Even more signs of CF's continued demise

I alwasy hated how MM/Adone marketed PHP more tha CF - here's yet another
sign of Adobe's commitement (lack thereof) to CF:

"Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox aims to provide a similar user
experience across different platforms. However, PHP users will benefit from
an extra set of features that is not available on the ColdFusion and ASP
VBScript server models. "

I'm sick of this and all other such things - Eg; Adobe reps recccomeding
against CF, telling customers its not scalable. And all the other blatant
signs that Adobe are not going to market CF properly anymore.

I don't agree with 98% of what Andy says - you see me battle him
all the time, BUT I really do believe that MM and now Adobe need
to do better job of supporting CF. Just the small thing of not having
the "getting started" tutorials available (but leaving links for people to
chase in circles to find them) is very poor marketing.

I love CF. I want CF to succeed and grow. I think it has wonderful
potential but I don't think Adobe (or MM before it) markets it correctly.
It is most important to show those getting into dynamic web sites just how
easy CF is. And, unfortunately, the Toolbox is heavily PHP supported.
That is not a bad thing in itself as long as CF is just as well treated and
maybe even more integrated. After all CF is what Adobe sells.

in my defense it's andy after all, when does he ever get anything right? but i
guess there's a first time for everything. more importantly it doesn't have any
significance as far as adobe's marketing cf goes--if you know the history of
those bits you know *why* php has "more" right now.

it's still andy's same old same old fraud as far as i'm concerned. there isn't
anything to discuss, it's just andy grant & i've already wasted too much time.

Can't we turn this around and give Adobe credit for marketing Dreamweaver toward a platform as common as PHP?

Just last week people were blasting Adobe for poor marketing and failure to attract. If Dreamweaver can pull in some of the PHP crowd, who is to to say that those very same PHP programmers won't take a look at the CF tools within Dreambuster and give CF a try?

I swear, some people can twist any statement into anything they want. How this can be interpretted as a sign of demise for CF is a far reach.

I am all for Adobe catering to the PHP crowd. If it helps the bottom line for Dreamweaver sales, great.

Well, regardless of who started this thread, the reported quote is indeed there, and I agree that's it's really rather a sad sign for ColdFusion.

Click the FAQ tab (not the FAQ link on the left), then click "Will Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox have the same functionality across all supported server models? "

Unfortunately PaulH, the troll is right, it is there:

Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox aims to provide a similar user
experience across different platforms. However, PHP users will benefit from
an extra set of features that is not available on the ColdFusion and ASP

re: you won't. fake email address + phony quote = andy grant, our one & only
    troll.

So we can safely assume its not "Andy Grant" then as the equation doesn't
add up (Eg; the quote is there on the adobe website for anyone too see")

Best you concentrate on down playing it now we have established it exists.

    go to http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/addt/

then look under FAQ's > "Which CS3 server models are supported"

I can't base much on one such occurence - but this is one of many. MM were
even worse - under Dreamweaver > Related Resources they never even hinted at
CF as being related - yet there weere were a million PHP references in
    there!

I can find a list of places where it shows in the search, but then
I don't see it on the actual pages listed:
