Can't re position a cropped image illustrator

I think newly-added Crop is a great feature to AI, however it seems a bit limiting. Once I've cropped an image and selected "Apply", I'd like the ability to go back and further adjust the crop if needed. You'd think it would be similar coding to PS and ID. While I think they're hearts are in the right place, I don't think the tool was totally thought out. At this point I have more control simply using the old clipping mask method. Anyone else have this issue or want more from this new feature?

Directly to the left of the button "Clip" in the control panel there is a button named "Mask" or "Clip" (I have a German version, so can't tell for sure). Just click on it and then drag the handles. You don't need to first draw a rectangle.

You want it similar to InDesign? Use a clipping mask.

Yeah or even Photoshop (not deleting the cropped pixels). I just figured for simple (square/rectangular-shaped) cropping, this tool could save a step of having the create path, select them both, then set to clipping mask. I just figured you be able to go back and adjust it later for a different layout or a revision from a customer. On the back-end this'll add WAY more work if you use the crop tool and have to redo it.
