In Captivate 2017, I have a *.htm link on a slide. When publishing, I receive the below message. How may I export the linked *.htm link/file so the link will work in the published project? Thank you.

I am using Adobe Captivate 2017. I type the audio I want into Slide Notes. I look in the Timeline to get the "Text to Audio" number. Next, I find the "Text to Audio" number in the Library and right-click on it. I select Rename and give it an appropriate name for the button or whatever I am attaching the audio to. I then go to the Slide Notes and delete the note. I also go to Timeline and delete the audio from there because I do not want the audio to play when the slide is accessed. I create the Advanced Action associated with the button and attach the audio.I will have to repeat this procedure for multiple hidden buttons on each slide. Is there an easier way to create the audio for the individual buttons?Thank you,Jason

Hi - I have checked back through the forum but a link to what looks like a useful Blog is not working anymore. I'd like to get learners to fill in the blank to provide examples of a particular topic - it may be possible to come up with a definitive list of all possible answers they could provide. However, it looks like my early experiments suggest that the answers will be suggested to the learner? Is that true, or can you set this up so that only if they fill in the blank with one of the correct words from a list, will they get a positive score which can be passed to the LMS to indicate that they understand this topic?Thanks in advance for any help you can provideTim

Hi - I've read a bit about short answers and had a brief discussion about this but I still can't quite figure out how to capture free text responses within Captivate - these are mixed in with multi answer questions - and then load this into our LMS as a SCORM file so that any response can be viewed by the instructor and "marked" (this can be outside of the LMS).

seems sooooooooooooooooo fundamental but guess what, it is a problem - I had to reinstall the older V7 version of Captivate and after executing the .exe file, which downloaded and installed (image below) - once the Dialog closed without apparently any errors, I tried to search for the captivate and there is NO sign of it.Could someone advice how to locate and run the Captivate (from command prompt) in Windows 10? Does anyone think, there might be some install issues otherwise I should see the Captivate Icon, program (from Windows command prompt) to be able to open it?On the system, the Adobe related folders in Program Files (Windows 10 Pro) do not show any material files. In the command prompt where I'm searching for the program, it shows the newer 2019 version, which was uninstalled successfully, for sometime but now it shows nothing...thanks in advance

Greetings from Chicago!I've inherited a mess and I'm hoping someone can help me get on the path to cleaning it up.Multiple Captivate 2019 projects, created by multiple users, saved in multiple locations (some redundant).I have found literally 100's of folders, all with CPD prefixes (i.e. CPD1be5f5c61da44180ad23c41bec5ec768) but I don't know what projects they are related or if they are even necessary.Can I delete these folders?If I re-save each individual project to a central location, will these folders be recreated?Thanks everyone!

So, this morning I did a spontaneous check for updates in Captivate (Help > Check for Updates) and was delighted to find that one was available (at least for MacOS Mojave version 10.14). I instinctively took advantage and completed the update.However I'm not finding release notes posted for this version. The 2019 v11 Adobe Captivate might have a few issues with the Windows 10 and none of my colleagues here are able to help! The one I need the most help is with the Publishing of a Captivate project in HTML5 - to be viewed in a Browser..I had a Demo that was included and ALL the other options except the HTML5, Browser option seems to be getting messed up - for e.g. the screen coverage in my demo (for a few slides) were captured as cropped even though there wasn't any issue while recording...Can the experts here suggest any workaround other than redoing this demo? I did export/save all my Audio files related to the slides...Note: If I play the same project in SWF or other options available in Captivate - No Issues. Also, some of the content in the ppt slides were blanking out etc and we worked around this by re-importing and changing some option such as High Fidelity... None of these were an issue in the older captivate versionYour help is greatly appreciated...

I just upgraded and updated Captivate to release 11.0.1 on Windows 10.I developed a test project with VR slides. When I preview the project on Chrome (71), it displays fine; but if I play the project on Chrome after publishing it, the VR slides are ALL black and won't display correctly. It works fine in Firefox 60+, and MS Edge.Any suggestions?Thank you.

I would like to understand a bit more about them and possibly to reduce the size.I am using as many shared actions as possible and try not to be heavy with the advanced actions.At the end of the post there is an image of the dr folder. Hi,I will need to import a video into a Captivate 2017 course that was originally created in PowerPoint. The question is can the whole course, including the video, be viewed in Chrome? Or, is it as I saw on the Adobe Accessibility Best Practices page that only IE can be used to successfully view the entire course?Thanks.Paul

I'm just moved to a MacBook Pro using Captivate 9. Attempting to do a Software Simulation, Demo Mode. In the settings I have it set to capture Mouse and Movement. Once recorded though, it doesn't show the Mouse or Movement, just the result of what the mouse does. I can go into the slide, right click and select show mouse but it shows where the mouse has ended, not the movement. I've tried it on both Outlook and Safari with the same thing happening. Any thoughts on how to fix this?Thanks

Hi everyone,I have created a set of custom navigation buttons for a template which I am using on a responsive design (buttons are sized, positioned and shown or not shown as appropriate for different breakpoints). Home, Replay Slide, Pause/Play (2 buttons with actions to hide & disable or show & enable each button), Back one slide, Forward one slide, Audio on / Mute, TOC Toggle, CC Toggle, Glossary Toggle and Resources Toggle.All works well...When the project plays, the  pause button is enabled and displays correctly. If I click the pause button the project pauses, the pause button is hidden and disabled and the play button is shown and is enabled. If I click the play button, the project plays, the play button is hidden and disabled and the pause button is shown and is enabled. The issue....What I would like is that when the project is playing and reaches the end of the last frame on each slide, the play button automat

If I setup a series of buttons to jump to slides, I can individually select those buttons and copy them to any slide and the buttons settings stay intact.  If I group the buttons to make the timeline cleaner, copying the same buttons associated with a group now copy to another slide and lose all button programming, they now default to "continue".  Big bug!  Is there a way around this?  some setting I'm missing?

Hi,I recently opened a file I had been working on for 2 days and noticed all the text had disappeared from the slides. I can see the text in the filmstrip but it's not showing on the main stage. All my shapes, buttons and images are still there and if I click on a shape or text box, the text does come back, at least until I close and reopen the file again. So I tried to preview it to see if the text appeared in preview....got the Fatal Error, must close.. message. Weird thing is I can open a different project that I was working on only a few weeks ago and it looks fine and previews as normal, its just this brand new project.Of course spent some time googling for possible solutions and found multiple ideas, many on this forum. The common theme was to clear cache (done) and update to V9.0.2.437. I am currently on 9.0.0.223. As its my work laptop I can't update without permission/involvement from I.T dept. My project was already completed, and designed to use as few slides as possible, when I went to layer in closed captioning and realized that it only allows closed captioning on slide audio only.  Is there a way around this, to add closed captioning functionality on non-slide audio?  My only work around so far is clunky and time consuming; I created a variable to control if "show text" appears (similar to CC button) then used advanced script on my button that will display a text caption box when I click on the button if the "show text" option is active.  It works, but it's going to be a lot of work to migrate the whole project to use that functionality.If anyone has an alternative, please share!

When the subject matter expert completed talking, I clicked on the recording then pressed End to save everything from that session. However, during editing I found the audio for the last slide was incomplete. Also, there were extra slides with some audio split between them. I am sure I didn't hit click to get just seconds of audio on separate slides. I checked for updates and my installation of Captivate 2019 is at the current version (there are no updates available).This is the second time this has happened for me. Any ideas of what might cause this? Or what I can do to ensure it doesn't happen again? (I've thought of clicking my mouse several times after the subject matter expert finishes talking, but am hoping for something more substantial.)Thanks,Angela

Hello to the community.I am working with my team in Captivate 9. Our task is to add Closed Captions in embedded videos, synchronize them with the audio that the video has and then generate an html.All that we could do, but we have some doubts.1) when I open the HTML the subtitles are shown correctly, but when the first video ends and the second one starts, they do not show the subtitles automatically. To appear, you have to click on the "CC" button in the playbar.2) In the project there are slides with videos and without videos. The background of the subtitles appear in the slides where there are no videos. How can I deactivate that?I hope everyone's help.Greetings.

I am using Adobe Captivate 2017 version 10.0.0.192. My Videos are in .MP4 format and is not working in IE 11.0 when published to SWF. Can anybody please tell me a workaround for the same. I have converted .MP4 videos to .FLV, .AVI, still it is not working in either google chrome latest version nor in IE 11.0 version.The course is working fine along with the videos only when I publish in HTML5 format. I need the course should work fine when I publish it in SWF format. Since we need a single file ie SWF and the course should start on single click file.Please help.

Hi. I'm using Captivate 2019 and working with a custom theme supplied by a client. The font they want in the TOC settings (lato regular) doesn't show up in the dropdown. Only Lato hairline. I have lato regular installed on my system and it's available for all other settings to include CC settings.  Any thoughts?

I have read many times the great article by Rod here http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate/reduce-load-on-your-learning-management-system.I am not sure about the difference between the option "SendTrackingDataAtEnd" - a template that can be selected at the top of the Reporting settings and the option "Send Data On Every Slide" that is found in the LMS Advanced Settings.What if I choose "SendTrackingDataAtEnd" as a template but also tick the option "Send Data On Every Slide". Wouldn't they be in conflict?Thank you in advance.B

With the latest update to the Chrome Browser (Version 66.0.3359.139 (Official Build) (64-bit) Captivate STOPPED playing audio automatically in a lesson. You MUST hit refresh (Ctrl-F5) of the browser window and THEN the audio plays. I've heard that video will no longer play in Captivate lessons automatically when played back in Chrome. Is there a fix? Is Adobe going to come out with a patch or workaround? My client (Arby's) brought this to our attention. They have upgraded to Chrome and now the hundreds of courses we have developed in Captivate for them do not have audio unless you refresh your browser! They are getting ready to jump ship and go to Storyline! I am using Captivate 2017 and publishing as HTML5 only - no SWFs.
