 Hi,I created this custom JSX script in Illustrator to export selected designs. Everything works fine, except for one issue: the design gets stretched instead of scaling properly and fills the artboard, rather than maintaining the design's original ratio and proportions.Here’s the part of the code that resizes the design:group.position = [docWidth/2 - (width/2), docHeight/2 + (height/2)]; group.resize((docWidth - 10) / width * 100, (docHeight - 10) / height * 100);Problem:This code changes the aspect ratio and stretches the design.I want the design to keep its original aspect ratio and be scaled proportionally, with about a 5px marginCan someone help me fix this part so the design doesn’t stretch?Thanks!

Hi community.I hope some one can help. I have created some very detailed illustrater designs, and sent them to be  laser engraved. When the engraver opens my illustrations in the EZCAD softwear, curved areas have become straight. Some areas of the design have straight lines across them instead of following the curved line of my drawing. The designes were hand drawn with a pen and tablet using the paint brush tool on illustrator, Out line strokes was selected with a colour but there was no infill colour selected as the designes were made up of lines and dots. They are verry intricate and detailed, but one colour.I followed advice on youtube in how to export them for engravibg. I.e- I exbanded the design, merged it, chose one colour and then united all the colours as one. This worked well and I was able to send the designs with no white back ground, just the lines.  But as I said, when these designes are opened in EZCAD softwear the curved line is becoming anguar and straight.

Hello! I am new to illustrator. I've designed a wedding invitation and I'm pretty confused about figuring out the best practices for converting my document from RGB to CYMK. Can anyone lend their advice? 1) I have been editing my invitation in RGB. I can convert the document color space to CYMK, and in addition, a YouTube tutorial said I had to select all of my objects/artwork in the document and Edit Colors > Convert to CYMK. When I do this, the resulting picture on my screen looks pretty washed out. Is this cause for concern? 2) Because I got spooked on the above method, I exported the Illustrator PDF in RGB then brought it into Photoshop. I imported the file as CYMK and when I exported the PDF I chose the option "Color Conversion: Convert to Destination" and selected "Destination: Working CMYK" (see photo). Does this result in the same output? Thanks!

"Can't save the illustration. The requested transformation would make some objects too large." I've been saving identical and similar style .EPS files for several years now, and this is the first time I get the error. I tried saving as .EPS and .AI (with it including the linked file). I get error everytime now.  The embedded/linked .tiff file is the same size as prev linked .tiff files from past few years ~1.0 Gig.Why is Illustrator preventing me from including the linked files now?

So, iknow paths are usually blue by default. But when I did an image trace on two different PNGs in two different documents, one gave me blue paths, the other gave me red? Ar least I think it’s red (I have vision issues). Definitely not blue. Only have one layer. Even expanded and ungrouped. Still not blue.

Why can I no longer find my ai files on dropbox when searching the file name through illustrator. I have several files with the same name which are on dropbox (in assorted folders) as well as my mac & external backup disk. I used to be able to open illustrator & search the file name which then listed all of the files with the same file name so I was sure to open the latest saved document. All the files are listed including the dropbox files when searching on spotlight but not showing when file - open - (file name) in illustrator. Hope I have explained clearly! Softwares & operating systems are up to date...

How can I create a vector illustration from a photo in Adobe Illustrator?

Hi,i'm trying to troubleshoot this weird behaviour of illustrator 25 (same goes for 24, i tried).At first boot it does detect my GPU, then after a few minutes it doesnt detect it and tells me i have no compatible GPU.I'm working on a thinkpad P16 gen2 with nvidia RTX 1000ada.I disabled the integrated intel graphics in the bios and cleaned completely the drivers with DDU,I also tried the steps to delete the preferences in user/username/app data/adobe etc.... but it didnt worki tried with latest (from today) nvidia drivers but didnt work, tried with latest lenovo drivers still same behaviour.then sometimes i wait like 10 minutes and randomly launch illustrator and it does tell me it detects the nvidia GPU, sometimes not.At launch it almost always detects it, then if i close illustrator and reopen it 2 minutes later it's not detected anymore then it will re detect it later (without me doing anything special on my side).Could you please help me with that?thanks a lot

Hello!When I'm trying to do a shift-move to lock into a horizontal or vertical axis, I often get stuck in the diagonal or it jumps into the diagonal axis right away. Is there a way to toggle the diagonal axis on or off, or potentially another keypress that limits the shift-move to horizontal/vertical only? I would really appreciate the help. This is one of those things that is mostly a non-issue, but every now and again, it feels insanely frustrating. 

I want to have multiple independent "variables" in one illustrator file For example, I have 4 different ones per page, and multiple pages. I want all of them to bechanged indepedently from one another and for them all to be visible at the same time in the document. Is this even possible?

I export Illustrator files a lot through the day to jpgs using the export option. I set up an action so it would so:Export > jpgs settings > close file The option that is messing up is I need it to export to the same folder as the Illustrator file on my server. Whenm I select the same file all other files only epxport to that same folder rather than the source. For obvious resons as I am setting that folder as the place to save to when I set up the actions.Any way to insist on the source folder rather than an eactual folder that will need to change each time.

Adobe's help states for Tweak FX:Randomly curves and distorts path segments inward and outward. It looks as though random is different every time an instance of the Tweak effect is applied. So I can have a rectangle, apply Tweak, and have another identical rectangle and apply Tweak to it too, and they will look different! I want to copy the "randomness" of Tweak from my rectangle to another identical rectangle so they will look exactly the same when Tweak is applied. The only way I have found is to duplicate the rectangle with Tweak already applied to it. Is there any other way that I could duplicate the Tweak effect (and its randomness) without duplicating the entire object it was applied to? This is in CS4.Thanks.  

Hi all, I've run into a problem when trying to expand the stroke on my text in Illustrator. It seems to be deforming the shape of the outlined text entirely and cutting out random holes.Does anyone know how to fix this so that the expand keeps it original shape? Thanks

Good day, all! I had a quick question if anyone knows the answer to it. I have a school assignment due tomorrow using the Adobe Illustrator program on my Microsoft Surface Pro 8 (both software and computer are fully updated to the best of my knowledge). It required using the very heavy tools such as 3D + Materials and Option > Mockup > Create Mockup using decently large SVG files. The final SVG design ended up being 25+ MB despite doing my best to slim it down - I'm on a time crunch and had to prioritize. Below is the first mock-up I created successfully using the SVG and the jar picture. It took about an hour to load and was on the verge of crashing the whole time.  Unfortunately, the project requires a second mock-up be made using two grouped copies of the SVG lined up together to display the back of the label design. That's where I'm stuck. After loading steadily for about an hour my computer suddenly went black, displayed this error message, and refuses to turn

The problem is with Adobe Illustrator and the GPU settings, the problem is that Illustrator stops detecting the graphics card, it stops working. The drivers have been updated but the GPU keeps disappearing, Illustrator doesn't detect it, I have an NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU graphics card with 8GB of RAMI hope someone can help me since Adobe support from the Admin console is not responding.Thank you in advance for your help. I have an extension (CEP) for several Adobe products, including Illustrator and InDesign.  My `icons` definition in my `manifest.xml` is correct, in that it points to 23 x 23 pixel PNG files inside the extension, and in that same folder I have included `@2x.png` versions of those icons which are 46 x 46 pixels. These icons display perfectly for me in all supported Adobe products.  However, I heard from a few Mac users that the icons all display correctly in every product except Illustrator.  In Illustrator, the icon appears as in my attached screenshot. Given that the icon appears normally everywhere else, I suspect this is some bug in Illustrator.  Can this be investigated?  Or is it possible I need to fix something in my extension?  Thanks!

I am new to Illustrator, and I am trying to recolour the Adobe Stock Image "AdobeStock_129114019" (Thin infinity sign) and I have followed the steps to recolour the Artwork. Edit - Edit Colours - Recolour Artwrok - Advanced Options - Select the NEW colour - enter in the HEX  and it does not work. I select the colour and nothing changes. What steps am I missing? This image was downloaded from Adobe Stock and not edited since downloading. The other issue I am having is that the HEX code I am trying to use is "out of gamet" I am trying to use #2233CC. Thanks for any help!

Hi everyone, My Illustrator has been crashing whenever I try to open DWG files from AutoCAD. I have not had this issue before and it works on the 26.0 version. However, in that version, it would freeze whenever I would try to close the program. In all other versions beyond that, the file will not open at all. Is there any way to remedy this? I am currently an architecture student, so deadlines are quickly approaching.    Sincerely, Andrew

i'm a novice at using illustrator so have a bit of learning to do here.  whats the best way to create a transparent background on a sketch to be able to use as logo in printing? There are 2 versions: see attachmentOne is a simple sketch on white backround. the color of the sketch is solid green. The second version is multiple color on light tan background.  I'd also like to be able to scale these images as current images are pretty small. I've tried using image trace but find it diffucult to remove background without manually having to click a shape of color and deleting and then clicking anothe shade and deleting. i'm sure i'm not going about this the correct way. Guessing there is a faster solution.  These are just sample images that i created in AI. Thanks
