A file like "error_log" is often found on a server where php is used and there is no way to open it by clicking on it.Since it does not have an extension, there is no way to add it under file types.This has been an issue forever and was never implemented or fixed. I am using version 21.1

The current version of dreamweaver (and many other apps) is incompatable with my system. Are there older versions available to download on the creative cloud desktop app?

I just transferred my old Dreamweaver site (CS3) over to Dreamweaver 2021.All seems working pretty well as I'm getting used to the new version.. however, one issue:For uploading files to my server… When I Command-click a file and choose "Put" in the dropdown menu, it tells me that it has uploaded successfully, but it actually does not upload or overwrite the older file already on the server. As a test, I also have manually deleted the older file on the server, and it still won't upload the new file. And here's what's peculair: With the local and remote servers in side-by-side, I can do a drag-and-drop of the file over to the remote server, and it works! So this is telling me that the connection is established - - or, I would think so. Any advice, thanks much!Brian

I'm having trouble inserting bootstrap components such as carousel in Dreamweaver, I'm receiving a notification that claims "While executing objectTag inresponsiveCarousel.htm, a Javascript error occurred." I have tried using a new template and file to see if the issue is consistant, which it did remain and obtain the same error. I have tried locating the trouble shoot, however the output reads, "Cannot lint the code. Click here for troubleshooting", which nothing happene. 

I want to add the code to make the button in yellow functional. Very odd. As some people have mentioned, it's not showing on some of Adobe's CC pages, but it does show up on others.   However, the big change is it's no longer available in the Creative Cloud management app. There is no Web category and under UI/UX there is just XD.   You can still get it by going to the website and logging in. It should show a Download icon (instead of Buy) and clicking this will initiate an install via the CC app. But I wonder why it's removed from the CC app in the first place as if they don't want the average user to even know about it.   Website design software | Adobe Dreamweaver

Hello, I've come across something odd with my Dreamweaver, which I have never encountered before. I was adding code and discovered I can't type a <.  I can type the end bracket, however > and I can copy and paste it, so getting by. Has anyone else encountered this, and how do I fix it. It is def slowing me down. Thank you.

Hi. It should be really simple. In previous version of DW, I was able to simply highlight the text in Design mode and use properties to edit colour, font, font size etc. I do not see the properties box now and have been navigating around the menu but can't find anything. Every time I open a page that has a video link or embedded video the workspace locks up. I have to 'force quit' and restart the program. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, and even downloaded the remote site files, but it still freezes up. Any idea why? I can't even access the code to delete the video. Thanks.

This question gets asked a lot lately so I thought I would put together a solution for anyone who is interested.  Incidentally, it works the same for light or dark based code color themes. Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to Dreamweaver, so be gentle with the tech talk! 🙂 🙂  This is my 'play site', that I'm using to get a template right before starting the new site. http://www.karinac.sg-host.com/artistlookup/artist2.html I want to design a site specifically for mobile. So would like to test different font sizes. I increased the paragraph font size to 1.3EM (about 20px) - so big. It is changed in the css file - and inside dreamweaver, the increased typeface is reflected on the page. I have an issue with an OAM animation I created in Adobe Animate CC and placed on a web page using Dreamweaver and html5. The animation scales very nicely between lg-xs screens but as the screen size dips below 1200 wide (lg to md) you see the gap betweeb the animation <object> and the next element grow substantially larger. You can simulate this easily in Dreqmweaver using live mode and scaling the page size. The web page looks great on my PC full screen but on the android phone the gap between these elements is half the screen. I have seen a few writings about this issue on other media sites but none with clear answers.

I'm having the same or similar issue. We also have site root relative paths set but when I followed your directions above, the setting was already set to Document.  I had this code which worked fine: background:transparent url(_images/globalNavGradient.png) repeat-x; I wanted to change it to a new image, so I copied what had worked above with the new image name: background:transparent url(_images/globalNav.png) repeat-x; I can see the globalNav.png in my _images folder, but when I add it to my code - in every way I can think of - it still shows that the image doesn't exist. I've tried with quotes, without quotes, with leading slash, without leading slash. I've tried just using the background-image property instead of the shortcut. Nothing makes a difference. I can go down the list of images in my _images folder. SOME of them, I can add and DW will recognize them, but others - that I can see are there - DW doesn't recognize them. Also, even the ones DW

I'm just new to Dreamweaver. It would help to have a list of what each syntax color identifies. For example, it looks all the html tags are blue. What does the green, orange, white, purple and gray identify? thank you.

Does "Apply Source Formatting To Selection" option work for anyone? I have never been anble to get theis to work, "Apply Source Formatting" works fine.   I'm "selecting" the code I want to format and then clicking "Apply Source Formatting To Selection" but nothing happens, am I doing something wrong?   Thanks   David

I have the following HTML sourcecode:   <img src="example.jpg" width="400" height="600" alt="" />    The image is rendered correctly in the design view.Now I apply CSS to it:   img { width: 30em; height: auto; }     Result:The value "30em" is rendered correctly, the value "auto" is ignored.The rendered height of the picture is 600px.How can I solve the task please?In a browser the CSS works. Thank you.

Thanks in advance for any assistance! I am new to DW and am encountering an issue uploading a .htm file created from an Excel sheet to my office's web page.  The functional old method: information was saved as a Word doc, re-saved as a .htm file that overwrote the previous day's .htm file, and then drag and dropped into WinSCP over the .htm file that feeds our web page. Word documents continue to transfer to .htm, to the remote server, and onto the web page as anticipated, regardless of what the Word doc contains. The non-funtional new method: the entry of the same data now requires an Excel spreadsheet. I can resave the Excel sheet as the same .htm file, and prior to uploading, I can get the Excel web page to open on its own in Explorer as desired. When I drag and drop the same .htm file over to the WinSCP server (?), it indicates that the file has indeed been replaced. However, unlike the Word doc that then spits the text to our web page, the replaced Excel file o

Dear DW Technical Support:(1) I've been having recent problems with my long-ago purchased and installed DW CS6 app and would like to know if I were to reisntall it using my copy of "Dreamweaver_12_LS16" would it preserve all my links, codes and presets or simply erase them?  (2) Also DW CS6 app has recently been generating error messages relating to Adobe's discontinued Flash support (see attachment). Are there any files that I shoud delete now that Flash is inopertive? BTW because I am running DW CS6, my computer I have  to run on macOS Mojave version 10.14.6 as the current DW version is too costly for my budget.  So thank you for your help in keep my website alive (with DW CS6) -online at same URL since 1997. Cheers,BironPhotos by BIRON 

Hello Community, i just startet to learn html with css and my dreamweaver is very slow.I use local files and very simple pages.But Dreamweaver is so laggy, it takes 1-2 sec. to type different codes.All other programs runs normal. Bought the comment script by adrianTNT as a dreamweaver extention. Download the zipfile but what zipfile?Please advice Anton
