I'm trying to create a simple (or so I thought) clipping mask of this image- so that the state is filled in by the pattern. But for some reason I keep getting the notification that it cannot be created. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the Virginia outline? Or what....help?

Hello, I'm looking for a way to delete hidden lines completely outside of a clipping mask (and/or draw inside), because our cutting software still sees these paths. 1. Desired result2. Cutter ViewI've seen several posts on here about shapebuilder or pathfinder cropping, but neither of those options work. I'm using Cutting Master 4 in Illustrator 2024

Hi there!I've spent so many hours on this problem, and tried so many permutations of 'Actions' and scripting, but I've run out of things to try. I'm on the verge of doing everything manually (which will take many hours), so I'm posting here in the hope that someone cleverer than me have figure out how to accomplish what I'm trying to do.I have a composition where I'd like to grab a few points and run 'Transform>Rotate' by 1 degree, export the image, and repeat this action 360 times, incrementing the rotation by 1 degree each time.What complicates this a little is that some of the points are connected to an object, but I'm only selecting a few of them. Rotating just some of the points creates an interesting 'chaos composition' (see attachment) – this is the effect I'm going for.I can't do this rotation with 'Actions' because actions doesn't let me export the image with incrementing file names (I have to manually type it out each time). However, I can do all this with a script, H

Is there a way to change the aspect ratio from square to wide with the text to vector function in Adobe Illustrator? Separately, is there a way to iterate on an idea? Giving an initial prompt, and then asking it to change some details about what it's created. 

I'm having a bizarre bug happening in Illustrator 2023. Part of the text I'm working on disappears, and I can only edit it if I'm in outline mode. Then, I can only export it with the text converted to curves.Here are some images to illustrate:1_Normal view: here, you can see the text missing areas, as if I had extra paragraphs. If I try to eliminate those spaces, it deletes the line underneath.2_Outline view: here, you have the text as I should be seeing in normal view.3_Export from Normal View: I thought it might be a problem with the RAM, so I exported this first pdf waiting to see the text as it should be. You can see that it exported with the error I was seeing.4_Export after converting text to curves in outline view: I had to change to outline view again, convert the text to curves and export it to pdf.This last image shows how it should look without jumping all these hoops! 

Hi. I'm working with Adobe Illustrator CC 2019 and I can't rotate and scale object from sides (everything is ok with corners) with selection tool. When I'm trying do this, I only can pick up anchor point an move object. It happens only with small objects. (Bounding box is enabled) How can I fix it?

Hello,I'm unsure how to remove the white rectangles/spaces because they show up when I make the photo transparent or export it as a PNG. If anyone knows how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, ich habe eine stockgrafik mit ca 30 kleinen Männleins, die ich bearbeiten möchte. leider wurde bei der datei nicht mit Farbfeldern gearbeitet. kann man nachträglich eine farbe in ein farbfeld umwandeln oder muss ich  alle Männleins seperat bearbeiten? LG

Over the last 2 weeks images have slowly been strugling to show correctly.  They come up as black and white stripes or inverterd or not at all.   The below images show how it can look and how it should look.  When you zoom in they look fine.  We have have always had files with this many images on a page  without issue.  This happens with embedeed and unembeded images.  Any help appreciated.

Ist es so exotisch? Ich habe seit einigen Illustrator-Versionen das haarsträubende Problem, dass Texte (egal ob „normaler“ oder Flächentext) beim Kopieren von einem in ein anderes Dokument in einzelne Teile (Zeilen, Buchstaben) zerlegt eingefügt wird und quasi nicht mehr editierbar sind. Manchmal passiert das auch beim Kopieren innerhalb desselben Dokuments – es mach mich schier wahnsinnig. Ich ahne, dass es evtl. etwas mit den Zwischenablageoptionen zu tun haben könnte – jedoch habe ich bisher keine Einstellung gefunden, bei der das Problem beseitigt wurde. Weiß hier jemand Rat? Vielen Dank für jeglichen Hinweis!

  I can't choose or see the written font. But I could confirm that the text exists through the thumbnail.Even in the layers tab, the text information is still visible.It's really strange.. Even when I try to view it in outline mode, the text is not visibleI think this is an Illustrator error... Is there any way to fix it?

I know how to write the code (*.jsx) that will draw a path in Illustrator. By path I mean a number of path points (anchor point, pair of direction points, ...). BUT is there a way to ‘get’ the location of .Anchor, .LeftDirection, .RightDirection. from a selected path? So, from drawing to code...

When I copy objects that are linked to graphic style from one document and paste them into a document with the identical graphic styles (Same appearance, same name) new graphic styles are created with the same name plus appended numbers. Is there a way that the graphic styles are not duplicated, so that I don't have to delete the duplicated styles manually?I would appreciate very much your help.Daniel

We have Mac and PC users that need to work on an AI file that is referencing images. We cannot use exact folder paths for the images, I need to figure out how to do this with relative file paths.

Hi there, I hope someone can give me a hand with this. I'm using Illustrator, and when importing images, whether they are screenshots from my MacBook or JPEGs from Procreate, they always look desaturated in comparison with the original. Illustrator file is set to RGBPreserve Embedded Color Profile is enabledsRGB working color profile is selectedImages are either screenshots on Mac (RGB) or Procreate JPEGs (RGB)There’s no CMYK involved (clarifying this because it seems like an RGB to CMYK issue, but it’s not) Screenshot attached, left is illustrator, right is Chrome browser window.

Hi..Mac Users, please help. I have a simple question regarding organizing my Illustration Swatches.  Where can I delete the swatches I imported a long time ago? There's a section called: User-Defined from my swatch drop-down selections, but I couldn't find anywhere to remove them. (I went to Application/Presets/Swatches, but still couldn't find them...) Please see the screenshot 1.  Another question is..I didn't know how to import .aco swatch to Illustrator so I use Photoshop export swatch to .ase so I can import it to Illustrator...(is this is the correct way to do it?)But, I don't know how to remove them from the drop-down swatch selections. Please see screenshot 2.

I have multiple artboards in one document. They are scattered with a mix of vector graphics and images I've linked (unembedded). It is beginning to slow down the CPU and I'm pretty sure it is the high quality images. Is there anyway to turn off image preview like in InDesign while I'm working?

I'm sure there's a simple solution for this, I've just searched everywhere and cannot find what it is. If I copy an object with a clipping mask in Illustrator, it selects only the masked area:  However, when I paste it into Photoshop, it pastes with all the extra space hidden by the mask showing.   What's the best way to prevent this? My current workaround has been to make a copy of the masked stuff, rasterize it, then copy and paste that into photoshop, but that's not really ideal so I'm hoping there's a simpler solution.

Hi, all. Has anyone ever faced this problem where Illustrator's splash screen is unresponsive? The splash screen status would be stuck at "initialising" and blacks out after a while. I checked my task manager and saw Adobe's crash report program was active, so I guess it crashed but I don't know why bcoz even Adobe's own diagnostic tool would go into the "not responding" state when it was triggered. I think I tried almost all the solutions I could find on the forums, including renaming the preference file in C:/, renaming the media core file, uninstalling and reinstalling, updating to a newer version of AI and rolling back to older versions. None of them worked. Not sure if it was a foreshadowing, but Adobe would always crash when closing some weeks prior to this current problem. Not sure if this an issue with AI's software or my laptop system. Any ideas?

Illustrator recently crashed on me so I navigated to the correct data recovery folder but when I went to open the file it crashed illustrator again and the .aid file disappeared on me. Is there anything else I can do to recover the file or find the missing .aid file?

No idea what is going on with CC18 (mac osx 11.2.1), but the pathfinder tool is not cooperating.See attached. Merely trying to use a tool I always use to create transparent lettering (knock out of a background). I use the Minus Front tool on two objects, and this is what I get. Odd, unselectable chunks of the background shape. It's not a redraw error, it persists and shows up when placed in indesign.Any ideas would be really welcomed. Thanks!
