Hello Adobe Community.  I'm pretty new to Adobe Dimension, so this may be a simple fix. For a class project, I'm creating custom packaging and placing graphics on them. I'm unable to import graphics on the custom models, but I've searched Adobe forums and found out it might be because I need to generate UVs. Well, whenever I try to generate UVs, I get a pop up that states "Unable to Generate UVs" and it suggests to submit a ticket to customer care. I submitted my ticket, but I figured I'd get input here in the meantime. For reference, I'm using a Mac and the most recent version of Adobe Dimension. Please let me know if any of you all have expereinced this and/or have a solution.  Thanks!

repeating an earlier question. Shadow shows in design, but not in render or render preview.

I'm running Dimension CC 3.0 and in the last few days I'm having troubles with the rendering of certain simple scenes with three to four objects. The rendering phase often stops at 49% or 50% and won't progress at all for more than 15 minutes then I have to abort, usually it's always under 5 mins. I never had this problem but it appears the latest update might have caused these problems. How can I fix this?

I have opened and used Dimension CC absolutely fine in the past day or so, but now it won't open due to the specs of my laptop. Any reasons why this would be?

Hi there, I'm a beginner at dimension and photoshop - I'm trying to wrap/decal a single image over multiple seperate surfaces to model a light installation, however when I try to use decal the image repeats for each surface. I want it to spread across each pole as a single image.Any ideas? Please see attachment of 1) the poles I'm trying to spread the image across 2) the original image 

It is weird. Does anyone get this stupid dimension to read any materials? No matter if obj., glb., every program recognizes the textures, out of dimension. Even Photoshop has no problems. What is the problem? Any ideas?

I'm new to dimension but have a question around embossing and what's possible. I've been doing some spirits work and have managed to make a pretty standard spirits bottle in Illustrator > Photoshop > Dimension via youtube tutorials. My original design has some embossing on the structure itself and wondering if theres anyway to work with embossings in dimension. My hypothesis was if I could make the embossed graphic its own 3d object, and use that object as the "decal" to warp it onto the structure. So instead of adding a graphic decal, adding an object (Which I see isn't possible). Is the only way to have embossings via a photoshopped graphic that appears embossed? Thanks

I've been given art that needs to be mapped onto a basketball. So,I need to be able to strip the panel art onto each panelI need to be able to get a basketball texture to appear to distort the artI need the traditional black lines between each panel. What I have so far, is a manufacturers template containing the different panels, in vector art.  Any suggestions?

Hi. I'm new to Dimension. I installed it today and did a few tutorials, and now I am trying to overlay a graphic on a sphere model. The graphic is my own file that I made in Photoshop. It is a png file.  I'm following what sure seems like the right menu path, but nothing happens. Here are the steps I'm taking. Would really appreciate hearing what I'm missing! 1.) I have my sphere model file open, and I select the sphere.2.) On the toolbar, I hover over the + sign and see a bubble message that says "Add and Import Content." Sounds like what I want to do, so I click it.3.) On the menu that appears, I click "Import Your Content" and then "Place Graphic on Model".4.) A dialog opens where I can navigate to my graphic file and I do that, and double-click.5.) The dialog closes and I see a spinning blue circle for a little while--then nothing. I never see any change, and I don't see my graphic either on the model or imported into my library.  Whaaaat am I missing? 

Hi, I am a beginner. I made a graphic on illustrator. This graphic is meant to be dragged into dimensions and onto a cube bottle. It will wrap around the 4sides of the cube. nothing on top and bottom side. When i add it to the bottle however, and try to scale it around the bottle, the graphic only enlarges to a maximum of two side of the cube, it doesnt come on the other 2, please let me know as to possible solutions. thanks

I want to to delete a material applied to a model, I'm unable to do that. 

What I am trying to do is 3d model floor plans for a new hospital of the future. I am finding my Dimension file has grown significantly to 7 GB in just a few days as I have added detail to just 2 floors (I have to lay out 7 floors). I'm using all Stock Adobe assets with some simple png image overlays. I have a Ryzen 7 3700X @3.6GHz with 64GB of Ram, NVidia Quadro P5000 with 16GB of VRam. SSD drive.  Is Dimension the wrong tool for this? I saw in one post that "Dn file size = remove the history". How do I remove the history (do I have excess baggage I don't need)? Or can I lay out each floor separately and then combine them somehow at the end?

I just purchased the full Creative Cloud Desktop from Adobe website and have updated all programs to today.  Today I went to play with Adobe Dimension and the main screen keeps going back and forth to full black screen in which I can not do anything.  Any advise would be appreciated. As you can see my hardware setup is more than able to handle 3D graphics and this software. 

Hi, my first time here! Thanks evrybody in advance for any help. Dimension (3.4 verison)  keeps distorting decals when there are "holes" (windows, cuts...) on the model's surface.Take a look at the attached screenshot: this is very annoying when working with packaging! The bag in the picture is a default Dimesion model.  Hope someone can help! Federica.  

I've created a model of a bottle in Blender. There is an inner smaller "contents" and a larger outer "bottle" object. The inner has a graphic applied to it as a fill, and the outer is set as a glass material. In the design view it looks as expected, but on render or in the render preview, there are stripes appearing on the surface of the outer where it appears to be taking on the fill of the inner.  The first pic is the render, the 2nd is a screenshot of the design view with render preview on, the right bottle having the outer bottle layer turned off to reveal just the inner contents object. The 3rd pic is a screenshot of the design view without render preview. I don't understand what these stripes are or  how to get them to not be there. 

Is it possible to export my shape spinning as a video? I made a bullet and I want to some how  record it spinning to show the shadows and stuff but I can't figure out how. Thanks for any help 🙂 

I've create a scene for some packaging witgh a rectangular prism set to the dimensions the packaging is supposed to be. When I place my packaging image on the object it gets placed at 42.5% scale which is annoying, but also when I resize to 100% the image ends up much larger than the actual packaging size. it makes no sense.to put numbers to the description: box is 831mm W by 196mm H by 146mm D. Front image is 831mm by 196mm in photoshop, when placed in Dimension and resized to 100% it is larger than the front face of the object.

I am new to dimension and 3d. I made an object in photoshop and exported to dimension as .obj. When I add a graphic and try to scale it up it glitches and distorts. I tried 'uv map' and using the image as a fill but neither would work for me. Hopefully the video explains my issue better:

Hi, I am trying to render down a file which contains a 3D object, but for some reason, there is a problem in doing so. Ideally, I would like to be able to render my image to a high quality jpg file. But it will take on average say 2 to 3hrs. Obviously, no one has this amount of time!  Pls help!

Hey, I'm still waiting for Dimension to update (how many updates must we endure? It's really starting to bog down my work flow) but if there isn't a cycling kit mock up available, how do I create my own? Is that even a possibility?  

I imported a mesh obtained from Turbosquid. I guess Dimension refers to it as "models", not mesh. It came with all the materials and textures needed. When I tried to import those assets, they were all grayed out. If I tried to use "Place graphic as decal" Dimension would recognize the files, but of course that doesn't work because the images have to surround the mesh, not just function as a mapped image (like a decal). Is this a limitation of Dimension?

Hi,  Just double clicked Dimension to exit fullscreen and move it to another screen then it minimizes to the taskbar and wont resize up again - reinstall is the only way to fix the problem it seems... not very fun Version 3.4 .

I recently purchased a model from Turbosquid and every time I drag in the file, the material doesn't show. I know that the mtl needs to be in the same folder but it's still not dragging in. What's the best solution for this? Thanks!
