Color Code Error

"A different color with the same name already exists in your document. Please rename this color to use it in this document"

I have tried everything to get rid of this error message but it WILL not go away.

My goal was to create a new library to share with my team with all our clients color swatches for faster use (pantone/CMYK/RGB) but everytime I change the color of an object or click on the swatch this error message pops up. I created these swatches by opening a shared (saved) AI document fromt he client with the desired color palette  > opened swatches > added selected swatches and color group to my current library.

I tried renaming all the swatches. I tried deleting the names completely.I have tried only using one primary color profile and still error message. I tried saving the swatch type or color palette to my app data. I have tried changing the color profile and synching my creative cloud color settings in Bridge.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your reply! I tried eveyrthing from that post and still doesnt fix it. I've used libraries before like this and it works and they still work. For some reason when I create a new library it doesnt. Not sure if I am loading the swatches correctly? But I've also tried manually adding the swatches in with a differnent name. Still nothing. Want to save time from hovering over a color swatch to see what name it is and just selecting it from a library.

It's an uneccessary error message.

Hello @ericas61977214,

Sorry to hear that the suggestions did not help. Would you mind sharing some more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, a sample file (https://adobe.ly/47Z1UHQ), and a screen recording of the problem (https://adobe.ly/3v8js5L), so we can investigate this further?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
