I am working with the free puppet Tull and I decided I wanted to change the color to Orange (FFA500). Had no problem doing that on the tail and head. But when I got to the arms and hands (the layer called Shape 10 as an example) the fill options are greyed out. I have searched forums, youtube, etc but can't seem to find how to edit the color of the arms and hands for Tull. Any help would be greatly appreciate.
Hi. I have assigned the leader follower to each arm as leader and each oar/paddle as follower. I would like to assign a trigger to move the arms to get the rowing action. I was looking at the'Knight' puppet but could not see how the 'swipe' was done. Thanks, Tracey.

Hi!I changed the order of the layers of my puppet in Illustrator (move his arms above his body instead of under) after recording all the movements in CA. However, now all handles are unknown and my puppet doesn't move his arms anymore. Is there a way to (a) get my old version back, or (b) connect handles to the already made movements, so I don't have to record every move again? Thanks in advance!Eva
I'm new to Character Animator, and I'm trying to create a scene with two puppets, and two different recordings. First puppet talks, then when finished the second puppets starts talking. I'm just not sure how to do this. Any assistance would be appreicated.
Hi all, having a weird new issue in Character Animator that I haven't had before. My webcam will intermitently disconnect from CA, at which point my puppet freezes and the preview window displays the message "Waiting for camera" -- If I then click the camera and microphone toggle it will sometimes come back immidiately, sometimes I have to toggle away and back to it. At the time the camera disconnects the LED on the camera goes out. I am running the latest version of Character Animator (V22.2.1)Webcam is an elgato FacecamI have NDI Tech suite installed as I used to be able to send the puppet to OBS I have noticed the cam will stay semi-stable if I just leave Character Animator open and do nothing, but as soon as I begin clicking around or jumping to other apps it dies almost immidiatly. Pulling my hair out here, have run numerous software updates, updated the firmware on the cam. Tested the cam and in all other places it is stable (google chat, discord, OBS) - have also
I made my characters' eyebrows independent and tagged them as eyebrows but in the scene their default position moves to the middle of the eye and their movement is only subtley up and down. How to fix?
Hi, w have a proejct where want to mimic real movement expressions, shoulders are a big part of that,in other software i could just make the collarbone for the articulation of the shoulde to to help mimic this movement. but in character animator i cannot seem to make this work. is there a way to do this (for production reasons i cannot share my file unfortunaly) I hope anyone cna help me Cheers Benny
I wanted to select many puppets in the timeline to activate and use all their triggers at the same time. I stumble on this thing where I can just drag whole puppets into another puppets rig layers. This puppet then becomes a shareable file or a nested puppet I suppose. I can trigger them all this way while kind of keeping them separate puppets still. Is this how it is intended to be used or do I have it wrong?
I know it depends on raster resolution but which would be better for performance, a 2000 by 2000 photoshop puppet or an illustrator puppet. Is vector art pretty intensive to stream?
I added fixed pins to my characters feet but he just ends up floating in the air and doesn't bend at the waist. Also, I can drag the arms up and down but they don't detect in the camera. Any idea what could be the problem?
This is my character Charlie. He has trouble brushing the back of his throat with his toothbrush. I layered/rigged him so that the toothbrush in Charelie's left hand is beneath some of the artwork of his mouth to demonstrate the toothbrush being inserted into his mouth. I have it so that it actually does look like he he brushing his teeth. Only issue is to make it work I had to layer certain face artwork outside of my +Head group, so now when it comes to recorded I'll have less visual effects, because he can't move his mouth artwork along with his head. Any help, thanks in advice.
I'd like to swap between many background images as I livestream on obs. Is it better to have this images in character animator as a swap set or have them in obs scenes? I assume there is a way to switch between images in an obs scene.
I am new to CH. I created a very simple puppets and in regging mode I tried to add dragger behavior to hands and to fix feet to ground. I got two errors messages: 1-No layers or handles could be found for dragger behavior 2- No layers or handles could be found for fixer behavior I appreciate if any one, has experiece, can help me to correct that.

Hi, I have three views in this puppet: Right, center and left. I gave every view its own eye gaze behavior, since it doesn't work with one in the root level (not with tagging of the views as the respective views and not without). It also works on another puppet I have. But on this one the eye gaze behavior just only works on the frontal view. Maybe I am not seeing something. I tried deleting the walk behaviors, that I also have on the side views and since that is also controlled by the arrow keys, I thought that might be a good idea. But that didn't do anything. The behavior actually also doesn't work with the cam input. In the rigging panel it is showing me, that it is recognizing all the tags similar to the properly functioning frontal view. Does anyone know a solution to this? Thanks. Here's the puppet:https://www.dropbox.com/s/809r9wkq3g25513/stb.puppet?dl=0
Hi there ! I use the creative suite, and wanted to try the cool Character Animator masterpiece. It opens up normal , loads the screen with all the models and even the custom setfor an avatar seems to work. I come as far as the rendering window. It will create many pictures but not open anything afterwards; only showing:Error in Ch-Version 22.3x65 , and for example "Thorne.ai" could not be accessed.I reinstalled everything like 5 time by now - restarting the computer, updating the graphics card driver and cleaned all the junk with AntiMalwareBytes. What is going on? Why does the program not let me in and try? Thanks my friends all over the world. I am very good at photography; so if anyone has any questions- always welcome. But Adobe support, I am helpless 😞
I have 2 Markers in a character animator scene, which I imported to Premiere Pro with an dynamic link. But the Markers don`t show up in Premiere Pro. Is this function only working in after effects? I would like to line up two scenes perfectly and wanted to use markers for that. Is there another way to define the exact in-point and out-point of a scene to be imported to Premiere Pro (it seems to import the entire scene lengh and not just the working area). And THANK YOU so much for building this amazing program and providing all of the tutorials, free puppets etc. to get us started. It is a pleasure to work with Character Animator!
I created a face turn for my character and the face is warping in every direction. Does anyone know why this could be happening? I checked if there were any hidden shapes in the illustrator file but couldn't find anything. I've attached the character and the Ch/Illustrator layers for reference. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!
I have a puppet with a Left Quarter view as its default. Both sets of eyelids react to the camera movement, but the right set reacts at about three times the strength. I've examined tags, I also tried removing the "left quarter" and "frontal" tags, but no luck. The eyelids on this puppet had three variations for a swap-set and I was able to get a working puppet by getting rid of the options and it worked fine. So then I tried making full eye folders for each position and making the eyes a swap set and I got the same weird thing where only the right eyelids overreact. I'm finding workarounds here, so I'm not screwed, but I would LOVE to know why this happens and if I'm the only one it's happened to. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!
Hello. I have been tasked with the responsiblity to take over animation for an established children's page on youtube. I would need help with puppet creation and good animation in character animator. Please let me know if interested.
Hi there, i´m just trying to export a sequenz as h264. but in media encoder, directly startet from character animator export, just gives out an error!"could not read from the source. So I have been unable to move the left or right foot by the draggable tagged "heel' after updating my CH beta. All of my previous puppets are responding the same way which is why I believe it's an update issue. Is anyone else experiencing this?
