Cannot Export PDF from InDesign 2026 Book Files Created in InDesign 2025

Does this happen with all books or only a particular book?

If what ​@Mike Witherell suggested doesn’t solve the problem, export (or save as) each of the files as .idml, then open those in 2025 and save with new names. Create a new Book in 2025 and add the converted files.

Check things carefully. Changing versions can cause text to reflow, especially if you do any additional editing.

Likely there is no need to go back to 2025 version. Instead try these steps:

1. Make sure you are patched up to InDesign 2026 21.2 version. 

2. Have a look at Windows Updates and run the updates showing up in February. 

Reboot and test again.

Possibly blow preferences in InDesign and restart after trying the above steps.
