I was building a project in captivate for several days now, I saved it many times, I saved new themes and modified quiz tile to meet my needs, I have worked hard on this projecy (my very first one in Captivate). I went to the menu project -> Skin editor and I was changing some of the playback control settings when Captivate stopped working for no apparent reason. I got a message saying that Captivate stopped working with the only option available beeing close the program. I closed it since I had no other choices, I made a save about 3 minutes prior to the crash of the application.I re-open the application, my project is no longer in the recent ones, nor is it anywhere to be found on my computer / or I don't know where to look for it!Please help me here, why is it gone, how do I recover it?Regards

Hi Everyone,In the Quiz result slide, is there a way to recreate the retake and review button to be placed on different slides?Logic behind the workflow is if a learner fails the quiz on first attempt he needs to retake. Again on retake, the user should be able to Review the quiz.Once the review is complete only then, the learner should be able to Continue to the next slide. Currently, I am thinking that if i can recreate the retake button functionality and review quiz functionality then if i create two separate pass/ fail slide. Regards,Sid

I'm excited Adobe has made branching easier in the latest update. This is a great feature, however, I noticed there are a lot of limitations to this when using the asset slide. For example: I have to have a quiz as the last section,I can't restrict the order in which the user clicks on each topicI have to title some slides a specific nameWith this new "branching" asset, does this mean we can now somehow access the names of slide groups? If not, any ideas on how to change some of this built-in functionality?

Hi, I am very new to Adobe Captivate and was wondering if their is a way to record the time a user has spent on each slide either using JavaScript or built in Captivate functions. My LMS tracks time spent overall but my employer would like to know if we can see how long an individual is spending directly.

I am fairly new to Captivate but have become fairly proficient in creating a presentation.The issue I am having is finalizing the presentation when all content has been reviewed.To add context:- I have a main menu that branches into 4 different sections/topics.- There are approximately 6 slides in each section including quizzes/activities.- Once each section is complete, they are brought back to the main menu so they may review other sections.I envisioned the learner being brought back to the main menu once all content has been reviewed and a "exit" or "complete" button would appear and they may exit the module.This is where I run into issues.I am told that Advanced Actions would do the trick but any tutorials I see are not specific enough to what I am trying to accomplish........or I am just not getting the concept.Any assistance or suggestions anyone can provide on how to finalize this would be much appreciated.Thank you.

Hi all. I am creating a test for pre-hire in the construction industry. I need to be able to have users view certain drawings for certain questions. I am fully aware of the HTML5 issue with roll over images, which is what I used to use several years ago in a previous job. I know that roll over images are not going to work on mobile. Which is not a concern at the moment. But, does anyone have a work around for roll over images or a suggestion?

I have Captivate 2017, version 10.0.1.285. I'm running Windows 10. Ever since the first update package was released, I'm facing continual preference corruption on all my projects; both those started before the update and new ones. I have a long thread earlier this month where my project stopped working when borders were added and we finally figured out corrupt preferences were the problem. Now, I had four separate projects all stop working (no buttons would function.) Clearing the preferences gets most of them working again- but only until I make a few edits, then they randomly get corrupted again. These are all uncomplicated projects- simple shape buttons- and i am working on them locally, not a network drive. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled. This is a huge pain, to say the least. Any ideas of what I can do to stop this from happening?

Hi there, I am trying to make a custom quiz from what Steve Warrick has prososed as a solution here: Creating a custom question slide with True/False options - eLearning I don't want to use the reporting and would not need to have a quiz result slide. The goal is to have a custom knowledge check slide without recording the results.The user would reply correctly and a green smart shape would show, if the user replies incorrectly then a red smart shape would show.There are two questions. Here is a screenshot of the names too.One can think of it as a multiple choice - multiple response question. The user must give correct answer to both questions. Only then the green shape should be shown.If there is only one correct answer, the red shape should be shown. Hello,We record our videos in a studio and have them captioned by an outside service (such as REV or Verbit), which generates a .srt file (we have other options). Are any of these options importable into captivate? Sitting here copying/pasting for the timing of closed captions is a very daunting task for each video.Thank you!I should add, maybe, that I'm using Captivate 2019. I'm importing the videos into the project to make them interactive and using bookmarks to send users back when answering knowledge check questions incorrectly.

And I would like to install Adobe 2019 on my same system, without uninstalling Captivate 2017.Because my projects need me to work on two different versions of Captivate 2017 and 2019, I would like to understand if it is "possible" to install both the versions on the same system??Kindly reply soon! HelloI am having problems in Captivate 19 when recording software simulations in a blank project.When previewing the project (normally and in SCORM Cloud) the simulation slides are magnified and zoomed in, cutting off a lot of the page.I have tried the "Modify" tab to re scale it to the same size as my project but the issue still remains I converted it to a Responsive Project and it works fine in the preview mode however I need it to be a blank project. Can anyone please advise? Thank youPaige

I would like to Remove The Play button & White Screen that shows on mobile devices with Adobe Captivate 2017. In desktop it's ok, because works autoplay, but on mobile not.

Hi allI have a number of videos on slides that are optional for learners. These slides are interspersed through the course directly after the slide that refers to them.  They are accessed via buttons which work well, and have a "return to course" button which also works well and directs them back to the slide from which they selected the optional video. All good to that point. I have set the exit settings on the slides which contains the links to the video to "jump to slide" to the next course slide after the ones with the videos. Almost like "leapfrog". In other words, if you don't want to watch the video you simply continue moving forward in the course using the playbar. The problem is that the playbar overrides the exit settings on the slides and instead of jumping to the slide after the ones with the video, it navigates one slide on to the video slides, making the optional content pointless. I had run the previous trial of Captivate 2019 last year but this was uninstalled. I have followed instructions to delete old trials and betas to no avail.Ideas please.RegardsAndrew

I have a project with 200+ questions which, at the moment at least, all have to be answered in order to finnish the quiz. I would like to allow the user to do parts of the quiz only. The quiz is grammar related. Categories would be "Verbs", "Pronouns" etc. The user could work through all questions in the category of "Verbs" for example but at the same time, if he wishes so, do the whole 200+ quiz. Any ideas how I can achieve that? I work with the Captivate 2019 Release, Version 11.0.0.xxx.Thank you for any help!

Hi.A few days ago I consulted, how to control the space or "click area" of the initial play button in captivate.It was clear to me that it is done from (CPLibraryAll.css) but I still can not find out what parameters are exactly what makes the area vary.What I want is to have a larger area of click and not just those predefined by Captivate.Thank you.

I have a licensed version of Captivate 2019. I installed the Neo Speech add-on that added 5 more text-to-speech voices in my Captivate Speech Management. All voices work great!My question is "Does Neo speech come free with Captivate 2019? I'm confused if it is a limited trial version which is non-usable after a certain period of time."Can someone help figuring out this please?

Thank you for looking into this.I'm currently trying to export my Captivate 2019 project to be inserted into InDesign 2019.However, the problem is that InDesign can't import HTML5 project and thus I'm trying to figure out how to export the Captivate 2019 project as OAM package.Is there any plugin for Captivate that can export the project as OAM package?Thank you

I have a MacBook Pro (uggh! Unfortunately!) I just started today (06/14/19) getting an error on video that I had already edited.  It won't allow me to open the video, and when it does the audio is gone!  Please help.

Hi thereI would like to hear opinions about the advantages and disadvantages of using JS vs Advanced/Shared actions.It is not about Shared vs Advanced where Shared should always be preferred when possible.It is about the implications of using JS instead of Advanced actions.For me, it is easier to use the JS since I can type faster but would be good to hear thoughts. Hi thereI wonder if there is an easier way to show a button after a particular content is being viewed. Lets me explain.I have a text container (on the image on the right). I have 4 buttons (on the image on the left). The buttons change the state of the container and show different text. I have also a next button that is hidden and would appear only after the user has clicked on the 4 buttons. In other words, when the user has seen all the content.I know I can have 4 variables that change value when the buttons are clicked. Then a condition will ask for the 4 variables to be with a certain value (1 instead of 0 for instance) and only then will the Next button show. I use this regularly, but I was wondering if there will be an easier way?Any ideas?Thanks in advance.Bobby

Hello all,I am a little confused by Captivates settings for VR projects.The project resolution seems to be fixed at 1024x627, is there really no way to change this?This also affects the quality of the splash screen which I cannot seems to change. Im using captivate for a sequence of 360 stills with scripted text and interaction, no video.Any help is much appreciated.Thanks,James.
