Questions

Is it possible to publish a completed project (or several that are linked)  that can be copied and distributed on a flash drive rather than the web? I am using a MAC and my end-users will be using MACS or PCs. I don't want the end-users to get the .cptx file that they can modify. I am not a techie and I don't have a server on which to store the product for people to access. I don't know if this is possible with Captivate? IF not, can anyone recommend another software? I had originally done the project using Adobe Director 12 which is no longer available and am just trying to find a software system that will let me update the original.

Does any one else find Captivate 9 painfully slow when creating a quiz?I use the programme daily to build digital content for my clients but its taking so much longer than it needs to. Simple tasks like changing the font or size takes minutes. Or simply clicking on a text box will send it jumping up the page. My iMac has no issues running multiple programmes from the Creative Cloud so I know its not my machine, especially after looking at some of the forums with people saying it can take them 2 minutes for 5mm shift of a text box. Madness.I downloaded a trial of the new Captivate but it crashed twice before I had even started a project. I built one short quiz in it to see how it handled but found it was pretty much exactly the same speed and that I now have to sync my fonts. So, an extra job that I could do without!First impressions of the upgrade are not good, has anyone else had any positive experiences with the new upgrade regarding speed? Hi All,I've placed some audio I would like to play in the background of my project (Audio > Import to > Background) but it fails to play?  It looks like it's there but when I preview my slide no sound.  No Captivate updates waiting.  I'm working on a PC....  Here's a screenshot of what I can see...ThanksKIm 

Once I edit a video I understand I can publish it to captivate prime. Hello, Created a SCORM course in captivate 2017 and when tested in our LMS or via browser locally on my machine the font and images are quite pixelated.The quality in the output settings is set to 100%.  Is there something else we're missing as far as a setting?  From previous captivate versions the text and images have always appeared crisp and sharp such as on a PowerPoint slide.Any help is appreciated.Thank you.

Hello!  Is there a way to attach event listeners to audio clips inside Captivate?  I need to trigger some events when audio ends, and prefer to do it without setting timeouts or waiting for a manually entered frame.Thank you very much!

Exporting a lesson from Captivate 8 into a SCORM 2004 4th edition format, the lesson's manifest.xml file contains a line error when SCORM tested using the ADL Conformance Test Suite. The error is a line that is identifying the files in the lesson, but references a file with the wrong slash in the address.Either the line "assets\TOC_icons\collapseIcon.png" or "ar\Mouse.mp3" is referenced. Several lines below that the same address is reference again (in both instances) with the correct slash "ar/Mouse.mp3". Does anyone why Captivate would be referencing these files incorrectly?Thanks

My Captivate 2019 is installed in German language version, but my elearnings are used globally so everything is in English.Now I have the Problem, that the resume message is displayed in German and I cannot find a Setting to either Switch the message off or Change the text/language.Could someone give me a hint?I am looking Forward to your Feedback !Sandra

I am new to creating elearning and I am trying to sourcewhich is the best program to purchase for my orgisation.  I like the sound of both of the above applications however based on my internet readings of late I am lost as to whether I need both for full functionality or whether I can I use one vs the other?

HiI have an issue with a 2019 Captivate project in that when I view my project in Captivate it is fine but when I publish to Prime using the automatic publish to prime action and view in the "Learner" view it is missing the first slide and starts on slide 2 always.  What could the problem be, this project was created from a PowerPoint originally, any ideas why it’s doing this.  It was working fine and then I edited some slides and now won’t view correctly in prime.

Hello,I'm trying to get a blinking effect on an object by having it toggle between two states based on two variables:Blink (The variable that toggles between "0" & "1", which also changes the state of the object based on the value.)runBlink (The variable that runs the WHILE loop, causing the previous variable to toggle between "0" & "1".)When I preview the slide, the runBlink variable successfully toggles the Blink variable between "0" & "1". However, the Blink variable isn't changing the state of the object as it is supposed to be.Am I doing something wrong, or is there a better way to accomplish this?

Almost all the Captivate projects I have done over the years have been SWF.  I am sorry to see it go, but I understand why.I have a couple of SWF pieces I need to update to HTML5.  However, they both make heavy use of rollovers, and some other Flash-only effects, such as blurs, glow and fade.I really don't want to redesign the screens that use these effects, but I have not seen any good alternatives in HTML5.  I just installed Captivate 2019, so I have not had a chance to explore what is new, but I don't think there is anything that really addresses my concerns.Any suggestions?Thanks.

Hi,I am looking to create a course with a pool of questions, where every user will receive different questions from the main pool. Is this feature possible in Captivate?

I am a new Captivate user and wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I've created some pretty basic effects such as having a text box appear on the screen after <x number of second> and stay for the rest of the slide, synced with audio. In the timeline everything looks as it should. When I play from the timeline all the effects happen as I've set them up to. However, when I chose to preview, whether it be HTML or next five slides, none of the effects appear. Is there something basic that I'm missing? I don't know why everything works in the live preview but not the published preview. Help please!

Hi, there.I created a software simulation assessment and it is set up to show both success and failure feedback captions. However, the length of time the feedback appears on-screen is rather long. I tried timing it and the feedback captions stay on screen for about 4 seconds. Is there a way to shorten the length of time the feedback captions appear on-screen before moving on to the next step of the assessment? I have tried shortening the length of the timeline on the slide and the length of the click box on the timeline, and it seems to have no effect. Any insight on this would be helpful.Thank you,Michelle

When testing on an iPad, I'm not being able to advance past the question screen for the quizzes. After answering the question, I can click anywhere or type a letter to continue on PC, but obviously not on an iPad. What can I do to fix this issue?

We are looking for a way to modify our Quizzes to only show the learner the answers they got wrong, (or even just the whole question they got wrong)  instead of showing them also the correct answers in the Review.Does anyone know if there is a way to do that?I only see that we can turn the review on or off, and not a way to modify the Review results further than that.Thanks!

With Windows 10 and internet explorer 11, Adoble flash player is integred automatically, but Adobe Presenter didn't find it. I've tried all the navigators (internet explorer, edge, chrome, Firefox..) and it doesn't work.How can i use Adobe presenter to publish my presentation  ??? with which other application ??Thanks for your ideasChristèle

I use Adobe Captivate 5.5 for the Mac, my fill in the blank question slides are not working.  The answer are showing and the box for the answer is so small that either you cannot see everything you type or else you can't even get your cursor in it to type at all.

I am trying to put together a training video using a recording from a webinar.  When I try to add the video to Captivate, I receive an "internal error" message and no video is uploaded.  I have used the Adobe Media Encoder to format the video.  After using the encoder, the video will load, but there is no volume.  I have tried encoding several ways, and even used a custom format which indicated that the audio is included.  Is there any way for me to play the video through captivate with the sound from the webinar?

Hello all! I was wondering if in Captivate an object's state can change at a certain point on the timeline? I saw that the option is available in Articulate Storyline and I was wondering how I could do this in my Captivate Projects.

So I've downloaded the trial version of Captivate and have been testing it for a few hours now, attempting to create some Software Simulation demo videos. However, the program will only intermittently capture keystrokes when typing. I have tried typing in three different browsers (Edge, Explorer, Chrome - in address bars and in websites) and I Notepad. Sometimes, it will capture the keystrokes but it is very rare. Most of the time, the text will either just be there at the slide to begin with, or it will appear during the slide. I contacted support and after trying a few things and doing a screen share, he just confirmed for me that this is a flaw with Captivate. That sometimes, it just doesn't work and will not capture keystrokes. I'm so bewildered by this...An Adobe program that requires a $30/month purchase just...doesn't work sometimes? I feel like I must be missing something. Is this an issue that will be resolved?? I really want to make Captivate work because I am a long-time Ado
