Hi, I have been using illustrator app since past 2 years. But recently I have been facing the issue of opening the .ai file.The file starts downloading in Microsoft edge, but doesn't open directly. I still can open it by right clicking on it and choosing ' Illustrator app' from the list of apps. ( it doesnt even show the option of 'Always open this file in Illustrator'Please Help

Please help me, I am facing this problem. It is very important for me to recover this file. Please give me any suggestions as soon as possible to recover the file.

The smooth tool ansd the pencil tool are overly sensitive. The tool on the area needing smoothed seems to delete the path and connect the two points not selected. I have modified the sensitivity for both the pencil and the smooth tool and it behaves the same for both (regarding smoothing out areas). I am attaching a screenshot showing the original area (as a guide), and the result with the smooth and the pencil tools...definitely overly smoothed beyond usefullness. Please adjust this glitch quickly. I (and am sure many others) use this consistantly on a daily basis.

Hi guys, could someone please help me understand what's wrong with my mockups?When I select both the vector object and the image of the mockup product, I am able to seemingly create a mockup. However, when it finishes processing, I am left with a bunch of straight vector lines instead of an actual whole image.  What seems weird is that on the preview images, the mockup appears as it should, but once placed on the artoboard, it reverts to those straight lines.  Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there a simple solution that I'm missing out on?

Hi there, I am wondering if it is possible to create something like this in which shapes are inverted to the opposite colour when placed on top of another?   Is there a setting in which this acn be done or would it be a matter of colouring each shape manually? Thanks!

Is there a way to reduce the size of the gradient annotator? When I watch tutorials, their annotators are streamlined and slim (on right). Mine (on left) is bulky in comparison and sometimes obscures the object I'm working on. I tried working in large documents but that did not affect the size. Thx.

When I am trying to download illustrator, it says I need to update my system however I am already up to date with updates on my graphics card/drivers and my OS. It keeps poping up and I have the system requirements.

Hi everyone! Is it possible in Adobe Illustrator to adjust the length of anchor handles without affecting their angle? Or vice versa — adjust the angle without changing the length?Achieving this precision manually with a mouse feels impossible, yet it’s so necessary for small optical adjustments, fixing "optical kinks" in smooth curves and customizing fonts and making other detailed edits.Right now, I rely on these clunky workarounds:If the line is straight, I create a helper line and drag the handle along it. If the angle matters, I use a circle for control.But honestly, this is so tedious, and I’m exhausted from doing it over and over. I’ve heard about path scribe, but I can’t afford them right now. My other searches have been fruitless.Are there any hidden settings, shortcuts, or tricks for this in Illustrator?If anyone has encountered this and found a solution, please share!

We need an option to create a project file that cannot be saved over. The reason for this is that when working with a client who has many options, we sometimes need to step back in time or recover older versions from unexpected changes. Similar to an Illustrator template file (.ait), we could have a format like .aiv or .aivi. This way, when I save flyer.aiv, every save will generate a backup file flyer-250204817.ai next to the current file. It would also be useful to have an option in a settings pane to save a backup every other save and retain backups for a maximum of three days or up to ten saves. Whatever option we choose should control the local .aiv file. I do store files on my local nas server, where every save gets a snapshot. However, when working on my local system (laptop), I don’t have that function, nor do I always have Wi-Fi. This means working in Adobe Cloud is not an option.Please provide an option so we do not loose our work or we have the option to recover from edits w

I am looking for a solution to an ongoing illustration need I have. I draw diagrams with expanded lines that need to go over some lines and under others. Arrange to front or back only allows me to use a command for the entire line so it will always only be above other lines or below them. If I could give commands of arrange/bring to front with relation to a specific grouping and arrange/bring to back with relation to a different grouping that would be wonderful. Any ideas? The photo I've attached took me 30 minutes to draw and perfect, way too long!

Hi, forums!I have two Bamboo tablets - a CTE-450/B and a CTE-650/S. I found the 650 in a thrift store, and I've had my 450 for years, but both are in good working order.  I haven't really used them with Illustrator CC, though, and when I sat down to try some inking the program sort of freaks out.  No matter which tablet I use, Illustrator just scrolls up, and up, and up.  If the stylus is near the tablet's surface, Illustrator scrolls up.  I can't do anything else - tapping the stylus registers as a right-click.I've unplugged, tinkered, fiddled, and rebooted.  It doesn't matter what buttons I hold down on my keyboard, nor does Illustrator seem to care when I just hover the pen over the tablet.  It will *not* stop scrolling.  The *only* thing that seemed to work was a complete reinstall of my tablet drivers... until my computer went to sleep.  When I woke it up the next day, the problem was back.I've followed a guide on disabling Windows Ink and u

Hello, Very new to using Illustrator, I'm on Tutorials, Get started with Illustrator,  Change color and strokes. That said, what is the Pasteboard Area, and where can I find information about it?There doesn't seem to be any information about it in the Illustrator User Guide?I've done some google searching but all I've gotten thus far is that it's like the table you set your artwork on.Not much to go on, seems to me, since it looks like every Illustrator file has one, I would think that more information on the subject would be helpful.Do I need it, can I resize it, can it be the size of the artboard? Or maybe I missed it? Peace,ElementX

We developed a SDK plugin, it can be loaded successfully and work well in some machines, but it cannot be loaded in some machines.In those environments, they have the same version of Adobe Illustrator, and using the same plugin files, but with different OS versions (win10 & win11).We are not sure the loading failure is caused by the different OS versions or other reasons, currently we cannot find the detailed description about it. I would be very grateful for any suggestions on how to address this issue. Hello everyone, An image agency has rejected my vector graphics on the grounds that I used the AI tools there. The vector graphics are actually all elements that I created back in 2016 and only saved in Eps format using the latest Adobe Illustrator software. In other words, I didn't use any AI tools. However, the picture agency wrote me the following: "According to the information provided by Adobe embedded in the file, an AI tool was used in the creation of the file.Please check your processes when creating the file to ensure you are not using AI tools. " Now, of course, I am unsure whether this might affect other files. How can I read the file information to see whether the AI tools have been used?

Ive been designing on Illustrator for a little over a year, and just yesterday I noticed I couldnt open some of my older files, the fault comes up "Cant Open File, The account youve signed in with does not have access to this file, contact the owner for more info". Problem is, Im the owner obviously, I have signed in on my mums laptop while away to catch up only once, but this was when I very started designing. Designs I have created only recently, I have lost access to. I have tried logging in and out, and it hasn't worked. I know you can download them through creative cloud, But ill like to regain access. Is there any answers?

Hello guys, I have a new strange situation in Illustrator when I'm saving file into PDF.  I recorded a video https://capture.dropbox.com/dVf8f2p7buyxJiGF  as you can see the stroke that I selected are coloured by spot colour (CutContour), but after saving it into PDF format the same object it duplicate itself into another object with CMYK color stroke.... you can see that in the Acrobat window. It's something without any logic to me.... Do you any idea? BestFrancesco

Drop Shadow in Illustrator is sudden huge on the lowest settings. I'm working on a Macbook pro M2, Apple studio display. I've made drop shadow in Illustrator thousands of times and I've never seen this. Image is around 10 x 10 inches. System and Creative Suite all up to date.
