I have done the requisite searching for answers here, but I am sorry I cannot find this exact issue. I have a slide with a group of 5 text objects that I set to be hidden when the slide opens. Each text object has a short audio narration attached to it.There are 5 buttons that are set to show each text object one at a time when clicked. Each button has a pause built into it.My question is - How do I stop the slide from going to the next slide before the user has finished clicking all of the buttons? You click the button, the text shows, the sound plays, everything is working fine - and then it advances to the next slide before it is finished. I know I could just make the timeline really long, but I doubt that is the best way to handle this.For some reason, I thought that attaching sounds to objects was a kind of "timeline independent" way to do it - that no matter how long the sound was, it would not advance to the end of the slide - especially if the buttons were supposed to pause eve

Hi;I'm creating an educational website and I'd like to put in a link that sends the student to a Captivate knowledge check on each module or a quiz at the end of the learning process. Can this be done and if so what is the best way to do it?thanks;jjfjr

I have created a complex slide with several buttons which each trigger a different sequence (they use cpCmdGotoFrameAndResume to relaunch the movie header in the correct place). Overall it works very well despite its complexity.The objects in the different sequences are originally hidden and then shown using an Advanced Action, depending on the button pressed. Some of these objects are in groups.I have noticed that when one of the objects to show/hide is in a group, it will sometimes not be displayed after issuing a "Show" command for that group if the object is an image. The problem can be solved by using a shape with an image as a background instead of an image object.Not sure where to report bugs in Captivate 2019 following the pre-release stage which I was involved in, but this clearly seems to be a bug.One related topic is that of objects grouped in a responsive project not being treated as responsive, even if they all have the same start time and length (grouping makes it easier

HI. I've update a power point to captivate and would like to add a simulation within the power point. When I try, captivate doesn't insert the simulation into the power point, instead it creates a new project. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?Thank you.CT

Hi all,Got a request from a customer wanting us to put a pause / play button on every slide of their project.  Even though we explained that the slide wouldnt progress until the next button was pressed and that you can press the back button if you miss anything they have insisted (and they customer is always right.)The problem i have is i have advanced actioned on the slides and the play / pause button works until the advanced action is executed.for example the pause button is visible in the output. there is voice over and text and image on the slide but there is a button that once pressed (Advanced action) another image appear.if this button is advanced action button is pressed before the pause button it seems to render the pause button inactive.Anyone got any advise? I also have another question on publishing on HTML5 but i have posted that under a different discussion to prevent getting confused!thanks you in advanceSu

This isn't something I've done a lot of in the past, but it seems badly broken to me, at least when using multiple monitors. I thought I'd sound-out the forum before submitting yet another bug report...(Seems to be a problem in both 2017 and 2019, but worse in 2019 because of the added complication of all the webcam stuff.)create a new software simulation (select 'no webcam' if using 2019)With 'full screen' selected, there's no choice of monitor. Hi there, I have a bit of a niche question regarding using the GSAP javascript library within Captivate. I've used GSAP within Captivate to a small extent and I really like the flexibility it gives to create smooth and unique animations pretty quickly (downside being you have to publish the Captivate project each time you want to preview it). I should add I'm working in Captivate 9 and working in a non-responsive project (no breakpoints or fluid boxes. Initially I thought this might have to be exported as a SWF). Here's a summary of my question - how does Captivate determine the hit box of images and is there a way to adjust to hitbox via javascript? Here's the longer version - I have a slide with two images on it and I would like the user to be able to click on each image to have it enlarge and center in the screen, almost like a lightbox effect. Hi,I am having an issue with the captivate 2017 responsive course. I want to open the course in new window of Safari in ipad, instead of opening the course in new Tab. i want the course alone in the window, there should not be any other Tab open along with the course Tab. Is it possible to do so in captivate? or by using any external coding?  If anyone have tried this before please let me know, how can I fix it. Thanks in advance.Vimal Kumar

Do we just install over the top of 2017 or do we need to uninstall 2017 ffirst?  And what about the 2017 asssets?  Just leave or try to uninstall?

Hi, I'm trying to link Powerpoint slides into my Captivate project, and I was wondering if I could define where it will be placed in my Captivate project. I can only have them in the full captivate slide. Basically, I want it in a specific place on my Captivate slide. Is it possible to do that?

Hello, I'm creating a new template and I want to include the name of the previous and next slide for the navigation. (See the image) Is there a way to define that as a variable (I found only a variable for current slide)? Or any other workaround? Thanks a lot!

HiI have had to change the DPI Awareness to 1 as my laptop has a HD display. The problem is that I have recorded most of the course on my other laptop which obviously does not have an HD display. I have changed the font size to 100% on my HD display but when I capture a screen it is still showing larger in my Captivate. I am recording at 1280 x 720.Please help

In older versions of Captivate, we experienced some issues when converting courses to more current versions of Captivate.Has anyone experienced issues when converting courses created in versions 8, 8 responsive or 9 to Captivate 2017?

Good afternoon/evening/morning, intrepid adventurers! As I begin to flex my burgeoning JavaScript muscles, I'm beginning to notice the rather tiresome issue of having to manually re-hide objects for when learners re-visit a slide. Admittedly, using @7246171 as a wildcard (cpExtra plugin) has proven ridiculously useful in reducing the manual steps required, but the process is still lengthy, and fraught with potential for user error(mine).So here is my question: Does captivate have a way to reset the visibility of objects on a given slide to the same state they were in when the slide was first visited? i.e.  originally hidden objects are hidden, originally visible objects are visible.I've looked for an answer without success, and I will feel really silly if there's something right under my nose, but I've been so deep in the weeds on this project that I'm starting to go cross-eyed, so I'm ready to plead for help now. 

Hi everyoneI have recently published a project to a website, however the glossary does not display (please see picture). I have read similar posts, and have made sure that I have not copied anything directly from MS Word, and I have tried displaying the project in all the major web browsers. The embedded questions work perfectly and the glossary works when I preview the project in Captivate. If anyone has any suggestion on how to fix this, that would be great. Thanks.

I test my project in CP2017, and everything works fine.  I publish my scorm project and upload it to the server.  I test it again and the lesson works fine.  The second time I open the lesson, the last page appears for less than a second, and then the lesson immediately closes.  No matter how many times I attempt to reopen the lesson, it immediately closes and I return to the LMS  lesson menu.  Is there something I need to fix? 

I'm working in Captivate 2017 in a non-responsive project. I have multiple projects that I'd like to 'link' together, which I've been able to do using my custom next and back navigation buttons built in Adobe Animate. The code for loading up a new project looks like this - window.parent.window.location.href("https:/www.urlfornextpagehere/index.html");(If you know a better piece of code for doing this, please let me know, I'm new to javascript). This works well for loading up the next project, however for going back to a previous project (the goal is for users to have complete navigational control going back and forth as much as they want), I've used the same method, but I want the "previous" course to open up to it's last slide, so that it feels more fluid (even though the lack of autoplay allowed in browsers kind of kills the fluidity, not much I can do about that). I cannot seem to find any setting for changing the background color of a slide (similar to "format background" in PowerPoint.

I see a width of 0, but that still shows a stroke color. How do I get rid of a line stroke on shapes completely?

I have seen old posts on this but was wondering if Captivate 9 had come up with a solution.  I have a project with multiple topics.  At the end of each topic, the user gets a random question from a pool of 3 questions.  If they answer correctly, they go onto the next section, if they get it wrong, they review the section again.  Problem is the same question is coming up because they have not exited the project.  And the slide is stuck because it is set to only give them one attempt.  I would love to know if there is an easy way around this.  I suspect not but it is worth a try.
