I installed Character Animator 3.0 but when I attempt to open it the splash screen comes up, a few items start to load and it then dies. Verse 2.1.1 still works. I uninstalled 3.0 rebooted and reinstalled same problem. Any suggestions? Title edited by Mod
Today a sneak peek at an upcoming feature in Character Animator was shown: Keyframes! That's right, keyframes have come into the feature set in an upcoming version of Character Animator. What are your thoughts about this new feature? We are curious!
Hi there. Imported audio file does not play in full i.e. the last 15 seconds is missing from the audio file after import. Can you help me how to set Charecter Animator to play the audio in full? The length of the audio file should be 1:13s. Thanks in anticipation.
How would I go about rigging a quadruped animal on charactor animator? I’ve only watched characters with two arms and two legs tutorials.
Hi, Complete newbie to this software and have realised that when I add new objects to my chracter i.e. a guitar or dumbells it warps the arms. When I remove the object completely and click save. the warping goes away. You can see below what I mean and how I added the object in Illustrator. Any help would be great. Thanks Ben
Subject said it all. A new version of Ch just came out. I'm in the middle of a project. Is it safe to update? Martin
Hi, I make simple cartoons for You Tube. I used to do it in After Effects but recently I decided to try Character Animator. Now I have a few big problems. Is there a way to easily interact with the objects in the scene? In AE I simply moved my puppet arm towards specific object, then used Pick Whip to connect arm with the object and that was it. My puppet held that object. Quick and easy. In Character Animator I guess I can't do it the same way. Or maybe there is a way? Please help me I saw Okay Samurai tutorial about that topic and the answer was to make in Photoshop a hand already holding the object and use trigger in Character Animator to use that hand in proper place and time. That seems a lot of work when you dealing with story based cartoon with lot of movement, action and so on. Especially when you make it(like I do) on the spot. I would be very happy with any help in that aspect ALSO (another big problem) how do I make my puppet, for example, jump in the air? I have a problem
I searched the forums for solutions to the "audio levels too low" thing, but none of the solutions work for me. My recordings in Audition are plenty loud, but I still get the error in CA. Also, viseme detection is really bad, even when I use professionally pre-recorded audio, or when I try the new "camera-based muting" option. Any ideas for what I could try?
Anyone else having this problem? It was working fine in the previous version... just updated today.
Whenever I switch from my PC at work to my Mac at home, I have to relink all my files. Is there a preference I'm not finding for the paths to be saved as relative instead of absolute?
i went through a tutorial to get a character set up than when i was ready to make my first recording the buttons are nowhere to be found, and i am seriosly thinking about gving up on trying character animator because when ever i enter something dissapears, and now i cant record, so idk what about that but i would like to be able to just use the record buttong but i cant find it
I created a Character in Photoshop (the canvas size is big) and exported my sequnce into After Effects. Everything looks fine and high quality up until here. I didn't have to scale anything up in fact I made it super big just to be sure. As soon as I export it, every element besides de character looks just fine (even non vector elements) but for some reason the character looks blurry almost and it stands out a lot since everything else is fine. I have tried several export options and none of them seem to work. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Hey everyone, I know that the Twitch Character Trigger extension has been paused for updates because of developer changes on Twitch, but the extension still works for our stream and we still use it. Noticed that the new 3.0 update doesn't have the Twitch extension key. Any way that can easily be included somehow? Thanks!
Hello allI am new on character animator. and I have a question: How could we let walk at least two puppets at the same time on character animator?I want to simulate an event where people are walking claiming their rights.Thank you in advanceSanogo
I just updated version 3 (Character Animator), and the "visemes marker" has me frustrated. The audio is following the blue marker, but I can't align the viseme with the blue marker. I could do it 1/2 frame before or after.... Which makes the puppets' conversation seem a bit off. Is there a way to adjust the viseme, so that I can align it with the marker? Please advise Thanks
Hi folks, I've been working on a rig for work and I've run into some problems. I had no problems with the eye gaze working up until I added other head positions, now the eyes are not moving outside of the change in the head position itself (so no looking down-right, down-left for instance). I've looked at several videos and threads and I just can't get it working. Could someone take a look at my rig and tell what I need to do to get things functioning again?Link to my rig
I am trying to pin a character i have developed to a second character so the physics of their movements match. basically tring to pin a parrot on a pirates shoulder. both characters will have lips sync to different lines. is something like this possible?thank yall
Can I place my PSD puppet artwork in the creative cloud library? If so how? How do I link to it? Thanx
For this scene I am putting in multiple ranks of marching soldiers, and I can't help but wonder, "Is there a better way to do this within the Adobe programs?" Right now I am dragging this puppet dozens of times into the timeline. By selecting them all (one by one), I can get them to all march at once with the arrow key. It is time consuming and I wonder how much longer until I run into performance issues.
Referring to this page, step #2 says to create a comp with the visemes "matching the order of visemes in Character Animator’s Visemes context menu" and gives an example of the order being Neutral, Aa, D "and so on".The problem is that in Character Animator (current version 2.11) the viseme order in the context menu is different. Just to complicate things, the layer order of the visemes in the default head PSD is different again. So… which is the correct order? The actual process of pasting in the keyframe data works fine, it's just that the visemes being displayed in After Effects don't match the ones being displayed in the original Character Animator capture, and short of endless trial and error, I don't know how to fix it.
The latest version of Character Animator introduces an in-built analytical panel which scans through the puppet and tells what exactly the puppet is missing. For example: Issues with unused tags. Issues with Arm IK. Issues with Cycle Layers. Issues with Eye Gaze. Issues with Walk Check out the details of the feature here: https://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-character-animator/using/rigging-issues.html Feel free to reach out with questions. (timecode: 0:30 to 4:17) The latest version of Adobe Character Animator introduces a new behavior called Motion Lines. It lets you add speed lines along the motion path of the fast moving objects. You can define any number of motion lines, with each optionally having a pair of secondary lines. Character Animator (3.0) has introduced this feature which allows you to play an audio file at the same time as a triggered animation, such as a sound effect, voice, or song. For example, you can make a character yell when a yell facial expression is triggered. Your characters become more dynamic and your animation workflows become simpler with audio automatically synced to the triggerable animation. Check out the video shared above to understand this feature. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/ahOjHPK3HCE Feel free to reach out with questions! Back to Character Animator New Features post
Until now, Character Animator did not have any in-built camera system. Hence, to make any camera movement changes like zoom in/out and panning, etc we used to switch to other applications like Adobe After Effects. For the world of animation, it becomes boring to see the characters/puppets in the same position with the same background for a long time. Adobe Character Animator (3.0) gives us an opportunity to make the experience better and the video more interesting to watch. Keyframes in Adobe Character Animator allow for more precise and fluid animation. Using this, you can control the timing of your animation. You can apply keyframe to not only the legacy transform controls (position, scale, and rotation, etc) but also to many other character parameters.
