Downloaded the trial to see if previous version issues have been fixed that stopped us upgrading from 2019. The installer gets to 70-90% then throws up this generic 183 error. I've 'unblocked' the zip file before extracting the installer contents.Running windows 10 currently, and have the latest .net framework installed.Does anyone have any pointers/solutions?

Hi,I have a book that contains 7 chapters, and only one chapter in the TOC has working links for the heading and sub headings. I have tried different ways to make the content in the remaining six chapters clickable, but nothing has worked. I have tried to insert cross references and hyperlinks but they haven't worked. I have tried to determine how the one chapter in the book is different from the rest WRT the TOC, but don't see any differences. I really don't know what else to try.  Any help or tips would be great. Thank you.Cheers,Elizabeth     

I recently installed FrameMaker 2022. When I noticed that it did not replace the pre-existing FM 2020 installation, I uninstalled FM 2020. The next time I tried to open a FM book, FM would not open. A Windows message "Registry information is invalid or missing" appeared. I had to re-install FM 2022.

I just started working with FrameMaker 2022, and I could not get any information to appear in panels such as Object Properties.Until I resized the FM window on another  display with a different resolution and scaling. Apparently, FM 2022 does not like 1920x1080 at 150% scaling.

Hi,I am in the process of trying to resolve cross references in a FM 2020 TOC in a PDF. When I display the cross references in the chapters identified, there are no unresolved ones displayed. When I click the unresolved cross reference entry in the error log, the corresponding chapter opens. I discovered that there is conditional text applied to the entries that are appearing as unresolved cross references. How do I fix the conditional text issue, and how do I get the links in the TOC to work? Thank you for any help.Cheers,Elizabeth 

FrameMaker 2022: Send for Review function fails to distill PDF, but the regular method (saving a .ps file and using distiller) works fine. Anyone know what setting I'm missing, or what the solution may be? We will be moving from FrameMaker 2017 to 2022, and I am evaluating the features for my team. I would love for this to work, because we already use shared reviews in the Adobe Cloud.

A co-worker has encountered an issue with opening FrameMaker 11. He is receiving the following 'Access Denied'  message. He has not experienced this issue in the past. Any idea why this is occurring and how to fix it?:

When I export a book to epub using Publish, the epub file will always come out with the TOC at the very end of the file rather than after the front matter where it sits in the FM book file. I can't figure out why. It seems like a bug somehow. Can it be fixed I wonder? Anybody here who can answer?

We have several users running Framemaker 2015.  Files with no graphics will load quickly.  Any time the file contains graphics, it will load very slowly at the page that contains graphics.  It happens whether the file is local or on a server.  Are there any best practices to speed up the loading of a file?  Should the graphics be converted to a certain type of file?  We are currently using jpgsThanks

Hi,I am trying to remove empty space that exists between a graphic banner and a Chapter Title. When I click in the blank area, the space and the Chapter Number Heading turns black, and Not Applicable appears in the display. Kind of like the R with a circle like the Registered Trademark, but with a W instead of R.Or do I have to create that as a graphic to have it stay in line with surrounding text?

I am hoping someone else has seen this problem and found the solution for it. I am creating large documents using a custom schema. I now have to add a cross-reference to it. It all works fine while I am opening and editing files in FrameMaker. But when writing the valid file to XML, the writer does not generate a close tag for the <xref> element, which makes the XML invalid. I am hoping there is a simple switch somewhere in FrameMaker's many settings, or an instruction I need to add to the read-write rules. Before trying to read through the many pages of the Structured Application guides, I thought it might be useful to post my question here. Hallo,wenn ich eine FramMaker Datei aus dem lokalen Dropbox-Ordner öffne, dann kann ich in FrameMaker weder Speichern noch Speichern unter anklicken. Beim Schließen der Datei werde ich gefragt, ob ich speichern will. Es speichert dann wieder in Dropbox. Ich kann die Datei aber nicht auf einem anderen Ordner auf dem PC speichern. Das ging bisher ohne Probleme.Ich arbeite auf meinem PC in Italien und ein Kollege arbeitet auf meinem PC in Deutschland. Wir haben beim Synchronisieren mit Dropbox Probleme. Einmal funktioniert es und dann wieder nicht.Wer kann helfen???

At work I have been thrown into the role of becoming the Framemaker expert. I'm familiar with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, but brand new with FM and trying to figure it out. (I'm using version 16.0.4.1062.) We have many documents that need to be updated that were formatted by my predecessor. They all have, at the top of page 1, a text frame with title information. At the bottom is a text frame containing the document text that flows to the following pages. I need to first export them as .rtf files so that others can open them in MS Word and redline the changes. This is working fine. However, several of the .rtf files have the title information at the very end of the document instead of at the beginning. In Framemaker, those documents display correctly with the title at the top of page 1. But when I look at the Navigation View, the title is at the end of the list instead of the beginning. So I believe this is why the .rtf document isn't correct. Is there a way I c

Hi, all. There are times where I would like to set the dimensions and position of frames manually (x, y), as can be done with objects. However, I can find no way to do this (with text frames, for example). How do people apply/create specific layouts without being able to set (and view) frame position to specific requirements? What am I missing? Thanks, in advance; I appreciate the help!

When 2022 was released, I complained that the colors of the icons are all the same. Book and fm files are indistinguishable from one another.  Adobe promised this would be fixed in the first update. But now I have the first update and it is  not fixed. Or is it? Is this what it looks like for everybody else or is it just my install?    

Hi, In FM2022, I'm trying to retrieve via a script the text of all XRef of a document. The problem is, the content is an autonumbering ($paranum) and, for every note, the property XRefSrcText contains only the Unique ID (no ":" inside, as supposed, so no source file, and no content text). I can access the source file via the property XRefFile, but not the text (even via the method GetText(), but I'm not sure I understand this one correctly). By the way, all the references are resolved and displaying the right number in FM. I know that it is not supposed to be done, since it's a number generated by Framemaker, but my client wants it writen in the XML export as it is in the PDF export...   Thanks in advance for any help ! I need to proofread FrameMaker files for a book translation. I have version 7.2 and I want to install it on my Mac Book Pro (M1). First I downloaded Parallels Desktop and tried to install FrameMaker. We recently had to update our FrameMaker generated user guide (over 500 pages, 100s of graphics) and updated to a newer version of FrameMaker to do so (FM 2017 release). Now, we are finally at the point where we need to publish the PDF. And have run across a number of issues. 1. Save as PDF fails. Always. It spins for minutes on end, then FM crashes, leaving all .fm files locked. Sometimes a .tps file is created.2. Print Book has had issues as well. There are a number of settings that MUST be set before this (sort of) succeeds. Print Book and Print to File as .ps file fails to generate the .ps file IF the destination is on a mapped drive. I don't know if this is possiable but her we go.I have a manual that ahs been updated many times. Soome of the documents in the manual are years old and there are several versions. I want to export/copy the list of documents and put them in Excel to sort and then clear some of these files.Does anyone know how to copy this list and put it in an excel file?
