Hello everybody. For some strange reasons, my Character animator interface keeps crashing after showing me these two error messages (parts of them are in french, but they do not give any interesting informations). Is it a instrinsic problem of the software, or has it something to do with my board? Thanks in advance.
I'm trying to create a character in Adobe Character Animator using an image: I edit the regions of the image. When I have finished the defining the regions, it looks like this: When I am finished defining the regions, I get this: Why is most of the hair missing??? What am I doing wrong? I would *greatly* appreciate any help anyone can provide. Many thanks!
Hello,I've been using Character Animator for a class, so I'm still a bit new to it. So far I have all 5 sides of my puppet rigged, Left Profile, Right Profile, Right Quarter View, Left Quarter View, and Frontal View. The camera and body tracker will sometimes work, especially when idle. However, when I start recording a motion it doesn't register the profile view. For example, I am trying to record a Catwalk continuous motion with the Right Profile view. Once I start recording, it only shows the frontal view, even if I am positioned to the side.Is there any way to fix this, or even just choose the specific profile view throughout without worrying about head-turning or body-tracking? I am happy to provide any further information if needed. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hey thanks for reading this! I am recording animation to my puppet in layers, ya know the usual eye movement, then triggers, then face turns. Anyway every time I hit record it creates a new audio track. Any idea why Adobe Character Animator is doing this and how to stop it? Thank you for any and all advice.
We have created a character and rigged it to auto swap arms/hands depending on their position. The auto swap arms work fine when we move them using the drag feature. But when we switch to body tracker camera input there are problems. The arms do not move correctly. They will not move in front of the body or down to the character's sides. It is as if the range of motion is limited. Also, the hands move to position but remain stationary if the person in front of the webcam is waving, for example. For additional context, without using auto swap, just a simple single armed character, the camera body tracker works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I'm trying to get a character to pick up a sock and to have the sock dangle in their hand. Can't for the life of me figure it out. It's either stiff in their hand, or once I add the dangle tag the magnet isn't recognized. It's driving me insane. PLEASE HELP!

I'm trying to export my CH scene into Premiere pro but everytime I try, the background come sout black. Ive read through the other discussions and tried those methods but I still get a black background, whether its a dyynamic link or through AME. hi! I am doing a 2 minutes long video in Character animator and my timeline is greyed out after 30 sec.. how do I extend the work area? thanks!!
I am using The Professional puppet to create a five short training videos. I have exported the puppet from the first video, and re-used the same puppet with the same rigging in all five videos. In four of the videos, the puppet's head looks normal. In the fifth video, his head looks normal for 98% of the video. See normal head/neck position below.During the last few seconds at the end of the fifth training video, yellow text appears that tells the viewers to pause the video and complete the activity. During those seconds, the puppet's head floats way up.This behavior does not happen anywhere else in this video, or in any of the other videos.Rigging: Head is NOT independent (or it wouldn't stay attached to the body), and the head/neck handle is just below the chin. He has a head/neck handle for both the "Left Quarter" as well as for the "Head," and the handles are in the same place.I have tried making the head/neck handle "Fixed," and it didn't change anything. I have also re-recorded th
When I go to the home page and see available puppets, or if I open Puppet Maker to start customizing a puppet, I have no idea whatsoever what the puppet's behaviors are. Can it do a 1/4 head turn? Can it perform in profile (side view), so that two puppets can talk to each other? Can it nod up and down? Can it breathe? Etc. I work for a non-profit organization that creates videos for people with developmental, visual, motor disabilities, etc., and we need a customizable 3D puppet that can do all of the above. (Except "breathing" isn't all that important.) The only way you can get the answer to these questions is AFTER you start a scene, import the puppet, and select the puppet to look at the behaviors. Some of the puppets allow you to go into rigging and set up a behavior I am looking for, some do not. I would like a behavior preview available, perhaps by right-clicking the puppet's thumbnail? It needs to show two categories: [1] What can the puppet do without going into Riggi
I'm trying to animate a skeleton character with face and body tracking. The character has been supplied to me by an illustrator as a flattened Photoshop file whch I'm choping up to create the differecnt body parts. My first issue is that this character is drawn from a three-quarter side view. All the tutorials show setup for a front view so I'm not sure if I need to alter something here. Next, the mouth movement should be all based on a swivel motion of the jaw bone. I would love to be able to lip sync this but again the setup is different from everything I've found on tutorials. I'm wondering if the nutcracker jaw is the answer here? If anyone is able to point me in the right direction I'd be super greatful.
Hey everyone, I am hoping this is just a layer that's not tagged correctly. My character was working perfect until I added the head turner and now the mesh on the face get's distorted.I tried looking for answers in the forum and the best one so far is to use the ninja template but I'm hoping I won't have to.This is how my rig is nowI am hoping I can get some help and I am thankful in advance.
Any ideas on what I have wrong here? Just started messing around with Charater animator less then a month ago.
As a passionate Dungeons & Dragons player, I love using the website dnddiceroller.org to roll my virtual dice. The 3D dice roller on this website is an amazing feature, and I want to learn how to incorporate it into my Character Animator animations. If you're an Adobe Character Animator expert, I'm looking for your best tips and tricks on how to create a character that can roll the 3D dice on dnddiceroller.org. How do you create the character and rig it in Character Animator? How do you incorporate the 3D dice roller into your animations and make it look seamless?I would love to hear from the Adobe community on this topic. Share your knowledge and experience, and let's make our D&D sessions even more exciting with custom characters that can roll virtual dice in style! And don't forget to check out dnddiceroller.org to see the 3D dice roller in action.
Hi everyone,I've been trying to make the pupils of my puppet move for the past 4 days, and since I cannot get this basic thing simply done I honestly wonder if I should continue putting efforts into learning more about this software.I've watched several videos on the topics - offical ones from Adobe and other from users like myself. I simply can't get this working.First thing that I realized is that even though I name the layers following the hierarchy and naming conventions from Adobe the imported puppet is not properly tagged. I learned how to correct that but still no success with the pupils.Secondly following the advice from a few videos I created an additional layer for the pupil range with a low opacity that I properly tag as such through the text tags but the pupils are still not moving.I tried a few other things/ have been playing around with many different parameters, still without success. When I compare the naming convention, hierarchy and tags of examples provided by A
While I'm learning Ch, I'm constantly making a adjustments to what effect it has, but the problem with this is, I soon forget where I was in the first place?1. The Undo cmd+Z and Redo shift+cmd+Z is very useful, but sometimes I would just like to be able to Reset and start again! Is there a Reset option?2. I would like to turn off the options/settings, so I can see, from scratch, what each does in turn. Is there a Blank Canvas of Settings? Hope that makes sense!?
Hello Community! Hope ya'll had a great weekend?I need your collective genius to help solve this frustrating dilema im having with my Tutle Traveler character. Ive only just jumped back into character animator recently, and have been struggling with rigging up this Turtle character, over the last week or so, and have reached a road block with the sack of treasure on his back (CH file link below). I think i have the head good enough for my needs, but i cant seem to figure out the treasure on his back to move the way i imagine it to? My goal is to: Get the Sack to move with the body/shell, but not stretch (as if its sitting on top of the shell )Idealy i would like it to shift slightly from the top a bit, as if it has weight to it? but not a must have, just a "like to have"). I wanted the props under the of the rope to swing slightly (rubber chicken, fishing rod/fish), as well as the items in the sack peeking out the top.I imagine with the items in the sack. peeking out, i would need
All the characters' recorded parts in my Character Animator project have stopped doing anything. I have recorded parts for five characters - lip synch, dragger, face, motion library. But after closing Character Animator and then opening the project again, all the recorded behaviours have stopped doing anything. I can see all the recorded behaviours in the Timeline - but the characters don't do anything when I press Play. I can see the three puppets on the background in the Scene Panel, but when I press Play they remain motionless, as if I'd not recorded any behaviours for them. Is someone able to advise me? - Unfortunately I can't upload the Ch project with all the data and media as it's 550MB. Thanks in advance for any help, Greg
Hey gang hope everyone is doing great.I'm learning a lot watching the tutorials for CH.My issue is that my characters lip sync camera detection isn't always mouthing the words that I'm saying, seems the shape is off. I grabbed Chad just to test but still seems a little off tooAny thoughts and thank you for your help in advance and much appreciated. I am adding a screen shot of the rig and also a video I recorded to test the lip sync. Thanks again.
Hello,I'm new to character animator. I drew my own puppet with mouth movements and arm movements so my character can raise his arm and talk. I was able to figure out the swap set to make it talk using the how to videos. My question is, is there a way to make his arm trigger (switch to a different pose) automatically via audio or when it recognizes sound? I don't want to us the keyboard for this trigger. I tried the cycle layers, layer picker (using the audio input option) and leader/follower behaviors but couldn't get any of them to work. Am I missing something? Is this possible because I've seen a puppet on a youtube channel with this feature. Please let me know if this is even possible. Note: Also I do not have a camera hooked up at this time. Thanks much
Hello, i have a question, i've been sitting here for hours trying to make it so that when you drag the hand it will also move the forearm and the bicep together while all three being independant object, is there some kind of parent option i'm not seeing? I remember being able to do this with an old version of the software back in the days (i rememberber i could do that with the stapler tool i think) but apparently a lot of things changed and i can't do the same effect anymore.I make a dummy character so that it is visually easier to understand:https://drive.google.com/open?id=1VYu0Y8Y2rZi1UE-rshB8sjwSpfyt9Yw-Please help.Thank you very much !
Does anyone know how to un-share a part of your puppet after you've clicked "Make Shareable?" (Other than using the History menu to un-do it?)I have a set of arms I would like to share within my puppet so I can use one set for each of my body views; however, I need to add a Swap Set to the arms first. Once you've clicked "Make Shareable," the option to add a Swap Set is no longer available. You can add triggers, but add Swap Set is greyed out -- why is that? So, I'd like to un-share my arms, add the Swap Set, and then make them shareable! Thoughts?
I have a puppet with a head and a buddy group of layers. Inside the head group there are 5 separated layers for 5 different views. The puppet works perfect when it is standing, but when I add walking behaviour to the puppet and want it to walk, it is not walking.Should I use different bodies for different head views?
