Questions

At my age I have no interest in learning to code; I have in the past created web pages in FrontPage 2003, in Design View.  The web pages always seemed to work fine; the only problem was when my hosting site stopped using FrontPage Extensions.  My questions are, what is the last version of Dreamweaver that allowed creation of web pages in Design View, and like FrontPage does Dreamweaver require anything like FrontPage Extensions?  I appreciate all replies and would thank you in advance.John  

I like my local files to be in the left panel and my remote files to be in the right panel. I just need to know how to swap the screen view between local files and remote server. This question was posed previously, but was never answered properly.Thanks/pjs

if you view the below contact  form in the console of Chrome Developer tools, after my diagnostic message "V050 add submit form event" is output, we see the error "form.addEvent is not a function".The console shows this error is coming from my validation.js file at line 44.As I understand it, the element name form links to the html form tag in contact5.php using the id comments_form and this is linked into the validation.js file by the statement at line 4: var form = $('comments_form');so it all seems to link together ok and addEvent is a valid mootools method.  I know I got this code off the web sometime ago and there's likely other ways to achieve the validation of the form but it's become a puzzle I just must solve and would hate to leave it without working out what's wrong!  Any help would be appreciatedhttp://ancestry.higgsy.co.uk/contact5.php

I have an index page with a banner containing 6 images.   Five images across the top are logos, while the 6th image is some text which is the name of the company.After doing some modifications to another part of  the site which involved a minor edit to the css file needed to make that page work properly, now the home page doesn't work properly.   Actually it works fine online, shows no problems, but viewing it in Dreamweaver in either Live or Design view, this larger image which is the company name displays in the middle of the page as a larger than normal image overlaying the code.   I have gone through the css and the html and cannot find what is wrong.I have a limitation, cannot post this for public consumption, need to be able to send the html file and the css file to someone in Adobe Support for an opinion.   I need to edit the home page but am reluctant to upload a faulty file which I cannot fix.  Oh - the larger (problem) image i

Hi all,I am having a heck of a time getting a redirect to work and even knowing what type of redirect I should be using. I just bought an SSL certificate that requires a redirect. My hosting provider said to use a .htaccess redirect. The server I am using is Unix. The website is coded in html. I am trying to go from annpoulson.com to https://annpoulson.com. I have tried several code and none have worked. I'm not sure if I should be using a 301 or 302 redirect and what the correct code is...The current code in the .htaccess files says:RewriteEngine OnRewriteCond %{HTTPS} offRewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://annpoulson.com/$1 [R=301,L]But the website says to many redirects when I try to load it in Chrome"This page isn’t workingannpoulson.com redirected you too many times.Try clearing your cookies.ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTSI have tried clearing cookies etc. and same error. I am SO angry and disgusted by your swindling tactics....I have just bought another of your "Classroom in a book" tutorial manuals...This on Dreamweaver CC 2019 release.It is TOTAL RUBBISH....There is not ONE tutorial based on the 2019 release.I have also the 2014 release tutorial book... (5 YEARS older)That book actually has MORE help and information and tutorials than this "NEW" edition.You have swindled me. Hi,Designer posing as a coder here. A few months back, I was looking for a bare-bones lightbox script to zoom into various items in a gallery. Nancy OShea​ recommended a list of mobile-responsive solutions, and I'm finally getting around to installing one of them, which I'd bookmarked as my favorite; LightGallery​.It's available in .js or jQuery flavors (as redundant as that sounds to my inexperienced ears) so I went with the latter, assuming jQuery adds enhancements of some sort. On the surface, this thing looks like it can do anything. Very modular, more than I need. So for a first run, I kept it simple by linking to lightgallery.css and lightgallery-all.js (rather than individual .js modules, also offered).And it appears to work as advertised right out of the box : swipes, animations, all there.The hard part (for me, as a designer) will be the customizing, as I feel the documentation was written for regular Github-level coders who can fill in most blanks. Hi!I have a problem which looks like this:50+ errors found in JavaScript.But these are actually not errors, because I'm defining the TweenMax class in the other .js file before loading the current script.The question #1 is: how to get Dreamweaver know that I'm actually defining the variable?If it is not possible, then question #2: how to exlude, set to ignore or hide these specific errors from the panel?I'm using Dreamweaver v18.0Thanks in advance!

I want to start a completely new website going to a site I have.  There are currently a lot of file in both local and remote file areas.  I know what to do with the local files; I can just redirect the path to where the files are.  But what about those same files that are in the remote server.  Is there a way just to delete them all?

We have seen many discussions that Dreamweaver does not have a WYSIWYG capability for designers to create a website in the same manner as Muse. Without going into the pros and cons of Muse, the general idea of designers being able to produce a website without coding has had its limitations. I have created two games in Unity that I would like to use in my Dreamweaver website.  First, I'm using a zip folder for the player to "click" on a link to download the files for the games.  There are two separate html pages for each of the game files.  The first one is working just fine.  The second one is not working.  The code and css are identical.  Everything is identical except for the zip files.  This is the code I'm using: <a href="TheHouse.zip" download>Download "TheHouse" game files here</a>When I then go the the live version of the page and click on the "download The House game files here", it simply says "Failed-no file." where the little zip icon is at the bottom left of the screen where the downloads show up. I have tried everything I can think of and have worked on this all day, with no success.  The first game is 500MB the one that isn't working is about 1GB total.  I'm happy to provide any additional information

Hi there,I haven't designed a web site using Dreamweaver for at least ten years. What I want to do is so simple, but I can't find a template for it. I just want to build a web site with a JPEG in the background that will look proportional on mobile devices and desktops. No text, no links—nothing except the image. Can anyone point me to a simple template that will accomplish that? Thank you!

After reinstalling Dreamweaver cs 5.5 on a fresh version of Windows 10 64-bit,  existing pages created with a template do not display "this document only" styles in the "css styles" panel.  The linked style sheet is present.  New "this document only" styles are placed at the beginning of the document  (line 1) and show in the css panel. How can the issue be fixed to show existing "this document only" styles and add new ones to the correct place in the page?

For some unknown reason, my template has begun to show a </a> tag in yellow after a link and I've not changed the code in ages. The screenshot show what I'm referring to. I can delete the tag, add the link back but the tag keeps reappearing and I've no idea how to fix it. If I leave it alone and check to see what the page looks like in Safari, the link works fine but is not underlined.Any help will be appreciated.ThanksAlan
