Replace screenshots without re-recording whole project?

I work in a s/w development environment and have created some nifty demos with voiceover, captions, and highlights. But - the screens I recorded have changed. The voiceovers, captions, and highlights would require just minor editing. Do I have to start from scratch or can I replace just the screens and mouse actions?

I also work in software development and have done what Rick is suggesting above. Works like a charm.

I have also opened my movie that I need to update and recorded one or two new screens using the Record button. Then I right click and copy the background from the new recording as the background on the existing slides. This way all the work of typing in the caption text and timing is already done but the background image is of the newer screens. Just adjust the mouse and highlight boxes to the new locations and you're done. Saves me a lot of time.

Unless you already have the replacement screens captured, then what you'll need to is a combination of "starting from scratch" and editing what you have.

You'll probably need to start a new project and record all of the new screen captures. Then you can transfer those into your existing project as replacements.

There might be an easier way, but my workflow is this:
1) In the "replacement" recording, select the images you need in the library and export them to a folder (as bitmaps).
2) In the original project, open the "Properties" panel for each slide and click the "Change background image..." button. You'll be able to select the replacement image from those you exported in step 1.
3) Go through each slide and adjust the interactions and mouse path as needed.

In addition to what rbLearning has offered, here is another slant. Let's say the bulk of your screens are the same. But the developers just moved a button or two that affected a small area of the screen. In that case, you really don't need to recapture the whole thing. Here's what you do:

Use a screen capture utility such as TechSmith's SnagIt. (Wonderful little app that is!)
Capture only the affected region of the screen
Save as an image, then Import the image to your first slide where it needs to be.
Position accordingly, so it exactly matches what you need.
Copy the Image and paste across the remaining slides where it is needed.
Now you simply right-click each of these and select Merge into background to update the background images!
