Hey dear community, I have the following problem. My character picks up an object with magnet behavior, and the object wobbles extremely in the hand. What settings do I need to adjust to make it stand still?
I have two issues main issues with my walking and running cycle.1) As you can see in the example video, my puppet's knees are overbending on every step when he's running. And when he's walking, it's like he's stomping his feet into the ground.2) The other issue I got is that is that the motion is very choppy. The head is moving back and forth, up and down. It doesnt look smooth at all. Does anyone have a fix for this? 🙂
Hi everyone I've seen multiple videos where the person teachings swap set control panel has obvious custom icons/thumnails. Some were text, some were not a match for the layer but a more clear icon for it.Does anyone know how to do this?
Hello, I am trying to turn off two layers with a hot key using a swap set. Basically I'm trying to make my character punch (One hand punching the other on the hip). The problem I am having is One arm is the default lets say the right arm. I have the R key on the punch layer and when that key is pressed the right arm disappears and the punch shows. My problem is the left arm is still showing (dangling there). I've tried various combinations making multiple swap sets but I can't seem to find the right formula since only one layer can be the default. If I could make the left and right arm default then that would hide them both when the punch layer shows. As you can see in the attached image the only one arm is hidden (the default) but not the other which is dangling. I leaned to the side so the arm would be clearer.Any help would be apprecitated. Thanks
Hi, I need some help. I have an event Saturday where I am using my laptop with an HDMI out to a large tv for a bunch of children.I've got the video working and audio (Adobe please after all these years have audio output to hdmi so we don't have to use another program). My issue is since I am using my laptop as an external monitor I can't get the puppet/character fullscreen. It shows the whole CA screen with tabs and everything. If I switch to OBS (and it's on top) then I loose the controls of the character.I just want to have a full screen of my scene where I can puppet the character on the external monitor while keeping the controls visible on my laptop for ease of puppeting.
I had a full body puppet but want to use the head so I used the "save as" command. And on the new file deleted everything except the +head, +body files (i deleted files within the body like arms and legs.). Now I can easily import the head file into character animator, and even to the rig window but when i try and create a scene, the puppet doesn't appear.I even brought in an image for background easily... but no head appears.
I made a puppet of myself to surprise my students in class. I downloaded the blank puppet and replaced the body parts in Photoshop. I imported my puppet to Character Animator and I had rigging issues. I watched the common rigging mistake video and the puppet improved. However, it doesn't move well. The are issues with the mouth. Would someone take a look a the Photoshop file and tell me if the fixing would be easy or hard? And some feedback would be appreciated.

Having a tough time getting my tube shape character to run more naturally. Especially its left leg/foot.Here's what I'm starting with/rigging: And here's where I'm at but stuck on how to improve it: I've tried moving around the targets but nothing looks great. Help!
Hi, I have got multiple puppets, more or less of the same size and structure. It has got quite a few rigging items that took a day for me to complete. Now, I was wondering if there was a way I could port the rigging setting and apply it to the other puppets. Since the structure and size of all the puppets are identical, the rigs would exactly map on to the same position on the rest of the puppets as the first one. Has someone tried something like this?
In Rig mode my character arms in their default state point straight down side by side of the puppet. When I switch to Record mode that position stays the same for a split second then both arms jump to a weird position and stay in that position. I have them on triggers so whatever is happening it's also effecting those positions too. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Couple of issues that have me baffled. Would appreciate any help you can,Thanks, Mick 1. My arm sleeve breaks apart into little pieces when trying to raise my arm.2. The hand is the wrong way round when it reaches the top
Hello. I am importing a puppet from illustrator all the layers are there but the only art work that shows up are vector drawings . The artwork in the other layers isn't visible. The layer is there but the art work is not. I used this very puppet a couple of versions ago without problem now I can't see his face!!!! What am I doing wrong? Do I have to import the whole this to Photoshop and build it??? Thanks for the help!
Hello, I'm not able to get any live audio into Character Animator. It has always said "audio level too low". I've been trying it for 2 days and have been searching the help forums, but have had no luck. I'm using a Mac Book Pro - OS 10.14.3 and Character Animator 2.0.1. The audio input is set to the same input under system preferences and preferences within Character Animator. I've tried with the built in microphone as well as setting up a microphone with my apollo twin interface. I get audio input via my system preferences as well as Adobe Audition. I can record fine in both, but CA gets no live input. I've been recording audio in Audition and importing that audio file into CA, but it would be nice if I could do live audio into CA. Not sure what is wrong. I'm really loving this software so would be nice to get this issue fixed! Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I have my character's arms in regular draggable mode (not IK). When dragging them around, I get the overlapping action, or the "dragging behind" in the hands, as seen in the gif below. Is there a way I can edit the drag amount? It is too much for my taste currently. I noticed that switching to IK eliminates the drag completely, but for this character I'd really rather not have it set as IK. Thanks!
Hello, I solved one problem with having only one layer as the default. This was when I made the A key for a left punch (with the right hand on waist 1 layer with both hands on it) but I wanted both the left and right neutral arms (seperate L & R layers) to be hidden on that on the A key press. This created a problem as when the A key was pressed the one layer (with both hands) appeared but only the default Left hand dissapeared and the right hand was hanging. So, I made an identical swap set but made the Right hand the default and the A key again swapping out the punch image layer). This worked and I started doing it for multiple swap sets.My problem now is when greating controls it is a mess. They keyboard keys puppet perfectly but the on screen puppet control buttons only work with one swap set and not like the keys. Please see attached video for more clarification.https://vimeo.com/911238407/c46429720c?share=copy
Hi! I can't seen to find a tutorial for my problem. The lip sync on my imported video works fine. However, my puppet only lipsyncs with the audio and I can't seem to move it, it also does not blink. When the audio stops, then I can finally move the puppet and it blinks. Thanks
Not sure what's hapening here, but there are a couple parts of my video where a character's ears just start flipping out for no reason. Any idea what I can do to fix this? Here's what the ear mesh looks like:Here's the ear in its folder:Most of the time when I use this pupet the ears are fine. They move around a little bit with gravity when the character moves and it looks great, brings him to life. It's just this part and one other moment (so far) where it happens. I also have other completely different puppets with the same ear set up that do the same thing occasionally. No idea why!Other thing: I kind of like the crazy ear effect for some situations, so in addition to fixing this problem I'd also love to know how to get the ears to flap around like that on purpose haha.Any ideas? Let me know if you need more info/ screenshots/ whatever. Thanks CH gang!
Hi!I find myself in a very bad ch situation, and I'm crossing fingers as hard as I can.A music video I'm making is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but of course problems have perfect timing:I'm about to render the final animations from Ch, to relink them in the already finalized AE comps that are already assembled in PR.Basically the video is done, BUT the last step is relinking the psd files in Ch for the characters, as I've polished the design of them all on different files. I've been keeping the same identical layer structure, as before editing I've turned every layer into smart objects, in order to edit them in a non destructive way. (did the same for the backgrounds in AE, and worked like a charm).Apart for some behaviours and independence, mayhem occured, and basically all the animations have to be done again, for the whole 4 minutes long music video, so I really hope to find a solution :'DI've tried rasterizing, I've tried relinking and apply changes gradually, I've tried tri
Hi, i have only recently started experimenting with Character Animator.I think it is really cool that you can create stuff like the chicken mini-game, but how can i export this kind of project so other people can use it? Is it possible to export it to a format that can be embedded or something?Thank You.
Puppet shows in Rig Mode but not in Record Mode...Why??? Am I missing a behaviour or something. I attached the file.
hola mi computador no me permite usar Character Ch sale Error code( Container.js:249)
Hi!My puppet's body has a wierd shaking when the camera is turned on and I don't understand why. (It doesn't disappear when I record it.)Any ideas how to fix this?I made a few character riggings before and never had this issue, this character has an unusual posture and this time the ordrer of the layers is a bit different, but everything moves just fine besides this constant shaking:Here's how it looks:https://youtu.be/tguzgwTo5Ow
