Hi there, I've been using the dimension tool to do some interior design mockups. So far it's pretty nice except that about 30% of the time the measurement lines will disconnect themselves from the shape with no rhyme or reason. I understand that measurements will disconnect when you add rounded corners (although it really should just fix itself to the nearest anchor point but whatever).    My main way of getting the measurements attached to a shape is to click and drag from the shape line itself (not messing around with clicking on individual anchor points). I feel like I'm missing something here that is super obvious. Some shapes have no trouble keeping their measurements, and others just shed them repeatedly. I just updated to latest Illustrator 29.2.1 today.  Any help is appreciated. 

Buenas, me gustaría recibir algo de ayuda con un problema visual que tengo. Todos los png que coloco en mis mesas trabajo aparecen con fondo blanco. SÍ son transparentes y aun así aparecen con fondo blanco, no se como solucionar eso, adjunto imagen para que les de una idea:

I have been trying to save an AI file as PDF since two days and  still I couldn't manage.I read all the all related communtiy topics, watched all solution videos on the youtube but none of them worked.If I try to save as PDF progress bar stoping around %99 and not respondingI Itry to save AI this time it says unable to save...I've updated AIUpdated WindowsUpdated driversUnchecked autosaveReset preferencesI still can't save a simple file. I can't understand how a program can be so bad. I've never seen such a bad program and such a stupid problem in my life. I've been trying for two days for a 1 hour job. I've been using PS for years and I've never experienced anything like this. It's as if Illustrator was made by a crappy company and not the same company. 

Hi everyone,I'm looking for a JavaScript solution that can convert a straight line into a smooth curve, similar to the functionality available in Adobe Illustrator.Does anyone have a code example or suggestions on how to achieve this using JavaScript, possibly with libraries like Canvas API, SVG, or any other approach?

I am having an issue with Illustrator 2024, when I import my ase file some colours are displayed as UNNAMED; despite the fact that they are named  (i.e. RAL 010 40 45 Raspberry Ice Cream Read) It seems that the Illustrator can not read a certain amount of characters. Is there a workaround to display these long names without having to shorten it ? On the previous version it seemed to work fine.  

I noticed, that each time when I export anything from Illustrator as SVG it kept reminding me, that this file doesn't have any embedded color profile (I'm aware that SVG is by default in sRGB - it's just about the popup). This popup shows up at several other instances. I then always proceed to assign the right color profile, which I already did several times at this point and which is of course also my current working space. But this doesn't change anything: The Illustrator file as well as the exported files still don't have any embedded color profile, no mater what I try.  The main issue seems the actual AI file itself, not the export. No locating it in Windows menu or Property Panel or preferences.  I un/reinstalled Illustrator from the CC Desktop  for a fix. Nada. I saw in notes that the issue was fixed in a v.28 version. But not for me. I'm in the US. and my lap top OS is Windows 10. Has anyone been able to resolve this issue or is it hidden somewhere new? grrrrrr....and thank you!

Updated Illustrator 29.2.1 freezes/crashes when I try to print a document. Only works if I reset to 29.01.

I am using the transform effect to replicate a shape multiple times (around a circle). When this happens they are all 'mirrors' to the original and the original is the only editable shape. Now that I have them in the correct position, is there a way to covert them to indiviual vectors that I can manipulate separately ?

Hi,I am trying to make a logo for a certain band and everything would be great, but I can't make a rim around the whole. The graphics look like this:When I want to use the Offset Path option for the whole, something like this comes out:I understand that this is dictated by the shape of the sharp ends of the letters, but is there any option, any chance to do it differently? I specifically purchased a Surface Book from Microsoft so that I can use the Surface Book in portrait mode.  However, for some reason whenever I open Illustrator, it stays in landscape orientation even if the tablet is turned in Portrait.  When I run Photoshop, the orientation rotates no problem, so it seems specific to just Illustrator.Has anyone else experienced this issue?  And if so, has anyone found a fix for this?Thanks.

There will be times when I have the painbrush tool active, and I draw next to a selected drawn path/shape, it will - by accident - edit that one according to how I draw. I'd like to do that on purpose now. Does anyone know how? Thank you in advance!

How do I make an effect of a car speeding In Illustrator?

I'm on a Macbook Pro with the M3 Pro chip. I tried unplugging my mouse and this issue still occurs. I tried unchecking GPU performance under preferences and that still didn't work. Any suggestions?

Is there any way (except by Scissors tool and then deleting the unwanted part of the original line) how to move the ending anchor point of a curved line along the original curved path of the line to trim (shorten) the line? I want to keep the original path curvature. The purpose of it is to easily adjust the space for the text on the arrow path in case I need to add (or change) text on its path the text. Ideally, it would be nice to be able to change the curvature of the arrow together with the curvature of the text, but I do not know if this is possible. Thank you for your answer.

Estimados:     Tengo problemas con la última actualización de Ilustrator. Al crear una caja de texto no la reconoce como tal, si no como un objeto y que ademas no permite cambiar su tamaño con la herramienta de selección como usualmente lo haría. Lo mismo ocurre al crear un elemento geométrico, no puedo usar la herramienta de selección  para ajustar su tamaño, girarlo o mover, pues no me da las opciones de manera directa. Intente instalando la versión anterior pero mantiene el mismo error.Por favor ¿alguien puede tener la solución?Estas son las características de mi equipo:

I cannot "Create Swatch Info," as it is greyed out, along with "Create Gradient," in the swatch panel. Why? I have tried making a new document and just using the default swatches... Nothing. I am on a new M4 mac mini running the latest Illustrator, 2025. Thanks!
