group. I have to perform these steps1) Select all item in the group2) Remove the items from the group3) Select all items that were previously in the group4) Include the new item in the selection5) Group the items6) Rename the group to the previous name, because that group does not existJust to add an item to a group...... Why can I not duplicate an item inside a group? Or move an item inside a group  But I am able to delete an item from inside a group 

Hello, I am creatng a project and would like to find out how the users can view it in full screen. I am using version 9 and will be publishing it as a SCORM file to a LMS. Please advise. Thank You 

I am creating some rather long modules with lots of review material.  I would like to create tabs in a table of contents that will allow students to choose a specific portion of the module to go to if they do not want to review everything in the module.  How would I do that?   Cooking example:  Section 1: Egg dishes  Section 2: Meat dishes  Section 3: Desserts.  Would I use a button with the action set to go to a certain slide?  Thank you!Shawn

Hello! We're trying to import a PowerPoint project into Adobe Captivate. Upon doing so, it looks promising in Captivate but when we preview in HTML5, all of the text goes missing but the graphical aspects of the slide remains in tact. If I preview in SWF, the text is all there and so are all of the contents which is what we need. But we also need HTML5 NOT SWF. Any ideas on why this is happening? Things to know:- PowerPoint is using transitions, which we have identified is not the cause.- We need HTML5 as our output. We read this article "Converting Adobe Captivate SWF courses to HTML5" and saw this excerpt:"This one is going to hurt big-time if you happen to be one of those e-learning developers accustomed to building their course content in PowerPoint and then importing that PPT deck into Captivate.  The fact is that Captivate converts these slides into...you guessed it...SWF animations." Is there anything we can d

Is there a way to use smartshapes as object styles? For instance a success button? An image might be cool too as a success. or failure.

I cannot PowerPoint slides made on Mac into Captivate 2019. As I tried, Captivate closes "unexpectedly". Does it relate to Catalina 10.5? 

I create on a pc windows 10 but my projects are proofed on a Mac. (NOT Catalina 10.5.) My Capitvate files will not open after they are saved on a Mac. This just started happening in the last few weeks. Any help would be great.

I want to ask a question in one of the interaction slides, and I want the user who is answering the question to answer by recording their voice? Is there a voice recording interaction. 

I created a SCORM 1.2 file from an Adobe Captivate with mostly videos and then a couple quiz questions at the end. I uploaded it to Absorb LMS with no problems. And was able to go through it myself, no problems.  But after I launched it to all our users, I got a few people with issues, it freezes during a video or right before going to the quiz. I spent a little while with Absorb support and this is what they shared back for information. “It appears as this point in time that the content associated with this issue is launching from a .html file. In regards to third party course content this is a dispatch file; as it reaches out to a third party server to retrieve portions of the course content. To remedy this issue, you’ll want to publish course content files that launch from an XML manifest, or similar offline index.”I have little idea how, why, or how to fix the html file from reaching out to third parties. And I thought the SCORM file had an xml manifes

Adobe Captivate is not a part of Creative Cloud. Captivate is as a stand-alone software or part of Adobe Technical Communication Suite.   For more information on Adobe Captivate, see the buying guide.

After you publish a project in HTML5, open the folder where the output is published. By default, Adobe Captivate publishes the project to the location, C:\Users\[username] \Documents\My Adobe Captivate Projects. Open the file, index.html file from the published folder.

Morning All, I am using Adobe Captivate 2019 11.5.1.499. I have just found a solution to my issue as I was typing this after inspiration, but it is a work around so wonder if what I have done is the best way. I've created a project and theme at the size of 1024x768, which is my main project size. I am then creating a smaller project for demo purposes. I import my original theme, not for the background since I convert them all to a white background. What I find out that in a smaller project the colours are correct, etc., but the font has decreased in size. In my example from point 18 to 11. I was wondering if there is a way when importing a theme not to scale font size, etc.? My workaround is to:1. Create project at required size.2. Resize project to 1024x768.3. Import theme.4. Resize project back to smaller size, but crop project and don't allowing object rescaling. Is this the best way? ThanksPhil.

My company is planning to have public "course" where potential customers can watch a video, be asked to enter various info about their company, be displayed a "this is how much you could save" type of screen, and finally at the end of the course be sent to a specific URL where we pass variables such as name, phone number, etc. This url will then save this into a database, and our sales department will then have some nice leads to follow up. In my last thread I learned that you can do the various calculations easy enough, but I'm now wondering specifically if the part about sending users to a specific URL with variables in it works in Captivate. We're using talent lms as our hosting platform, but I guess that shouldn't matter.

Hi,I'm using a 360 slide with hot spots (Exploratory) and Must view once. When the user has clicked all the hot spots one can see a success caption  "You have explored all the hos spots. Click to continue...." Does anyone know where I can find the properties of this specific caption including the pop up message (if the user misses or skips a hot spot)?Also, how do I change the timing and position of it? As it is now, it's easy to miss. They are not among the other default labels/success captions preferences as I thought it would be. Thanks in advance!/C
