here are HUGE issues with adobe lately and it's crashing for a lot of people, not just the op....maybe you guys need to revisit some coding basics? i have no idea what's going on but on M2 chips, all my adobe is unstable - even creative cloud app and i've reinstalled the OS and Adobe fully... with the ridiculous price of the monthly it should absolutely be more stable than this. i have an m2 pro macbook air with 24gb of ram and illustrator freezes so i have to force quit more than three times a day. luckily for adobe astute grpahics plugins exist to make it a little more stable and offer actual auto saves - i have no idea why adobe can't figure out autosaving - have it on but it never worked until i got astute plugins for illustrator. affinity is looking real good with no subscriptions and one time purchase.

If I have a EPS file on my desktop (or anywhere), why doesn't it show a preview of that file like you can with AI, PSD, JPG...etc? Why is this still a thing?

Hi people!After a reinstall i am setting up Illustrator again. I do use a specific color profile for printing by newspaper requirement named WAN-IFRAnewspaper26v5.icc. I did installed in Mac Library ColorSync. It does appear right in Photoshop and InDesign Color Space. However when i try to setup the new color space in Illustrator it does not appears as an option in the list. How come? Why it does work for the two other main major Adobe apps and not in Illustrator?Here is the pic. It appears as "other" but never let me select WAN-IFRAnewspaper26v5.icc. as an option even tough i have installed properly. Any help or ideas?Thanks!

When using the "Embed Images" option on a Link in Adobe Illustrator, the option is visible and can be clicked, but nothing happens. The Mac is a MacBook Pro Apple M2 Max, running MacOS Sequoia 15.2 We have tried to rebuild the Mac and reinstall Illustrator. Illustrator version 28.7.1 This works on other devices. There is no error message or anything it simply just does nothing. 

Hi, I've got a Macbook pro m2 max running illustrator 2025. When i open a file it comes up with an unknown error, then I try to embed the links and they remain non embedded. Rebuilt the mac, new profile, tested also on 2024. Any help would be great, thankyou.

Is it vital to use a mouse when using illustrator on a Mac? I've having difficulty, even the simplist of tasks are beyond me, and not like the tutorials. Do I need to go back to using a mouse?  Thanks.

Has something changed about Swatch Libraries? I have libraries provided by paint companies and in the past they would stay named spot colors when used in a drawing. Now, using the same libraries, when I use the swatch, it converts to CMYK and loses the name. I can still see the spot swatches in files I worked on a couple months ago, but can't add new colors without it converting.

Hello community, As the title suggests, I was wondering if it's possible to somehow use (even potentially through scripting) the Plus Lighter and Plus Darker blending modes in Adobe Illustrator. They seem to be available in Figma and other design software, but no trace of them in the Adobe Suite.Perhaps their results could even be replicated somehow? Curious what your thoughts are on the matter.

Hello everyone, I'm Trying to create a outer line that contain specific number of dots 240 to be exact. I considered using the dashed line option for proper spacing, but it doesn't seem to give me the level of control I need. Is there a way to do this exactly? also attach reference images were i want dots. red line. 

Hi, For a project I am working on, I am required to use a specific color profile (PSO Uncoated v3 (FOGRA52)).How can I double-check if it is being used in the current file? If I am not wrong, this can be done from the assigned profile setting. However, I am a bit unsure which is the correct option between option 2 and 3. They both seem to be the same thing. Thank you!

Hi everyone,I’m trying to add forms, like dots, around a custom shape in Illustrator. Specifically, I want to replicate something like the dots surrounding the heart in the attached example.The tutorials I’ve found so far mostly cover adding shapes around circles, but this is not a circular shape. I’m struggling to figure out how to distribute the dots evenly around a non-circular shape like a heart.Could someone guide me on how to achieve this? Are there any Illustrator tools or techniques that work well for this type of task?Thanks so much for your help!  

Hi!I have a problem when exporting two CMYK gradient colors from Indesign(2025) and then opening up the document in Illustrator(2025). I export it as an .pdf CMYK Fogra 39 but as soon as I open it up two of the gradients in the document disappears. I will Attach the indesign document "Utredning_FLH" and its the two first gradients that disappears. Some of you have any idea of what could be the problem?

my question is why in preview mode I see this (correct) pattern (a 45° line)....and in the outline view I see this (unwanted) effect ?    

I added a svg path and text to the pdf file (see attached) and in pdf viewers (MacOS Preview, Adobe Acrobat Reader) it looks fine:But when opeing it with Illustrator the two elements (text & image) are missing. What's wrong with the file or Illustrator? Thanks in advance

I recently noticed I can no longer resize or rotate artwork by selecting it and then dragging a corner.  The arrows that used to appear there no longer display, so I have to resize/rotate via the Transform menu, which is much less convenient.  Is there a box I can check somewhere to bring back the old behavior?  Thanks for any tips. I'm running v29.1 on Win10 x64.

I have been using Adobe Illustrator for several years and never ran into issues regarding the fonts but recently, as of the past several months my fonts will deactivate on projects. I know it's best to expand texts to avoid this happening but on a lot of projects I need to go back to and quickly revise on a monthly basis. With that being said, my fonts on a whole project have been deactivated and are showing that I have no fonts downloaded on creative cloud. However, if I go to Adobe Font, all of my fonts are still "activated". It's a lot of back and forth to fix this issue, I am wondering if anyone has run into this issue and if so, what are your suggestions to correcting it? I work on a MacBook Pro.

In fact, I find the performance and responsiveness of Illustrator and Photoshop on this new high-end configuration to be no better than on my former 2015-vintage 27in iMac (reluctantly retired after a motherboard failure). These problems affected the 2024 versions and were not improved by the 2025 versions. The most prominent symptom is the extremely poor menu response. A mouse-click on a menubar item frequently results in a multi-second pause before the menu drops down, sometimes a count of 5 or 6. Toolbar response is also extremely sluggish. Hello,Can anyone help me understand why colour shapes no longer fit perfectly to outline of that shape? Working on a font design and this inaccuracy is confusing and making an accurate corner design difficult!  Any suggestions appreciated!

Top toolbar no longer shows replace synbol when moving or scaling a dynamic symbols they reset and loose all modifications.  

I am working on a complex map that a predecessor created initially in ArcGIS Desktop and then moved to Illustrator for more finesse.  The new version of ArcGIS (Pro) is much more cartographically sophisticated and we'd like to get all of the map back into GIS format if possible.  We will still use Illustrator for the marginalia, cover, etc. - everything surrounding the actual map image.My primary concern is map text.  There are over 1,000 text objects on the illustrator map, all discretely layered by type (e.g. road names, elevation, point of interest, etc).  Is there a way to convert the text layers to a GIS format?  It would ideally be a geodatabase annotation layer, but a simple text graphics layer or point shapefile would be acceptable as well.  Really anything that would work in GIS and preserve layering.Is something like this possible?  I would only need to do this once, so if it's a little painful I don't mind - so long as its not as bad as rec

I use the following workflow: Create AI working file that has different layouts for the same item on separate artboards. Place that working file as a link into another AI file and probably some PSD files. The idea is to have one working file placed in multiple other files, and then just update the links in the other files when the original file changes. (Iterations of the same label must be in both an AI presentation file and a PSD file for each iteration It's a bit of a nesting challenge but works for me).  So. Not sure exactly how to describe this problem. Often (but not always!) the following happens: an AI doc which has the placed images and working file is saved and closed. When I open that AI doc later, all the links are placed in the file multiple times, and they don't seem to be linked. The message I get when opening the file, and I get this for each link: "An error occurred trying to read the linked file <insert file name here>. Choose Replace to select another
