Hello,

A client has asked me to investigate how to create a network map data visualization similar to the one below:

Anyone know what tool was used to create this or know of something similar?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

you could trace an abstract image in illustrator -- but you won't be able to generate something from data like this in Illustrator

I'd recommend Processing.org and learning how to code so you can make your data visible/look a certain way

Gephi is a good open source software for creating network diagrams without any knowledge of coding...

was about to tell you to learn to code... do something like processing or something (so everything is dynamic vs some traced static chart you found online)

if I google image search your stuff... kinda says the same...

Unfortunately data in illustrator is more for like changing names on business cards and maybe making some basic charts... nothing as elegant as what you have posted here.  Though it might be fun to trace this kinda stuff and play around... I would recommend learning to program or paying someone to make this for you and just control data sources/fonts and colors on your end.

You can do Javascript in illustrator with the adobe extend script toolkit.. but again you might just want make outside of adobe stuff with code/the libraries that made those images you reference.

here's the stuff you are wanting it seems

If it is feasible to spend the time manually draing these graphs, it is certainly possible, though difficult and time-consuming. If you want them to be linked to actual data, it is not.

You can do this with Illustrator. But not data driven or dynamic. Good luck.
