I installed Dimension through the Creative cloud desktop app. but it has never been able to launch. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times running as administrator, installing previous versions, all to no avail. I'm very new to Adobe Dimension, but it doesn't seem to feature a library where you can save objects as symbols, and then add multiple instances of a single symbol to the stage, and when you edit the symbol, all instances get updated.The same as in Illustrator & Animate, for instance.That would be very useful!

I am trying to download the serialized version of Adobe Dimensions but I cannot see it listed anywhere. I am assuming I should be able to download this via the old Creative Cloud Packager using one of the serial numbers we have had in the past. I can see the named version but it is the serialised version that I need. I have downloaded and installed this in the past (so I know we have the correct serial number)  but my download appears to be corrupted and is no longer useable, hense needing a new download. My goal is to download a serialised version of Dimensions that I can install on Mojave. I already have this installed and working on machines that were originally on 10.12.x (when Dimensions was installed) and have now been upgraded to Mojave with Dimensions still working correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have imported a .obj file. The file consists of only one body. Is it possible to assign a material only to individual surfaces?

I try to render a file in 6000x4000px and no matter what rendering settings I make, the process is stopped at 50% each time, the remaining time is suddenly 0:01 instead of 2:45 and saving the current progress (screenshot) is not possible.There is no error message, because rendering just stops and the software freezes. I have to close it with the task manager and restart again. Cloud rendering is also not possible, because I have the following message "Error when retrieving credits" and I have never rendered a cloud file before. But I am logged in and the Creative Cloud App is running fine.

Can someone please explain why we can not download and install Adobe dimensions on a windows 7 pro machine. I understand Adobe has chosen not to support it on windows 7 only windows 10 ( which in my opinion is a huge mistake ) but we should still have the choice to be able to download it and install it.Look forward to an answer.ThanksAlex

Hi there,I am attempting to open Dimension, and it tends to just hang after the loading screen is gone and just hangs out in the bottom tray, not opening.My computer specs below:Intel i5-8400 @2.8 Ghz16 gigs of ramG Force GTX 1060 - 3 gb of video ramVmem - 49.9 GBAvailable Vmem- 29.9 GBI have tried a proper uninstall and reinstall to no luck.I have ran Dimension in the past on the PC with no problem.Thanks for any help

I've updated Dimension today and the material "damaged metal/steel" (didn't know the exact name) is gone! It's my most used standard material, as i used it for screws and machined steel parts. What happened here?

I have been trying to learn dimension. I loaded a dodecahedron .obj file put a different texture on each face of it. Put in a background of the Texas capitol building. This is what it showed in dimension before rendering:That is what I was expecting it to look like after rendering it to a .png No such luck with that!I set the render to high, then rendered it. It took 9 minutes and 20 seconds to render with all 8 cores pegged out 100% on a Ryzen 2700X. 16GB of memory, with only 7.9 GB of memory being utilized.  Raised the temp on it too, to 81C... The GTX 1070 with 8GB of memory was hardly utilized, from 2 to 4% occasionally spiking to 14%. And after all that time waiting for it to render, this is what I got:Not hardly what I was expecting. Doesn't look anything like the one in the screenshot above. And to think I waited 9 minutes and 20 seconds for that blurry blob to render... I built a simple box OBJ in photoshop. Just a simple extrusion. I'd like to place images on each side of the box. I'm ok with placing these by separately by hand since they will be the correct ratio. Right now importing a demo decal to test the model and it's showing up across all sides in a strange way. Any tips to prevent this from happening would be helpful. I have not looked at dimensions for many years. In the past I was able to rotate and extrude forms to make original objects. Is this capability still available, and if so how do I access this?

Hi everyone,I created a simple 3d shape in Blender with text engraved into it (using the boolean modifier). When I import the obj file into dimension, the preview doesn't show the engraved text. I thought If I tried to render it, the engraved text might show, but it renders extruded instead of engraved. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi everyone,I am kind of a noob to developing creative applications here. I was wondering, when you need to increase your GPU for 3D applications and other high-level apps, will you need to accommodate the increased GPU by having increased/faster storage capability?I was thinking with the increased GPU, you would need something like NVMe storage / NVMe RAID storage cards that have a high transfer rate and big bandwidth to accommodate these applications.I would appreciate any insight... thank you!

Hi all. I have a question about the scale tool – is the widget supposed to align to the scene in the same way it does for the move tool and the rotate tool?Mine stays stuck in position and won't allow me to scale an imported object to specific sizes.I created some 3D type in Illustrator and imported it, but it comes into Dimension on a funny angle. I can manually rotate it to fit, and the move and rotate tools will both change to align to the scene, but the scale tool stays aligned to the object only, meaning I can't give it specific X, Y, Z sizes.Is it supposed to do this?As an example:

I hit an odd loading bug today ... this screen should only show on the first ever boot of Dimension which for me was a while back and I refuse to watch the bs vid but thats another storywhen i bypassed the screen by opening an old Dn file it failed to load... just locking up forever and I had to goto the task bar and give it the 3 fingersthen when I rebooted Dimension it did load but poped its resource screen, saying my system didn't have good ram... sure enough Microsoft Teams was hiding in the task bar sucking up all the ram and killing this spy bot allows me to work Dimension againjust fyi for others having issues on min spec systems... Microsoft teams is legial spyware which installs itself (without notice) on systems running Office and it can be a pain because it sucks upto 3rd of your system ram and needs a powershell script (which Microsoft gives you for free) to stop it reinstalling correct

Hi all, quick question about decal fillingSo i have a plane thats 14mm by 16 mm.I want to fill that plane with an image that is also 14mm by 16mm.When i place the decal the image loses its proportions and becomes distorted. Now i have to manually put it back in the correct proportion.If i use the fill instead of decal function it gets even worse when the whole thing just stretched way beyond the full plane.Any one knows how to easily fill 1 plane?Thank youMessage was edited by: Sahil Chawla

In our production workflow here at work, we want to be able to move .obj files from Autocad Inventor to Adobe Dimension and vice versa.  However, when I export an .obj file from Dn 2.3, it creates an unrecognizable, and unusable version of the Dn file.This is the case regardless of whether I export a scene, or selected models. Even a very simple file. Same result.As an example, here is a screenshot of a simple scene, comprised of 4 cubes:Here is a screenshot of that scene, exported as an obj:And here is the .obj, imported into the original Dn file. Hi all,I would like to put a seamless artwork (360° printed) on an object (tube) but for some reason no matter what object I use, there is stil a small "unprinted" part on the surface. I have a photo of a jar already and I want to create the label to add to it. I can't find a way to hide the object in Dimension and only show the label. Is this possible?

Hello everyone!I am faceing a srange mistake when rendering my image (please see image attached). I have had this problem on 5 or 6 different projects. The mistake occurs when i am using PSD-Output (16bit) medium with medium quality.PC: Win 10; 16 GB Ram; AMD FX-8320; Nvidia GeForce GTX 970.Has anyone an idea? Or do you need more information?Zypri

I understand how you can match a background to a 3D file to make a rendering but man, is it a hassle for the purpose I use it for! I just realised that in my line of work I basically have to do the exact opposite: I render solar panel fields in their landscapes. The context is the important part and the 3D render has to fit within that context. The navigation tools don't make any sense for example as (accidental) scolling messes up the positioning of my 3D object in relation to the background. There's one simple fix that I probably just overlooked: locking the grid once it's matched to the background. Is there a way to do that in Dimension? 

I cannot see a preview image of my dimension project when I open finder in mac. This can be a long and confusing process to open the correct folder when I can only see a long list of dimension icons when I open finder. I wonder if anyone can help me with this one please? Many thanks in advance.

I don' understand the render process image of Dimension.I define my artwork with 7913px x 11457px (the dimension of a poster with 67cm x 97cm by 300dpi) as you can check it on images below:When I render the image it gives me a different size rendered image:How to correct this problem? Anyone?
