Questions

"Auto push on save" is very convenient. But there are types of files that DW does not deal with. I would like to do (1) edit some files using other software (2) save the file to the directory that DW works (3) DW runs auto push. Is it possible? 

When downloading php files from 1 pearticular website the pages were renamed like this: 湡晳牥敲d汬睯摥.ssindinner-menu.php The actual file name is dinner-menu.php Any help is appreciated.

I need some help at the point of inserting the navbar, after inserting the navbar only navbar can be seen in dreamweaver but when I preview the site I can see the other element i.e home, link, dropdown disable and the search that are not showing in dw, what is the solution?  

Hi all,  I have read the forums and searched the depths of the internet to find out why the dropdown on my NavBar is not working. I'm very new to Dreamweaver and previously had the dropdown menu working, but now I cannot click the dropdown and see the options. I've attached some screenshots to show what I am working with here. Really struggling to override the nasty blue colour that outlook defaults to when having hand-coded HTML emails to send out via outlook. How do you guys override it? I have this, but it's not working: <a href="123@abc.com"><span style=3D"color: #0A802B">123@abc.com</span></a> Note the 3D in there which I have taken from an email received in outlook that has got the override in place and working. I've tried it without 3D too. My CSS in the header also stipulates a colour of #0A802B for text-based hyper links

Hi Everyone,   Suddenly, on Januany 22, 2021, after uploading several Dreamweaver  files to my hosting company,  I got and FTP error report, and I could no longer upload files.  Guessing that the problems was with the hosting company, I've been working with them for the past two days.  Based on the large number of files and logs that I forwrded, they ran numerous checks and test and came to the conclusion that the problem must be with Dreamweaver.   My questions: Is anyone else having new FTP problems with Dreamweaver?  If "yes", what are you doing to resolve them?   Also, last week, as an Adobe CC member, I was not able to get through to Dreamweaver Support, while Adobe other programs were accepting calls.  Does anyone know anything about that?   [Personal information removed by moderator as per forum guidelines.]  

XML parsing fatal error: Invalid document structure, line: 1, file: C:\User\Tyler\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS5\en_US\Configureation\Workspace\Classic.xmlI have gone through older disscussion forums and have followed the steps recommended by deleting the corrupted .xml file itself (in this case "Classic.xml") but imidiatly after when i try to open Dreamweaver again, i am prompted with the same fatal error message including the file that i have just deleted. Next i deleted the entire configure file and this did not help either.It is also odd that when i follow the path to find the corrupted .xml file from the prompt, the path is different in that i do not find the "Classic.xml" file through th "en_US\Configuration\Weorkspace" navigation, however i do find the corrupt "Classic.xml" file in the "configure" folder of the "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5" file. Im not sure what to do now and i would really like Dreamweaver back up and running so please help if you can!!!Thanks-Tyler

I use MAMP to provide a local server to test php code on a web site.  This has worked fine up until I upgraded to Dreamweaver 2021.  Now, I can not get .php files to diplay.  Even a test file with the '.php' name and only html code will not display.I use MAMP 5 (and 6) on an iMac running Mojave (10.14.6).I have tested my site in Dreamweaver 2019, 2020 and 2021.  It works fine with 2019 and 2020 but will not display any php code in 2021.Is there a configuration that I need to change? Or, something else?Thanks.

On a previous post I was recommended by your good selves to stop using an old Perl script and use instead phpmailer.  This I have now implemented BUT… After my contact form has been completed and submitted I want the thank you page to be displayed. Although the email is sent successfully the thank you page is not displayed.  I got the code off the Internet and I do largely understand how it works:  the contact_form.php displays the form and when Submit is clicked it uses action=”send.php” to load the send.php page The send.php page collects the form data and uses phpmailer to send the email, which it does successfully.  But it does not then display the thankyou.php page Hopefully the gurus on this forum will spot the error I have made super-fast, such is my confidence in your talents!  My contact form is at http://dave.higgsy.com/form/contact_form.php Many thanks in advancedavid

if you go to my website and click Higgs in the top navigation, you will see there are two links to Higgs Sam. One is a .php version and the other is HTML Why does the PHP version show up in Google/ Analytics at Real-time/Overview (screenshot below) but the HTML version does not?  The Analytics code in the pages is identical and HTML suffix is the only difference between the pages (although the PHP version does have some Include statements)

Hi, A long time ago I made a site and a template. Now I want to make a change on a few pages but they are locked by the template.  I can not figure out (or forgot) how to edit the template  -  so I made a copy of the template which I could edit and renamed it back to the original name.  Now I want to make template changes occur on all the child pages  - how??   Yours Erikrn Denmark   [Edited by moderator for clarity.]

I'm coming back to work on a site I built about 15 years ago using PHP and the database behaviors.  I gather those are no longer part of DW.   What is the current advice for how to update them, as what I had no longer works.

I have a list of items and I'd like to have additional information about each appear when cursoring over it.  I've looked in the css manual about the visible/invisible properties, searched the Dreamweaver & php manuals, and just can't get it right.  If someone would help me get started I would be very grateful.  I create some text with a class with visibility hidden and one with visibility visible, but don't know how to get that attached to the item.  In fact I'm muddled about the whole process.  What I read seems to suggest I need to use absolute positioning, and the hidden text leaves a blank space on the page, which is not what I'd like.  I know I've seen pages that have photos & when you mouse over a box appears to the side with information about the photo.  I'm not using a photo, just a list item.  I've done the hover to interchange 2 images the same size, but that's not what I'm trying to do here. Maybe this is something t
