I need help with this. The first screenshot is the effect (white star shape, not the "Melissa" text) I'm trying to get. The second screenshot is what I came up with. Does anyone know how I can get the star like in the first photo? I traced the star and feathered it but I don't like my result. Thanks in advance. 

Hi me and my team use MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) and Adobe Illustrator CC2019. We have to use ‘Show Indic Option‘ to work with Thai language but some of them can’t select ‘Show Indic Option’. Do you have an idea how fix this issue?Thank you{Renamed by MOD}

I have a project where I am given a couple of pages full of text. Let's say one part looks like this:  "Lorem [A] ipsum dolor sit amet, [B] consectetur adipiscing elit. [C] Phasellus imperdiet nisl malesuada ante vulputate, nec [A] ultricies ante pharetra. [Bb] Praesent consectetur [Gm] mauris sit amet velit venenatis, [C] id ornare lacus posuere." What I need to do is take all of the text that is in brackets (ncluding the brackets) and make that bold and a different color. Is there a way to do this? I can figure out how to select it, using find and replace, but I can't change anything but the actual text with that. Right now I find myself going in and selecting each character then making the change. Seems like there's an easy fix I'm not thinking of.  I also know there's the possibility that someone will come here and say "just use a custom script" or something like that. I am completely dense when it comes to that kind of thing. TIA!

I have a side facing logo that I want to manipulate it to be front facing. Does anyone know if there is a website or I can do this on Ilustrator?

Hi! I often lock/unlock layers/objects using ctrl + 2/ctrl + alt + 2 and was wondering if there was anyway to do that with only the objects on the active artboard. I couldn't find anything in my perusing. 

Lately when I scale an object and then try to apply the same scale to another object with CTRL + D it seems to move the object as well.I've double checked in the history channel that it is not registering as a move as well and it isn't.I've also confirmed that both times the anchor points are set to the center. I've tried it with Scale (S) with the anchor point in the middle and still the same problem. I also applied CTRL + D while still in the Scale.From where I'm looking it seems to be applying to the anchor point of the previous object as opposed to the object that is currently selected. I haven't changed any of my preferences between the last time it worked as intended vs when it started doing this. How do I fix this?

Hello...my menu command for the lock selection suddenly stopped working midstream while working on a file. I have reset the preferences to default / copied my preferences folder / reinstalled the folder / restarted numerous times to no avail. After the reset I was able to rename some of my menu and tool preferences and save as a new folder...HOWEVER the lock selection tool (which has always been a default of Ctl + 2) is still not working. Illustrator will not let me change it to another shortcut, in fact I cannot change it in any way. I have no new updates either. I have done everything suggested online. I can make lock selection an action, but it is slowing down my workflow. Any other suggestions other than trying to reinstall Illustrator?

Hi,I have a big color problem between CPU/GPU previews.In GPU preview, the colors become dull, bland. I didn't have this issue before the latest updates when switching between the two.I tried to reinstall an older version, but the problem persists.I am having the problem on both indesign and illustrator.Do you have a solution ?

Hello Adobe experts, I have hundreds of white logos made in illustrator (Image A). Exported as both PDF and .ai. (Image B) How can I easily preview these logos to be checked in Finder without having to open each file individually?  I have tried changing the background color in Adobe Acrobat/Preferences/ Replace Document Colors. (Image C) For some strange reason, I can only view the text and not the vector image. (Image D).  Is there a way to preview these images in Finder or Preview?  Why does Acrobat not display the embedded white vector part of the logo? Is there a better third party app for viewing these files? Thanks, Kevin 

I created a CMYK illustrator file of a food bag design and I've had a process print-ready file back file from the printer's art department which requires changes. For several reasons I can't go back to my original file. The problem is the bag colours that aren't direct pantones are now in layers (blue and yellow to make green for example) and only look the correct colour in Print Overview view.That's fine for editing, but when I save out/Export a JPEG for team approval or sharing, the final look of the colours is lost, and it appears with yellow and blue plate colours.So how do I save out a JPEG/PNG etc of the bag artwork that actually looks like Print Overview version of the bag? I searched forums and YouTube and can't find anything?Thanks 

Hello - Several of my colleagues are complaining about the creation of temporary Illustrator files that don't disappear (they stay on our server).So typically:-  A correct name: "TBT26683_IN_OUT_129_METOO_DESSERT_11REF__SHOOTING.ai".- a TMP file:  "ai174348866415TBT26683_IN_OUT_129_METOO_DESSERT_11REF__SHOOTING.ai". Is this a known problem?Is there a solution? Our agency context:- Mix of Mac OS, most are Mac OS “Sonoma” and some “Monterey”.- Illustrator CC2025 & CC2024.- Synology® server (we open/save directly on the server, since 20y.)- Some are working with "multiple spaces" (even on very old Mac Pro (+/- 12y. ago))- Everyone has two screens.- …So yes, what could cause this problem?Thank you, enjoy your day.   - Dimitri 

So, I recorded an Action where I save a file as an Adobe Illustrator file and then stop recording. When I run a Batch using that action, Illustrator opens a folder full of EPS files, but then saves them out to my specified folder as EPS files, not as AI files.What would be the issue? Whay isn't it saving them as AI files?

I'm a newbie, so this is probably obvious, but I can't find it in any tutorials or documentation.  In Illustrator I want to maintain the stroke settings while creating several paths with the pen tool.  However, every time I start a new path, the stroke settings revert to what must be a default.  E.g. I set 16pt + Variable width profile + Basic and stroke a path.  When I start a new path, the settings revert to 1pt + Uniform + Basic, and I have to reset back to my original. Other art programs I've used maintain the tool settings most recently used until they are manually changed.  How can I get the settings to stay through multiple uses of the pen tool?  Thanks.

How can have a artboard without border?    

I have a series of Illustrator AI files, some with hidden layers that I need to delete. I can use the Delete Hidden Layers command within the Layers panel to remove them all, manually. However, this command is not recordable as an Action. I can record "Unlock All Layers." (Many of my layers are also locked.) In the Actions panel, it shows as:>Show:   Unlock All Layers When I try to record "Delete Hidden Layers," it's recorded in the Actions panel as:>Show:   Name: This step of the action just creates a new Layer (and prompts me to name it). I've also tried "Insert Menu Item" from the Actions panel, but it appears menu items from panels are not included in that option. Is it really just impossible to perform this menu function without resorting to writing code? Why are so many of Illustrator's commands and menu items not actionable?

I am trying to import a .psb or even a .tif into Illustrator but when the ball is done spinning, nothing updates. I know these files are compatible with Illustrator as I've done this before as well as it lists .psb and .tif in the dropdown as compatible files.
