Whenever I am trying to recolor a screened artwork the screen amount increases, how can I prevent that?

Thanks

Thank you Ton,

So if I get an artwork already in CMYK Black, I am out of luck.

I would definitely use your methods for other artworks.

If I figure something out I will leave a post here.

Thanks

Something to add to my description of how to convert greyscale percentages: You need to have at least one 100K object selected, otherwise the darkest tint becomes 100%.

So:

For greyscale tints:

Select the grey tint objects and make sure to include at least one object filled with 100% K

Choose Recolor Artwork

Check the top grey color and select the Preserve Tints option for the New color

Select Preset > 1 color job > Click OK

Select the new global color from the color groups.

Click OK

You need to start off with a 100% Black fill, then go to your transparency panel and change the transparency of black to 25%.

Now if you go to recolor it, it should keep the tint value at 25% (so long as you select "preserve tints" in the Recolor artwork dialog).

Thank you Maganchi,

For some reason it does not work for me, could you please share a screen shot of your settings ?

Thanks

Thank you Ton,

Will that keep  the tint percentages exactly the same as the black one?

If so could you please show me which options yoou have selected to do that.

Thank you

Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.

I am still finding ot when it does and when it doesn't.

I'll come back to you later (if I haven't lost my mind :-)

There's an option box in the dialog box.

You need to set it to "Keep tints"
