I'm newer to captivate and our team has had some long standing issues with the certificates printing out. Sometimes it cuts of the borders or doesn't display as a full 8x10 certificate when printed. One developer feels that it's trying to print from the slide which is causing issues when it's actually printed. Are there any certificate widgets other than the free supplied one with Captivate that may eliminate all the extra time to work-around the existing issues? Thanks in advance for your replies.We use Captivate 2017 both HTML and SWF. We also just bought 2019 though haven't integrated it yet due to how different it is.

So I've embedded YouTube videos in the presentation, and they work as expected...However, if the user accidentally clicks word "YouTube" at the bottom of the frame, it launches a new tab with the video. When the user revisits the presentation, the navigation controls become disabled. Note: these are custom navigation controls that we mapped in the Master Slide so that they appear in all of the slides.

I've inserted an interactive timeline slide.  In the state view, I can add text to timeline slides (fluid box), no problem.  Can I not add an image in these as well?  My media icon is grayed out.  Can you please tell me how to add an image?Cheri

I have the same question and I have done the steps that you outlined but still no success. I am using Captivate 2019, I did the following. I created a responsive project in CP8 used phonegap to package it as an app and have some problems. one is that I have many PDF files that are opened locally (in the calles folder). Opening them is not an issue. The problem is when I need to navigate back to the app. It appears there is no way of actually closing the pdf file without also closing the app and since the iPad does not have a back button its becoming an issue. Does anyone know how I can back to the app from the PDF document?Second it appears that the responsiveness of the project ends when it is packaged into an app. Since the iPad does not open a browser all adaptability is lost and the project sits on the top of the iPad screen and the bottom 20% of the screen is blank.I managed to move the project to the center of the screen by adding document.body.innerHTML = " <div class='cpMainContainer' id='cpDocument' style='left: 0px; top:80px;' >This also moves the TOC expander icons but the actual TOC still opens from the

Goal:  click on a button and have a PDF open in Captivate 9.Issue:  It works great in the preview, no issues. When I publish it as HTML and SWF, the button will not launch.  It will work if I use a website.  I really want users to be able to open a pdf and save it to their computer. My Actions: I created a custom button (no issues).  Actions - On success:  Open URL or FILE, URL:  TIPS.PDF (eliminated the path, per instructions I found), in NEW window, allowed infinite attempts, and UNchecked continue playing the project.I have googled this, the instructions are to add a webpage, not a PDF. I have checked with other colleagues and we can not come up with the solution.  Anyone??

Hi there,I've been trying to use an interaction in Adobe Captivate 2017 where the user can click a tab to get a definition.  The interaction consists of four tabs to click with the definition inside the main box.  The first and last tab work but the middle two do not respond. Any ideas how to fix this?Thanks.

I have a user that utilizes Captivate 2017. When she publishes to HTML5, the filmstrip shows the first slide correctly but the preview before pressing play the slide is blank. Is there a way to fix this?As a reference only, Youtube refers to this as the thumbnail

More of a caution statement than anything.I was having issues with Bookmarking/Resume Data not working in Internet explorer 11. I imported a PPTX deck into captivate and the background/theme/design of the PPT is about 1" short of filling the page of the captivate presentation.  I've tried changing the resolution, and it keeps scaling the deck accordinlyg since I want to maintain aspect ratio.  How can I stretch the design theme to cover the entire captivate slide?  I can't edit within PPT since it's a PPTX.

This is in Captivate 9.I have several slides that start with the same image from the previous slide. For clarity, lets call them slides S1 and S2. The image on  S2 has an effect such as "ease out to right". The problem is that when the button is clicked to move from S1 to S2 the image on S2 disappears for a split second, then reappears, then the "ease out" or "fly out" effect takes place. This creates a flicker in the continuity of the image. On the slides that have this problem there is usually more than one image with an effect on it but the flicker only happens to one or two of the images with effects - not all of them. I've checked and double checked to make sure the images are covering the entire timeline, so that doesn't seem to be the problem.The images are .pngs with transparent backgrounds.The software is up to date. This does not take place in the "Project" preview, but in the 'In Browser' and 'HTML5 In Browser' and 'In Adobe Edge Inspect' previews it does. I've also pub

I've just been given access to Adobe 17 and want to set up my default settings. Within defaults the global preference dropdowns and blank. When I click to restore defaults or create new styles I receive an error message and the programme closes.Has anyone experienced the same difficulties?thanks

This may seem like a silly question in that it's either simple to implement or just not possible, but whatever. Here goes:I want to incorporate a set of Knowledge Check slides throughout my Captivate Project. I don't want to use a 'Submit' button at all. If the user clicks the correct answer, it gets highlighted green and a congratulatory message appears, and then the navigation buttons appear to continue the presentation.Is this possible? Having to click a 'Submit' button when it's simply a knowledge check seems a tad overkill.

Hi thereI have a number of courses that require both an HTML5 and a Flash version. However, I want the multicreen.html file to prioritize HTML5 for chrome and newer versions of IE. Is this possible? And will any solution work with SCORM?

I'm setting up a quiz where each question has a bad, good, and best answer. I'd like to give partial points for the good answer, but it looks like that is only possible if you do the multiple answer option. Is there anyway I can assign points with advanced actions? I thought I could just increment the variable, but you can't when you select increment in the advanced actions builder.Maybe create an independent variable and then add the two on the final slide for the final score? Looking for suggestions. To be clear, the wrong answer gains 0 points and the correct answer will gain 20 points - that is already adjusted on my quiz slide. I'm wanting to assign 10 points to the 'good' answer.

Hello guys,I have a big problem with my new HTML5 projects, i used always the SWF publish in the past... everything in my captivate is now based on HTML5 and javascript, and i do not use the advanced actions anymore... except of if i wanna switch the state of an object i have to do a mix of javascript and advanced action... so i am still searching for a java-command in which switches the state of an object... can anybody help?

I made a D&D slide in which I can put 1 000, 100, 10 or 1 blocks in a specific area.And I have a variable which counts the number of cubes.(Inspired by Paul Wilson's video : Drag and Drop Counting Game for Adobe Captivate 2019 - YouTube )You can see this here :Everything seems to work fine but my problem is :=> I want my number to be 3 110 (with a space after the 3 first digit) instead of 3110.As I will want to work with millions, billions... this will be more and more difficult to read for my learners without the spaces... Since the XML import kept failing I tried the export captions and CC option that Rod Ward mentioned in another post.  It exported fine but when I open CP 2017 to import the caption and CC the option is grayed out.

Hi Guys,Pretty simple really, I've been using Captivate for years I can do some pretty advanced stuff. But this is really starting to annoy me and I have followed every forum on here relating to this and nothing has produced successful results.It really is that simple. I have one button, I want to click that button 3 times to show another button. That's it. Strangely, if I have for example multiple buttons I want to click to show another button, I can do that no problem. But for some reason just wanting one button to do the same thing is seemingly undoable.Any help would be appreciated.

We have a group that has upgraded from CP7 to CP2017.  Some how they say that the slide notes disappeared in 2017.  So they want to move the slide notes from copies of their CP7 cptx to the new CP2017 cptx.  They say that it won't do a copy paste.  I tried doing the export/import.  It exported the captions and CC from the earlier version but in CP2017 the option to import captions and CC was grayed out.Thanks in advance for any help.Take care,Susan

I need to find a way to script an advanced action in Captivate 9 that would automatically click those checkboxes  in Slide Notes for text-to-speech.  The first line is what I need checked off - I don't want the extra lines at all.What I am trying to do (if I am making any sense) is to take slides in a PowerPoint presentation that I 'convert' to Captivate, and have that "text-to-speech" checkbox on the Slide Notes tab of my Captivate slides clicked off and the text loaded into Speech Management with an advanced action. Is this possible? Or is it possible to simply check off the boxes in each slide with one action? It's entirely too tedious to click and click and click my way through 90+ slides in a presentation.  Right now my team has about 100 of these presentations to convert.  That's too much clicking. There has to be a more efficient way of utilizing the text-to-speech option.  Are there any suggestions?

I've got a quiz that I'm publishing to xAPI. The quiz works great currently, but we also have an online proctoring/id verification solution that we're installing. To prevent users from completing the quiz if they don't have a webcam, we wanted to prevent access to the exam until a certain variable reads a certain value.I've got the javaScript to check for the variable value, but have no idea how to prevent access to the quiz and then grant it.We'd also like to preserve the resume data so if the user returns they are able to pick up where they left off, but of course ONLY after the variable is set appropriately.var tinterval = setInterval(function () {    if (window.IntegrityAdvocate.status == "IA_Stream") {        // GRANT ACCESS HERE    }}, 1000); // check for updated variable every second

Does the Virtual Reality add-on to the new Captivate only work in Google Chrome? Preview and Published Files open fine in Chrome but don't in Internet Explorer.
