How would four users save files for Cloud Storage of hundreds of INDD Files and images?

Question

We currently sync hundreds of files across four desktops so we can all work on INDD and image files as needed and back each other up when one person is out. Sync is going away?

What is the set-up and workflow for a team doing brochure and document design in INDD with a thousand photos in our archives we need to access to place in the INDD files?

Can't believe there's no guidance from Adobe on team workflows for shared documents and server. Must be so common for teams to be able to save to a central server where we can all access it.

Scheduled an expert session. Had to laugh the Adobe Support website says they're happy to schedule a 60 minutes Expert Session with the account admin, but when you get to Calendly to book it, it's only a 30 minute session. I just know it will be a rep trying to upsell us, I think I've been through this before with Adobe Admin support reps.

Hi @alecm46455839 first - to be clear Sync is changing to something new, not going away permanently. However it doesnt help users like yourself with integrated workflows.

My personal experience with the Expert session is the first 30 minute session is investigative Q&A with a support engineer. My account manager has never been a part of those - its strictly support. After the 30 min session a follow up may be scheduled if more time is needed for in-depth assistance.

A centralized server is common for most companies collaborating, but there are issues as with any solution with Mac/Win server compatibility, read/write permissions, "stepping on toes" when trying to access the same doc, etc.

My best advice even if Sync wasn't going away is to look into a DAM system to manage your documents (not Adobe Experience Mgr). A DAM system allows your users to collaborate and share seamlessly without the issue of RW permissions, overwriting same files, etc.

you'll need to find a sync provider that meets your needs.  ie, google what you need.
