I am having trouble connecting the two arms to stick. the stick is in the upper level of the right arm and it works. (One point drag in hinge mode). The left arm is connected well to the chest but I can not fix it with the left hand in the level of the right arm. I attach an explanatory drawing.
Hello...I have a puppet that was working fine. I wanted to add head turning, so I duplicated the AI file and added the appropriate layers. I started a new CA file and tagged everything from scratch. Nothing is different from before, other than the new heads. The problem I am now experiencing is that when the head turns the mouths distort. I have used the stock CA mouths with minor modification. I'm a noob to CA so hopefully I'm just screwing up.Links below are for the project folder and the AI file. Any help is greatly appreciated!https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gwxbp0j0ud8umww/AAArAAzGLwJW0XF8GTQE13mla?dl=0https://www.dropbox.com/s/hl9864r77mv18q0/Ernie%20Build%204.ai?dl=0
I am using Adobe Character Animator CC (Beta) and I have imported my character from photoshop CC 2017. when i imported him anywhere that the coloring of an object or shape is a lower transparency it is gray/black when opened in character animator. please see attached picture of the character animator version. I do not even know where to stat to fix this. im very new with these programs.
My team and I are planning a web series, and I would like to be able to use Character Animator to seed animations in AE. Are there plans to implement any kind of granular export feature to AE? It would be good to be able to import each character animation as a composition with keyframes that move each and every element visible to the animator who will be polishing, combining, and compositing. Would be nice for these to be infinitely scalable if possible.I've seen a similar thread to the question above, so apologies for redundancies. But I've got another one for you:It would further be cool to have a mode that, for illustrator puppets, imports discreet elements as animated paths so they could be fed into other plugins that accept mask layers as inputs. Like the eyes come in as their own set of paths, the mouth as another, the hair as another, the nose... each on their own layer comprised of masks only. This could open up an absurd world of possibilities.
Since I have updated the new cc beta, the camera doesn't work anymore.I'va red the FAQ why doesn't the camera and microphone not show my webcam's video. So I've checked :_ the camera button is blue- only one camera is detected- I've update my graphics card Geforce GTX 980M.But it doesn't work
We've been asked quite a lot how we manage to stream our characters to Facebook Live, so we've made a video to show you how easy it is
When I press CTRL+G it wont make a "sub group" under Head, to make a "turning head group".
I have serious problems to make the head moves up and down remaining connected to the neck during the walk cycle of the body.I attach an explanatory drawing:

Hopefully it will work this time.*I've just finished making my first ever puppet, and I'd like to set it free on the world. I tried the Dynamic Link method to view a scene created in Character Animator and I got an error. The error message box reads:After Effects warning: The file (here it has the location of the file I just dragged) could not be found. I have the items in a folder on my desktop. Do the files have to be somewhere else for Dynamic Link to work?? Any suggestions?ThanksSusy
Is there a way to view your audio track waveforms in Character Animator? It would be easier to record additional takes with movement if I could see when my puppet's dialogue was coming up. Currently, I always react a little bit late b/c I have to wait until I hear/see her talking first.
Hi there, I'm trying to record several behaviours in various takes, i.e. two draggers, one for each arm and I've already recorded the first take (left arm). The problem is when I try to record the second take, for the right arm, Ch doesn't play what I have already recorded, instead, the puppet goes to the rest pose. I did this with previous versions of Ch and never had this issue, is there something I'm missing? Please advise! Many thanks!

Is there a place or a plan for a place where we can share our puppets with each other? I would love to share out some of my creations and see what others are creating as well.

I've created a character and added two sticks for the arm bones with a space in the middle for the elbow. However, when I go to animate the arms, the elbow always bend in the opposite direction that I want. Is there a way to inverse the direction/angle at which the elbow bends?
I wanted to introduce myself to the forum and let you know what my goals are with character animator.I finished writing a book a few weeks ago and I'm editing it now. I'm going to turn it into an animated series and put that up on YouTube. It's my first time making an animated project. I'm still editing minor errors in the book (3rd draft) but I've started doing the storyboards for the animations, and I'll be looking for voice actors in my local area once those are done and I have the flipbook and script organized for them. I'm hoping to use the adobe suite, including character animator, as my main workhorse in puppet rigging as they look to be very powerful in what they can do. I'm currently on disability and this is what I'm hoping will be my way off of it, writing books and animating them in a cyclical series of production to make a living through youtube. It's going to be a very busy year, and I'm looking forward to it. I was was wondering what your goals were with character animat
Hello, I've been learning how to use Character Animator over the last few weeks by following the tutorial video Making Your First Character (Adobe Character Animator Tutorial)I created and modified the same head over and over until I got the movement, blinks, mouth movement, etc perfectly. I moved on to step 2, adding a body.I continued working on the same file where I had the head (Illustrator), and I added a body layer. When I went back to Character Animator, all the heads "fell apart", the eyes, nose, mouths, etc became separated from the main head that housed them. They all moved over to the right, away from the head. I did move the heads on the original illustrator file, so I believe this caused the error...Is there anything I can do to align these parts back correctly in Character Animator? Or do I have to re-rig everything and re-tag all my layers? I feel like there must be an easier way to re-align the faces back onto the heads...Also, one other question. How can I make my pupp
take a look at my current puppet. My issue is with the pupils. I've been reading other discussions with similar problems but i'm not sure you've responded quite accurate enough for my own issue. I also am using a more anime- based eye (non-circular w/ detailed iris) Which could possibly be the reason why but I didn't wanna go thru any more editing until I have an answer for sure. The eye brows move decently. but the pupils have NO boundaries. I read that OKAY Samurai mentioned adding an invisible box in the eye layer to set parameters but idk if i want to get that detailed. I just want a basic starting template so i can start creating this cartoon series. Thanks for the help in advance Team!Dropbox - Character Ani
I draw a simple face in illustrator , use the pencil . grouping and naming all parts as the tutorial.when import to charactor animator , all thing are fine except the face shape , even I stop moving , it transform randomly all the time. why ?I checked all the possible mistake : two artboard ? layer order ?…… no reslut. help
Hi, my apologies if other had brought this up already but since I couldn't find it in the Forum, I figured I'll start this Thread and see if anyone can help.Sometime when I made changes in the main Illustrator File (say I add a new arms), when i switched to Character Animator, it just position some of my layers weird in some random position. Here's a screen shot of the file in Illustrator Here's what it looked like in Character Animator Now I know you can fix it by dragging all the different parts of the body back to the correct position but I want to know if there's a way to prevent this from happening in the first place. I should also mention that this only happened to independence layers that had the symbol in the layer name. I had this problem whenever I add some new layers to the hand/head or the body in Ch Preview 3, 4 and CC 2017 (Beta). If anyone had any idea on how to prevent this from happening, I'll greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
hi, how do i export my scene with a transparent background? In media encoder it renders with a black background. I'd like to open it in final cut pro x. thanks
HelloI have installed Adobe Character Animator, and when I tried to run the features of this program, the next message appeared on my screen "OpenGL setup failed. Updating your graphics card driver may fix this issue".I have an Intel HD(R) grapichs family, with main driver "igdumd64.dll" version 8.15.10.2291.My system says that I have the last version of my graphic card driver, but I know that my laptop is old (also I have Windows 7) and searching on the internet I have found two download options for my driverDownload Graphic Driver version 10.18.10.3496 (2014) . Appears on HP web Download Graphic Driver version 8.15.10.2622 (2012). Appears on Intel webWhich one should I choose?Could I loose some functions if I do that? Thanks
Hi! I've been gone forever, but I'm back and trying my hand again at learning this awesome program. I've built this new Patrick puppet:So far, things are working pretty great with him, but I still have a lot to learn! One thing is how to get different areas to have different dangle effects. For example, the current settings are to accommodate his bandana tails. They have a nice little sway to them when he moves. I like it. However- now I want to add a little movement dangle to other areas like his back pan, his belt, his fork, spoon, pizza. When I add the dangle handle to those items, the same wind and gravity settings are applied to them. If I adjust it, it also adjusts for the bandana tails. How can I effect these items differently or independently of each other? For some, I kinda want a rattle effect more than a dangle. Like the back pan, I want to kinda sturdily rattle around when he moves instead of a squashy feel. I
Is there a maximum depth to the number of sub-layers (groups) in your puppet file that are eligible for enabling warp independent? It looks like you can only go 4 group levels deep and then the warp independent option goes away. Is that correct, or is there potentially another reason my hair strands in the file structure below don't have the warp independent "crown icon" option? I want the hair to warp independently so I can give it some dangle physics. Do I need to kill the "Hair and Crown" group folder in order to bring hair up a level in order to have the option to make the hair strands warp independently?
