Hello community,This bug is becoming the most frustrating thing that has ever happened to Illustrator for many many years.It's that simple, one on every two times I launch Illustrator the GPU preview is broken. I have updated Windows 11 Pro and updated both graphic cards on my laptop, and it keeps breaking and breaking... I even refreshed all my settings, and it keeps doing it. How come this lingers around for so many years?How come there is no warning or no workaround to prevent or fix this issue before it happens or knowing that it has happened?How come the CPU preview is still a thing?So many questions... still no answers nor solutions. System:Windows 11 Pro - Version 23H2 - OS build 22631.3447Graphic:NVIDIA RTX 3500 Ada Generation Laptop GPU 551.86 - up-to-dateIntel UHD Graphics - up-to-dateIf anyone knows what is happening... thanks!

Hello Adobe team, I’d like to suggest a feature that I believe would significantly improve the workflow for many users: the ability to select multiple handles (anchor point direction handles) and manipulate them simultaneously.Currently, it’s only possible to adjust handles one at a time, which makes fine-tuning more time-consuming and less precise — especially when working with similar curves across different points. A feature that allows users to select and move multiple handles at once — either proportionally or freely — would greatly enhance efficiency. This functionality would add even more power to the Direct Selection tool and give users greater control and speed when working with complex vector shapes.Thank you for considering this suggestion, and for the amazing work you continue to do with Illustrator!

Copy and PASTE dont work in Illustrator (newest v 29.4) (Win10). It is been so for quite a long time. In other applications it work.Restart App or computer or reseting Preferenses did not help.Any suggestions on how to make it work?

I am trying to replicate an effect present on a graphic element extracted from a PDF; I don't know if it is a gradient, a glow, a blur therefore I can't replicate the object in all its features.Surely an insider will understand at first glance what is present on the exterior in a shaded burgundy of the element depicted in the next image: Thanks to “edit PDF” I was able to extract all the different components of the element (via Acrobat Pro's context menu it gives me the option to edit the element using Illustrator). So I know that gradients have been applied but I don't know what kind they are and how they were obtained. Basically I have extracted burgundy filled rectangles with 30% opacity that have the geometric shape of the element inside them with very ill-defined/blurred white outlines. If they are superimposed on the geometric shape they generate the gradient I am tryin

Trying to scale a vector image in Illustrator using the usual "Selection Tool + Shift" to I can to how I need it to be and its not working. I know this was taken away in Photoshop, but did they do it in Illustrator too? I was using version 21.1.0.Please help! This is driving me crazy!Thanks,Margaret

I have this script that will do a word replace on all text in a document (changes all words to a single word you type in). Problem is, this script will run on all of my open documents instead of the currently active document. Could I get some help editing this please? I've tried idoc = app.Activedocument but it breaks it. I'm reposting this as a standalone post to make it easier for anyone to find and use.   A user asked in this thread about a keyboard shortcut to zoom to a selected object in Adobe Illustrator the way many 3D drawing tools can. Of course, Illustrator will zoom toward/away from a selected object using CMD/CTRL plus/minus, which is what I initially told the original poster. I learned that wasn't as convenient as the OP wanted, so I built the way they wanted.   Using my below script you can... zoom Illustrator's view port directly to any selected object,  whether that object is in view or not,  whether you're already zoomed to Fit to Artboard, 64,000%, or any other zoom level.   And, you can assign the function a keyboard shortcut to make it work as easily as CMD+0/CTRL+0.   Thanks to @RP_Schmidt for giving me an interesting challenge to solve, especially since JavaScript programming is decidedly not my forte.   -------------------------------

I create a lot of files that ultimately go to our plotter to be cut out of vinyl. I've found that adding some additional lines can help me weed out the negative space from the vinyl more quickly. In order for the files to cut properly, there can be no fill color, only the lines I want cut. See below:  Currently, I draw a line through my text and use the shape builder tool to manually remove the lines I don't want. They are all removed in the word "Sample" but I made them red in the word "Text". Is there a way to use the Pathfinder tool to more quickly achieve this look? Again, I can't simply fill the letters with white and put them above the line as the plotter will still read the line and cut it. I need to remove the line from the file in the indicated spaces.  While this is an easy solution for something like "Sample Text" I often have to do this for paragraphs of text and it can make for several tedious hours of work. 

  I'm not sure how to best explain what I'm asking, but i have a drawing similar to the image attached that has a lot of design inside a thick outline. I'm trying to remove everything inside the outline but can't seem to do so "cleanly". I tried to use the eraser but can't get a smooth line. I thought maybe I could remove all of the thinner lines but don't know if that's possible? There are so many paths and anchors that it's too tedious to delete them one at a time. I'm too new to AI and I feel that the answer must be easier than this. Please help, thank you!

Hi,  All of a sudden, about a month ago, i started getting an error message when trying to create a link to share.i get the error 'Couldn't create link. Try again later.' To get round it I have to quit illustrator and reopen my file. I cant just close 1 file, I have to close the app which is frustrating if I'm working with a few documents at a time. Is anyone else getting this? Is it a bug that needs fixed or do I have to do something? 

Illustrator became suddenly slow in basic actions, like activating an object, then trying to move it. I reinstalled the software, which helped for a moment, then back again to slowness.At the moment the software is unusably slow.

I have a collection of swatches in a document. I tried to delete several of them. Some of them turn transparent when you delete them and will not allow you to delete them at that point. I can't for the life of me figure out why. They are not in my document (I could delete EVERYTHING in the doc and they still refuse to delete). I have never encountered this before.Has anyone experienced this and found a fix that doesn't require me to start a new doc and copy everything over? I have a lot of artboards with multiple layers and do not want to have to re-sort art to the proper layer with a copy/paste to another document.I'm open to solutions that allow me to copy artboards with layers staying intact to a new doc if there isn't a better way to remove these rogue color swatches.Attaching a before and after image of the swatches I'm trying to remove.

hi, i am learning illustrator CS2 (i know, it's ancient), and am having truble with fitting type to a path.  yesterday, it was working just fine, but today the path has a red plus sign that wn't let me enter text.  i am trying to place the type on a circle.  i draw the circle, select it, and then switch to the type in a path tool.  i click the type tool in the selected circle, then set up the type on a path option.  then i try to type only a few letters, not nearly enough to surround the circle.  voila! nothing happens.i even opened a new page and tried it there, but again, nothing happened.  because this problem didn't happen yesterday, and my first attempt today was successful, i am totally perplexed.  i've googled this problem, but couldn't succeed in finding the answer.  plese help!

Hi all,I became a member of Adobe Creative Cloud a few days ago. Today I started working in Illustrator CC, but it really bothers me that everytime I save my doccument it crashes.Well, at least, it says that it crashes, but if I wait a couple of minutes it works again and it saved my procress.Also when I close the program and open it again, it already crashes before I have done anything.This is very anoying, and I wondered if I am the only one having this problem? I am working on a Windows 7 computer, and with Illustrator CS6 I didn't had this problem at all.

I am able to Save As and Adobe Illustrator file np. Everytime I try to Export As or Save As with a SVG file, I get the Unknown Error popup. And it won't let me attach the Adobe Illustrator file to post it here...

    I recently had to upgrade to a Samsung laptop with Windows 11 OS. Download went smoothly, or so I thought. The intro content was unrecognizably pixelated and now all elements and tool previews are as well. Attached are images of the error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, turned the smart tools on and off, and used task manager to end everything and opened app again same issue. Anybody else having this issue or have a solution?  

Dear Adobe,It's July 29th, and your communications about the Illustrator release for Microsoft Copilot+ PCs are as sparse as a Western ghost town at high noon. We're left squinting at the horizon, hoping to see the Illustrator stagecoach roll in, but all we hear is tumbleweeds.While software development can be as unpredictable as a quick-draw contest, a smoke signal or two wouldn't hurt. We're not asking for a daily telegraph, but some news would be mighty appreciated. As I saddle up for vacation, I can't help but wonder: will I return to find Illustrator finally in town, or will I need to mosey on over to Affinity's saloon if this radio silence persists?Looking forward to some news that isn't as elusive as a mirage in the desert heat!

All of my other shortkeys are working (ctrl+o, ctrl+s, ect), except the one I need in order to do all my work. Shirt+Ctrl+P. It only works when I manually click it in the File drop down menu, but when I try to do the shortcut it does nothing. I can uninstalled, reinstalled, tried different versions, restarted my computer, went into keyboard shortcuts (not the correct place tool I'm working with). I'm at a loss for what to do at this point after working at it for hours.  All help and advice is appreciated! Thank you,Jacky

No matter what I try this panel keeps opening. I don't even have it on the panel group. I also created a new workspace without it and it still opens!!!! It is so annoying.....

Hi, I'm trying to export my artboards in an AI file. Each artboard in the file is named (for example: icon1). When I use Export > Export for Screens and choose AI as the file type, I get a weird result with this file name: icon1_icon1.ai.In other words, it repeats the artboard name twice in the file name. Is there any way to avoid this from happening? The prefix option in the export dialogue box has been left blank, so it's not that either.Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bonjour, quand je vais que l'icone Mise à jour dans Creative Cloud, que je clique sur mettre à jour notamment Illustrator et Photoshop, le chargement commence puis s'annule et mes mises à jours disponibles passent dans mes mises à jour programmées. Même quand je décoche "mise à jour automatique" et que je relance mes mises à jour, elles s'annulent et passent en programmées automatiquement. Sauf que ça fait bien une semaine et les mises à jour ne sont toujours pas faites, je ne sais pas quand ni comment elle sont programmées. J'aimerai réussir à les mettre à jour quand je le veux. si quelqu'un peut m'aider puisque impossible de joindre qui que ce soit... merci beaucoup
