You have posted the solution for Photoshop but I am having the same issue in Illustrator. How do I fix it?

I had been using the generative recolor but today it keeps crashing when I try to use it. I've tried restarting the computer and the program. I've closed everything else and just had Illustrator open. I've tried opening in safe mode and it still crashes. The computer is a Mac that's up to date with the OS and has more than all the required specs. Please let me know how I might fix this. 

I have a small business that makes custom design art kits. Most of my time is devoted to copy and pasting images into label templates in photoshop, and was wondering if there is any way I can get it done automaticaly? I'm looking for a program that will take a list of images and automatically copy and paste onto a label template. Is Illustrator capable of doing this? I haven't needed it so far and don't want to invest in it if it won't help.I've attached two files to hopefully show what I'm trying to do. The first is the list of symbols I want to insert into the template for the labels, second file. At this time I'm copying and pasting each and would like to automate it.

Hello. So, I had to purchase an Adobe license to use Illustrator for school. My problem now is that I cant download the program as it seems that my laptop does not meet the necessary specs to run it. Now, I checekd my specs and I can't see whats lacking, so it would be of great help if someone could help me identify the problem here. When creating a file in the latest version and saving in lower versions or one lower version, all text boxes collapse to a single letter, but when reopened and edited, the size of the text box fixes itself. Request to guide in what to be done to avoid these

hi, since the new update or even before there is one immprtant Button Missoing: "replace all". When i open a document in which i connected an other illlustrator document with several artboards, usually i was asked if i want to replace all of them at once. Now this possibility is gone and i have to replace the artboards manually!! Why? How can i avoid this? 

Hi everyone,For the past week I have been unable to drag and drop (to open) any PDF or ai files into my Adobe Illustrator (or PDF into Acrobat). I receive a lot of my work over email and am use to dragging it from the received email in outlook and hovering it over the selected and appropriate icon on my dock, then letting go for it to instantly open. This is now not possible. Also just right clicking the file while its in the email and selecting the correct application wont work either. It just opens the selected application but no file.A common message that sometimes appears is "Illustrator is not currently open" (same for acrobat) which is strange as they are definitely open. I'm currently having to save everything that gets emailed to me, even if its just a PDF with some information I need to quickly read.Is there anyway to fix this? It all worked absolutely fine before and meant I could work at a decent speed.I have no clue, and can't find anything online. Many thanks for any help!

Hello, I need to be able to set up multiples of the same image (periodically multiples of different images) in large documents that will be contour cut with a flatbed machine. The materials the images are printed on vary between 48x96 and 50x100 inches. The images will be linked from an original file. There is a special swatch set up so while I create the cutlines myself I only need to change the color to make it a cut line the machine can read. I know how to do everything, I am just looking for ways to do it all quickly. I need to pump these files out as fast as possible, but I'm struggling on a proper workflow/strategy/what have you to do so. Sometimes images have their own cutlines with a 1/4" space between and sometimes images can share a cutline. I have a coworker who has a few years more experience than I do who can seem to set up hundreds of images in no time flat, and I feel a disconnect on figuring out how to be as fast as they are.  I have asked for help,

If LAScripts, JSXLauncher, ScripshonTrees and ALL plugins made with CEPHTML that you can think of are open, pressing the Tab key twice in a row does not hide the panels. Show/Hide All Palettes.For example:Step 1: Have the LAScripts palette open (It can be in any plugin, it does not matter which one you use)Step 2: Press the TAB key twice in a rowStep 3: You will notice that the 2nd TAB does not hide all the palettes.This disgraceful situation only occurs in Windows(10) systems. They said there is no problem in Mac systems (I did not try it)

In Windows, the standard scroll-wheel zoom key is Ctrl. Pretty much everything follows this standard, including all web browsers, Word, Explorer, even Adobe Reader. Except Adobe softwares (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.). It uses the Alt key instead.This drives me nuts. Switching between all of these programs has my fingers in a frazzle. I keep using the wrong key in the wrong program.I tried to change it using Keyboard shortcuts panel, but Alt+Mouse Wheel is not an option. It doesn´t recognize Crtl + scroll wheel.Is there a way to scroll-wheel zoom with Ctrl instead of Alt?

Does anyone know why my PNGs are showing up on Illustrator like this?  It shows a white background when it's on an artboard and a gray background when it's off the artboard. No problems when I open the PDF in Acrobat. The transparency is there on PDFs, but it's bugging me because I can't see the background. 

Hi, team. I'm working with illustrator and I have a scene with many objects placed randomly. Some of these objects are overlapping. Is there a script or feature that can automatically adjust their positions to avoid overlaps and ensure a more even distribution?

I don't use clipping paths much, so every time I need to do one I usually do a quick Goog;le search beforehand and have no problems with it. I just upgraded to Illustrator 2025 and it looks like they've changed how clipping paths work. Either that or I'm forgetting a small-but-crucial step. I'm trying to punch the hole in a letter "P" but I can't get the clipping path to work. I've tried using Object > Clipping Path > Make, and I've treid using Pathfinder, but no luck so far. I'm attaching a simplified file with the two paths if anyone wants to take a shot and let me know what I forgot to do.  Greatly appreciated in advance!!

When selecting multiple shapes, the corner widget only appears on some of the shapes/paths, and not all. There's no "maxium number" of paths the widgets appear on, it's random every time. I also can't add more shapes/paths to the existing selection without all widgets disappearing. Both "show corner widgets" and "show edges" options are turned ON. I was able to select as many shapes as I wanted and scale all corners at simultaneously earlier today. The option has just suddenly disappeared even though I didn't change/update Illustrator in any way. [renamed by mod]

I had to resave a recovered file after a crash, but the recovered file won't display any of the guides. Guides are not hidden and I am not in Trim View. I've tried both GPU and CPU Preview, and still nothing. The guides are on their own layer, which is not hidden. The individual guide objects are also not hidden. I can see them in the layers panel, and they will highlight once I select them. I use guides to mark off margins, so I need to be able to see them without having them selected. I can create new guides and see them with no issue, it's only the pre-existing guides at the time Illustrator crashed that I cannot see. It's not a huge deal to delete and add new guides, but if there's a way to fix this, I'd like to know in case it happens again in the future. I'm using Illustrator 28.1 on Mac OS Sonoma 14.0

When creating a new artboard in an existing document, the default spacing is always 0.2778 inch. I find this spacing extremely inconvenient. For example, I want to quickly create an 8-page document, so I click on "New Artboard" 8 times. But I can only layout content on one page at a time. It would be much more convenient if I could just move/copy my first page layout by nice whole numbers like 9 inches to quickly fill the lineup of pages, instead of having to figure out what 8.5 + .2778 is, and then add that to itself 7 times. Is there any way to set the default to 1/2 inch, or any other reasonable number? I can't believe there is no way to change this to some other unit or scale. It's not a round number in either picas or millimeters.

I have some coloring book pages that I'm working on. I have lots of groups that each contain multiple thicknesses of lines. I need to make the ones closer to the front a touch darker than those in the distance. Is there a way to select a group and add .25 thickness to every line in the group? (Or whatever other increment needed.)

I am following a background tutorial and it looked like this with barely starting it. I hoped it would stop at a certain point but the previews are accurate to what I want but for some reason when it is applied it looks totally different then to what it previewed as.

Is there a way to properly display UNICODE text when adding it via script. I was able to get Illustrator to display UNICODE by enabling "Show Indic Options" under Type Preferences but it still fails via script.

I'm currently learning to use illustrator for a school project, that being said, I can't find out how to smooth out rough lines or edges in a convinient way. Any help? I attached some photos below.
